On this 6 day journey we explore ancient aboriginal culture, hike, trek, eat good food, meet new friends and experience a truely authenic Australia adventure.
The journey from Adelaide to Alice Springs takes us to famous sites such as Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), Kings Canyon in Wattarka National Park and the opal mining town of Coober Pedy.

Itinerary
Day 1-2: Greyhound to Alice Springs
Today is an easy day as we depart for Alice Springs on our greyhound bus at 6pm from Adelaide. We arrive into Alice Springs at 3:30pm the following day where we check into our hostel accommodation and prepare for our adventure to Uluru.
***Add a stop at the famous mining town of Coober Pedy. Arrive into Coober Pedy at 6am on day 2 and spend a night sleeping in an underground hotel. Depart the next day at 6am to head to Alice Springs. This option will extend your itinerary by 1 day. Accommodation in Coober Pedy not included. Not possible on Weekends***
Day 3 - Ayers Rock
Your Outback Journey of a Lifetime starts at 6am from Alice Springs or around 1pm pickup at Ayers Rock Airport. We enjoy a fascinating road-trip to Uluru! Once the whole group is together, we explore the Cultural Centre, do a guided walk at Uluru, and enjoy a spectacular Uluru sunset with bubbly wine. Rest with a hot shower and a wholesome meal back at camp, then it’s an unforgettable sleep under the desert stars. Includes Lunch and Dinner.

Day 4 - Ayers Rock to Kata Tjuta National Park
Early breakfast before going to Kata Tjuta for a stunning Uluru sunrise. Hike through the Valley of the Winds, and feast on a refreshing lunch. Travel through the Outback, viewing the George Gill Range and more, before camping at Kings Creek Station. Here enjoy a real Aussie BBQ by a campfire, under those beautiful stars! Includes Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and refreshments.

Day 5 - Kata Tjuta National Park to Curtin Springs
After breakfast go to incredible Kings Canyon, and hike around the famous Rim Walk. Relax in the peaceful desert oasis, the Garden of Eden. Then back to Kings Creek Station for a relax, swim, or helicopter ride (charges apply). That night escape to our private bush camp at Curtin Springs Station. Capture sunset views of Mt Conner and enjoy your final night on tour, under the outback stars. Includes Breakfast, Lunch, dinner and refreshments.

Just completed my rock to rock tour with Sophie as our guide! Wow what an incredible trip, well spaced out, ticked all the main items I wanted to see. But by far the best part was Sophie our tour guide. Went above and beyond to make our trip special, cooked every single meal for us and was so incredibly knowledgeable about local culture and botany! The guides - Rachel and Nat - were wonderful! They were well organized and very knowledgeable about the sights, as well as a lot of fun, keeping up the energy and positive vibes! February in the outback is extremely hot, but our guides managed it well with early morning hikes, pool opportunities, and ensuring everyone stayed hydrated.

Highly recommend this tour, such an amazing way to experience the outback! It provides a great balance of sleeping under the stars and travelling in a vintage bus while enjoying nice food and the coldest pool in the NT. We had challenging weather conditions—first extreme heat, followed a bit of a rainy and windy storm. Our guide, Rachel, really went above and beyond to our schedules and activities to make sure that everyone still had a good time and stayed safe!

I think experience is excellent value for money. (Though the views and the stars in the Northern Territories would have been enough for me). It is a participation trip so helping out with meals, clearing up etc is required and in my opinion makes it better as you get to know your group and you get more out of it all.

Really had a fantastic trip, everything was top arranged and so many beautiful hikes done and sunrise / sunset seen. Sleeping in a swag under the stars was great. Our tourguide Olivia had everything top of mind and created a nice atmosphere during the whole trip. Our tour guide Olivia made us feel very safe, we experienced 44 degrees heat and she was very attentive to keep our team hydrated and safe. Always boosting moral when feeling tired. Nothing quite like camping under the stars and spending a few days with a great group of likeminded people enjoying true Australia who will go on to be some new good friends. The participation style tour really made me feel like i was at the funnest adult school camp ever and me and my mate had such a good trip. James was a sick guide and really made the time away from home special as, im already missing the tour one day later. We had an excellent time with Mulgas, touring the outback. We had many beautiful walks, scenic sunset viewings, and tasty Australian dinners. Although sleeping in the swag under the stars took some getting used to, it was an amazing experience in the end. Last but not least, our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and kind, and did a great job showing us around this part of Australia. Would definitely recommend!

