We will be staying in our well equipped permanent campsite with the option to camp out under the stars for those who want to experience our spectacular Central Australia night skies. During the tour we travel in our air conditioned 4WD mini bus. Food and sleeping gear is provided, all you need to bring is yourself and a sense of adventure!

Tour commences in Yulara (Ayers Rock Resort) on day 1 from 1-2pm and finishes in Yulara at approximately 12pm on day two, outbound flights should be booked after 12:30pm.

Itinerary
Day 1: Yulara/ Kata Tjuta/ Uluru
Uluru is the heart of Australia and represents so much about this country; its size, its beauty and its culture. Shortly after you arrive, the unmistakable Uluru will emerge from the earth as one giant boulder. Only a short drive awa, you’ll be able to walk off your lunch at Kata Tjuta (The Olga’s). With its 36 various-sized domes, it provides quite a contrast to Uluru. You’ll get to know the landscape pretty well on an afternoon hike between the domes. As the evening unfolds, enjoy a light snack as the sun slowly sets casting a variety of earthy tones across Uluru. The perfect end to a remarkable day is awaiting you back at camp, as you enjoy a delicious spread of food with your group. If the weather permits, sit outside under the stars.

Day 2: Uluru Sunrise
An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise as the sun hits the icon like a beacon, before the light floods the surrounding landscape. Your guide will take you to one of the significant cultural sights of Uluru, outlining Anangu rock art and passing on one of the creation stories of the site. While the morning is fresh, the time is yours to enjoy the self-guided, full base walk of Uluru, taking in all of the textures and valleys up-close, which isn’t evident from afar.

Special Information
The Anangu people have dissuaded visitors from climbing Uluru for decades; as traditional owners of the land they feel a deep responsibility for everyone who travels to the area. In 1998 we were among the first tour operators to stop climbing Uluru.

We did the day-and-a-half tour of the Red Centre taking in Uluru and Kata Tjuta in June and had a great time. As a family of five with three young adult children we were among many backpackers on this camping trip and had a blast. Three of us chose to sleep in swags under the stars and two were in tents. Our guide Shearna shared her knowledge of the area and Indigenous culture with real enthusiasm. They handled gluten free and nut allergies easily and kept insulin refrigerated. Recommended if you have only a short time in the Red Centre and enjoy camping.

“Great Adventure at Ulluru and Kata Tjuṯa Park”
In two days and one night you get a real flavour of Uluru, Kata Tjuta and outback life. The trip was professional and well organised, with camp manager Camile making our stay comfortable and homely. Our guide Asha was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, with a contagious team spirit.
A must-see place in Australia, and the Uluru overnight trip with Adventure Tours Australia was a great way to fulfil a dream. My only wish is that I had brought a head net to keep the flies off.
I did the one-night Red Centre and Uluru tour. Even though the weather was against us, this day-and-a-half trip was exceptional. I had the luck of seeing Uluru in the rain with waterfalls cascading down the rock, which is a breathtaking sight. A big thank you to our guides Simon and Lisa, who were welcoming and adapted the tour perfectly. I appreciated how they shared local insights while being respectful of Aboriginal culture and protocols.

I booked a camping tour of Uluru and it was excellent. My only regret is that I did not plan to stay longer. Hats off to our guide Sophie, who drove the van, ran the camp, set up the meals and snacks and kept us informed and on schedule, and who knew a great deal about Uluru and Aboriginal culture and how to be respectful at the sites. We covered a lot in just two days. The group of about fifteen were pleasant and considerate. The tents had no lighting of their own but each had power and USB ports for charging. The meals were good, with simple but filling breakfasts. The bathrooms were shared with other groups and not the cleanest, but still welcome.

We had a brilliant time exploring Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Betty was our guide and she was fantastic! She couldn’t have done more for us and her cheery, warm and friendly disposition really shone through. The safari tents were extremely comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised. “Australian Red Centre”
I recently did this tour (14th August 2022) and absolutely LOVED it. Matt was our tour guide and he was brilliant. We were very lucky to have a group that all got on really well. Uluru was spectacular but Kata Tjuta blew me away. There are days with hours of driving but the landscape is wild and beautiful.
“3 day Alice Springs to Uluru return”
We had a great 1.5 days on the tour, visiting Kata Tjuta and Uluru; learning a lot about the history and geology of them. Unfortunately, after the base walk around Uluru, I fell and hurt my head and had to be taken to hospital, thus ending the rest of the holiday. Help was given immediately by Damian - the tour leader, Bryar his assistant, Alex a nurse on our tour and John who was passing by (also in the medical profession). Arrangements were made by the Company for us to stay at Uluru again and to join another group for the evening meal and breakfast. Hunter from this group took us to the bus which was to take us back to our pre -booked hotel in Alice SpringsI. Luckily my injuries were not too serious and I could enjoy the last few days of my holiday in Australia. The Company followed up my accident to see that I was alright.

