Uluru without a car

Yes, it is how most people do itFly in and get collected at the airport, or start at your Alice Springs hotel.

Yes, and it is how most people see it. Fly into Ayers Rock Airport and the trip collects you there: two days around Uluru and Kata Tjuta is from $679, with pick-up from the airport and the Yulara hotels between 1pm and 2pm. Or start in Alice Springs, where the trips collect you from your hotel early in the morning, from 5:30am, and three days with Kings Canyon is from $729, with all meals from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 3. Several trips finish with a free transfer to Uluru airport, so you can fly in and out without ever needing a car.

Checked on 28 October 2026.

Uluru is around 450km from Alice Springs, with no public bus between them, and Kata Tjuta is another 50km on once you are inside the park, with Kings Canyon around 300km further again. That distance is exactly why you do not need a car: the trips are built to collect you, drive the long legs with a guide, and drop you where your flight leaves.