Can not recommend this tour more! The stunning views to the amazing group camping environment it was unforgettable. Our tour guide Olivia's knowledge and care for the land we were one is admirable. She demonstrated such understanding of the Anangu people and their connection to all of the sacred sites around Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The tour required participation and we had a lot of fun cooking meals together and collecting firewood in the bush. Definitely a recommendation.

This trip was incredible - we loved every minute! The camping in swags was much better than expected - they were pretty comfy too.
Our guide Jason was amazing - knowledgable, got everyone involved and always made sure we all had fun. There was SO much food and it was always so tasty. I’m a vegetarian and there was so many meat alternatives - they don’t just give you a boring bean burger haha. We never went hungry as there was also so many snacks along the way.
Our group was fantastic. Everyone got on really well. Despite going with my partner, there were many solo travellers but we all mixed - if you’re a solo traveller, don’t worry. We were all one big group :)
We got picked up from Alice Springs right on time and dropped back off when the tour finished.
Only down side was the flies - 100% bring a fly net as they are lethal and in your face. However, they do disappear once sun sets. No cons for the actual tour though - the company were fantastic and we absolutely loved it.

“A Magical Weekend with Mulgas”
This trip was unlike anything I've ever experienced - truly magical. There is something about the outback, and Uluru-Kata Tjuta in particular that draws you in and leaves a mark on your heart. It was absolutely stunning, but better than the views was the fun group of travelers you get to meet and the even better guides. I had OLIVIA, and I could not be happier. She is so fun, kind, supportive, and genuinely in love with showing people the beauty of the land and culture. I absolutely loved having her, and will actually really miss her and her great energy! Everything about this trip was well planned, and well executed - from the food, to the bus rides, to the hikes, and more. It was a group effort to cook meals and clean, but it was surprisingly SO fun because music would be playing and everyone was always vibing. Watching the sun rise and set everyday was unforgettable. The last night in particular was spent with no electricity, and complete seclusion under the stars. It was unreal. So refreshing, so humbling. We danced and sang around the campfire, and laughed all night. I would not change a thing about my trip, and I would not recommend you look any further if you're interested in going to Uluru. Almost shed a tear when I had to leave. Thank you Mulgas, and thank you Olivia for one of my favorite trips ever!!!!

Did a tour with Olivia in October and had a blast! The itinerary was well designed and absolutely manageable. For the cost, could not get any better of an experience. Try true Aussie foods along the journey including camel burgers, kangaroo steaks, and of course Tim tams. Do things you'd never imagine like sleep in a swag under millions of stars and the Milky Way. Be careful about seasons when booking. Itinerary adjusts to accommodate hot weather but be reasonably fit and carry a lot of water! You must be willing to step outside your comfort zone on this tour and you will be rewarded!!!

By far the best and most organised tour I have ever done! Rachel did an excellent job as a guide and I couldn't have imagined anyone better. She is such a positive person and made us feel very welcome straight away. The many activities we did together really brought the group together and everyone was very sad to go our separate ways again at the end. The nature is also uniquely beautiful. Waking up to a starry sky every day is indescribable. Thank you Rachel for everything, the tour was worth more than 10/10
“A fantastic trip”
This tour was fantastic. It was brilliant to see Uluru but the area has so much more to offer - our hikes at Kata-Tjuta and Kings Canyon were just as special.
The tour was fast-paced with two very early starts but we had time to chill around the camp fire in the evening before getting into our swag bags for a night under the stars.
Rachel, our guide, did a great job of leading the tour. She is fun, personable and is very knowledgeable about the region. She brought the group together and kept us going during our drives between campsites with plenty of games and snacks!
All meals and snacks were adjusted for me as a vegan without any issue - just let them know in advance.
I rented a sleeping bag from Mulga’s which was clean and good quality. I travelled in August and needed plenty of layers of warm clothing (couple of long sleeve tops, a hoodie, leggings and a warm hat) to sleep in as it got cold overnight. I took a fly net but did not end up using it as the flies were not too bad at this time of year. A head torch was useful plus a quick drying camping towel and flip flops to use in the shower. You do not need to carry everything while you hike, so you can store your luggage on the trailer / at the campsite, while using a smaller day bag for your hiking essentials. We were able to charge devices at all campsites but a portable power bank would be useful as there is nowhere to charge your phone on the go.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants an adventurous trip to the outback!