“Great small group tour”
I am so happy and pleased with my experience. Marc was such an excellent guide, probably the most pleasant and knowledgeable guide I have experienced. The group was also small, so Marc had plenty of time to attend to everyone and created a nice atmosphere in the group. I would highly recommend to go with Lost in Australia.
“2 Day: Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Guided Walk with Anangu”
Solo traveler: African American, Female - wanted to have a small group outback experience and this perfectly fit. On first day did the Walpa Gorge Walk at Kata Tjuta, visited the Anangu Cultural Center, and then sunset viewing at Uluru. Second day did Uluru sunrise base walk plus a guided walk with an Anangu guide and translator (this was the best part of the tour for me and really brought the place to life). Tour operators took good care of us, were very knowledgeable and respectful of the local history and culture.
Didn’t give 5 stars only because it was really, really, really hot (110-120 F)- of course not the tour company’s fault, but it made me question whether it was safe to be out and about in such hot temperatures. We were constantly encouraged to be drinking water, but still. Also even permanent tents were hot and uncomfortable with that type of heat, made for a sleepless night. Lastly, wasn’t clear regarding pickup...I was somehow under the impression I could only be picked up from Desert Gardens. Got to the hotel and tour company was late due to the actual airport pickup...again minor, but in that heat was a waste of energy.

Our guides Sarah and Hannah were great and knowledgeable.
The campsites were basic but fulfilled our needs. I’d recommend bringing lots of light layers as it can get very warm during the day and cold during the night.
The food was great.
The early start on the second day is definitely worth it to see the sunrise as you walk around the base of Uluru.
Only very slight negative I’d of like to of spent more time around Kata Tjuta but I understand when you only have 2 days you have to draw a line somewhere over what you do.

The Uluru tour was amazing, the tour guide was very accommodating and informative. We got changed last minute to a different tour, Way Outback, and the tour exceeded expectations.

Your email reminded me of the great time we had for the safari at Uluru. I am 73 and took my great nephew, Harry as a tenth birthday adventure. Yeas , we did look like an odd couple, and when we first booked I envisaged us carry our backbacks over difficult terrains in extreme conditions and sleeping in swags under the stars. But what a surprie. Our guide/driver was perfect with just the right amount of support, giving options, explaining difficulties and then giving us the responsibility for making up our own minds with how much we could cope with. We both loved the aboriginal guide at Uluru, sun rise was truly an intense spiritual experience for both of us, accomodation and bus travel very comfortable. Harry responded well to being the only child in the group especially being treated as an adult and given responsibibility. It was his choice to go to Uluru and as a cub scout sixer he thrives on being given responsibility. He certainly had an experience to last a lifetime and I was thrilled that I could share it so happily with him.

We loved every second of it. It was very well planned. The timing and tour details offered everything we could have wished for. Walking, Sunset, sunrise, more walking and the great aboriginal experiences. I would do it all over again, if I had time and money. Together with the GBR Uluru was my favourite OZ-Experience.
The Guide was very well experienced, the camp was nice and the food was good.

Hi! Loved the tour. Uluru was stunning. Our guide Karla was fabulous - very enthusiatic, knowledgable and well organised. Everything I had hoped for (although I'd recommend a three day tour, not a 2 day tour - too quick and a lot of driving in one day). Safety aspect a little dodgy! Only one guide who had to drive around 900km in one day and had the responsibilty of looking after everyone. All in all ...superb.

Hi there. Overall I enjoyed my trip. But there were a couple of things. 1. I was under the impression that we would be sleeping under the stars that's why I hired a sleeping bag which I didn't need. Very disappointed about that! 2. Two day trip was actually 24hours. 3. Late pick due to delayed flight arriving from Sydney. I know this can't be helped. 4. Although food was very nice if you didn't get in first there wasn't a lot of it.
“The Whole Experience!”
The tour was fantastic. Definitely enjoyed the whole experience. The tour guide, Matt, was great, he worked really hard to make it a great time for everyone.
Probably the only thing that would improve it was if the bus had have been air-conditioned. It was no big deal though, just kept all the windows open.
As I said, I really enjoyed it and would (and have been) recommending it to others.

The only regret was that I didn’t do the 3 day trip.
