Lost In Australia is an Australian-owned travel agency specialising in small-group tours. We have been putting travellers onto small, independently run adventures across every Australian state and territory since 1999.
The story begins in a small camping office in Darwin, where founder Michael Morgan spent his teenage years in the late 1980s cleaning trucks for his parents’ camping tour business. That was the apprenticeship. In 1999 he started Lost In Australia, and the same hands-on, small-group spirit that defined those early Northern Territory camping tours has carried the business from its Darwin roots to covering the length and breadth of the continent.
We are a travel agency, not a tour operator. The tours we sell are run by independent, locally owned Australian operators – the kind of business Michael’s parents once ran – and our job is to find them, check them, and match you to the right trip. Rather than mass-market packages, we seek out small, grass-roots operators, because they are the ones who deliver the most genuine experiences a traveller can have.

Profit was never the whole point. We want the places our travellers go, and the people they meet along the way, to be better off for it – which is why we support charities and causes beyond the tours themselves. For every tour booked, we plant a tree through One Tree Planted.