Taylor shared her knowledge of the land with us and it was fascinating. I’ve been on many tours similar to this but the food was by far the best on this trip. We had plenty of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, but most importantly there were lots of snacks in between. This trip will be a highlight of my Australian experience.

Incredible trip to one of my favourite parts of Australia. The landscapes and scenery were otherworldly and the spiritual significance was obvious partly due to our guide Rachel and her expert storytelling of indigenous culture. I booked this camping trip to Uluru and Kings Canyon solo, and it was fantastic! Our guide, Laura, made the experience truly special. She was fun, full of laughs, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially about the Aboriginal history of the area.

I had been highly recommended this tour by a couple of people and it did not disappoint! Such an amazing experience seeing the outback. Had some early mornings but the sunrises were so worth it. I went to uluru rock to rock camping tour with mulga . That was the best experience I ever had. Our tour guide was Megan . She was awesome. She was super friendly to talk with . And she feed us with so much food . By the way the food over there is very expensive. We cook together , make fire together. And we watched the sun rise and sun set together. I met a lot of great people from over the world. Megan gave us so many trip tips , and feels like I was on holiday with a bunch of old ( new ) friends.

“Unforgettable Outback experience!”
It was my second time with Mulgas Tours and it is definitely wirth doing it! As the Uluru and the outback is an amazing place to see it is just as nice to experience the mulgas camping! Nice campfires at night, good food and real good entertainment by our guide Rachel!

The only negative thing about this tour was that it ended. Otherwise it was my best tour in Australia so far. Wow! The only word I can use to describe this tour was “magical.” The sites were above and beyond every expectation in terms of beauty, the hikes were incredibly rewarding, but what makes a tour really stand out is the organisation of the company and tour guide.
Laura was a professional, in every sense of the word, as our tour leader. She went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the group was looked after, involved and having a great time. Her expertise of the culture, history, natural landscape , flora and fauna, meant I walked away from this trip with knowledge and experiences I will have for a lifetime. Laura’s approach to making sure everyone was on schedule meant we had the privilege of seeing the sites from the best viewing spots and at the best times of day.

I went on the Mulgas Adventure Tour, and it was really amazing. Breathtaking views, saw the best sunset in my life with a DOUBLE RAINBOW!! And of course sleeping under shooting stars. Liv was as knowledgeable about the Outback as a dingo is about digging holes. If you're looking for an adventure that's more Aussie than a kangaroo playing the didgeridoo, Mulgas is your go-to! Liv even learned us the Nutbush dance! And we totally beat the other crew. Thanks Liv for one of the best experiences of my life.

We were well looked after with enough breaks on bus journeys, lots of nutritious food, and the essentials to survive the Outback! Olivia is such an enthusiastic and experienced person! I get my best graduation trip with her help. Everyone else on the tour is also incredibly nice. Can’t tell you which part is the best because every activity is amazing.

We had one of the last trips before the summer break. The heath was already there and because of that we had to wake up early in the morning. We have seen amazing sunrises because of that, our tour guide Liv made it extra fun and we won the famous dance battle.

“Unique experiences!”
Ewel, our tour guide, organised a wonderful once in a lifetime trip! He looked after us so noone would faint due to dehydration, cooked lovely food, told stories about the history, aboriginal people and Australian culture. He kept the plan open and it started raining which is really rare in Uluru, we went to see the beautiful waterfalls and the rainy Uluru. Would truly recommend this trip to everyone who has some adventure spirit in them and is open for some cool hikes, sleeping in the swags under the stars and in general for some unique experiences!

“Nice experience”
We probably had the worst weather, there were waterfalls coming down from Uluru, we were all wet and we couldn´t go to Kings canvon because the road flooded.
However our group took it with as much humor a possible, we were the 1% in the world who got to see Uluru with waterfalls and our tourguide Laura diud the best she could to make our experience worthwhile. We even got ice cream on our hot apple crumble!!!

We walked around Uluru and hiked through Kata Tjuṯa and Kings Canyon. Along the way lots of interesting information and photo opportunities.
You have to be fine with getting up really early, but therefore you get to see beautiful sunrises.
The food was delicious and sleeping around the campfire was nice. You could see the beautiful stars and the swags kept us really warm.
Overall an unforgettable trip that I can recommend!

This tour is a must do on a trip to Australia! Our guide Olivia was fantastic! She was so knowledgable about the local history and geography and brought so much fun to the group! We managed to see three sunsets and sunrises which were all equally special. All the hikes were stunning and I loved learning about all the local stories and about the plants and animals we saw. Sleeping out under the stars was surprisingly warm and comfortable and a memory I will always cherish! Highly recommend and thank you!

Just coming back from this tour and it has been pretty amazing. Had Simon as a tour guide and he's been the best! Very chill and hilarious. Food was great and we got to try different meats which was an interesting experience. Very well fed nonetheless.
The tour had just the amount of hiking for the non experienced and there was plenty of time to socialize and get to know each other instead of being strangers on a tour.

“Amazing Rock to Rock trip”
Had a great rock to rock camping trip with our guide Simon. He was a great guide and knew a lot about the places where we stayed and the areas we visited. Everything wad very well arranged, also the vegetarians meals. The pub quiz during a long ride, chocolate cake cooked on the camp fire, and breakfast in Swag were the cherries on the cake. The swags were surprisingly comfortable. Only the packing list we got upfront was not too clear and if we were able to bring our large backpacks or not (yes you can bring them but you have to put them in a storage. Take a smaller bag for the trip itself).

Terrific tour I would recommend to everyone who wants to visit all the special places such as Uluru, kutu Jaya and the kings Canyon. And who doesn't mind sleeping in the bush! But everybody should like sleeping in the bush, it's what made the experience very special and memorable to me.
The bus was well air-conditioned, comfortable enough and Simon (our tour guide) was very fun, friendly and helpful.

Without a doubt, the best thing I have done in Australia! Sleeping under the stars, watching sunrise/sunset over Uluru, eating dinner around the camp fire - truly hard to pick a favourite moment! Really impressed with how well organised and informative the tour was - we were picked up at 6am from our Hostel in Alice Springs and dropped back there once the tour ended whereas others flew in and out of Ayers Rock airport. “Great tour”
A great trip for anyone who wants to experience wild camping in the bush and sleeping under the stars. You get to see the amazing landscapes of kings canyon, and uluru, sunrises, sunsets, whilst doing hikes early to avoid the heat means plenty of time to chill in the middle of the day. it's a long drive to kings canyon and back but worth it, and bush camp on the last evening is an incredible experience.

This tour with Laura as a guide was breathtaking! A once in a lifetime experience to remember. We saw rainbows above the canyons, lightnings above Uluru, horses and dingo’s on the road and heaps of other indescribable magical views.
The tour is incredible well organized. Our guide is so experienced, that she knows how to react on the weather as well. We were sleeping outside under the stars, woke up early to catch the sunrises and to get ready for our hikes before the heat would kick in. When the rain came around, she knew what to do and made sure that we wouldn’t get soaked.
We went to the best places for a nice picture, were first in line for the parks and viewpoints and the music and humor at the bus was beyond! ;)
Don’t think twice before booking this tour. Don’t even think, just do it. You won’t regret!

Difficult to describe in a few words how incredible this trip was! In a small group we could build a wonderful human connection, our guide Janner created a really safe and enjoyable environment :) not to mention how surreal it was to go to sleep under the stars and wake up during the sunset in the middle of the outback. The food was also so tasty, even for vegos, Janner made sure we ate like kings and queens hehe :p definitely in my top 3 experiences!!!!!!

The tour is really amazing!! Is super complete you don’t miss anything and all the logistics are planned for you to have the best experience possible. Definitely the best part of this tour is the effort of Mulga’s staff to make you feel satisfied. If you would like to experience Uluru and the complete area (including Kings Canyon) to the fullest, Mulgas is highly recommended. Our tour guide, Olivia (but since we’re friends already we may call her Liv :-) ) knows the way, history and culture of the Aboriginal people. This all was of great added value to our trip, which on itself was a real adventure.
‘Sleeping under the stars’ is an amazing experience, however this can turn out to be ‘sleeping under the rain drops’.
Great hikes, dinner with people you don’t know but who you learn to know very fast: this is a no-brainer for us if we will ever return to Uluru.
