What trips go from Adelaide, and where can you get to?
Adelaide is the best-connected small city in Australia for overland travel. From here you can reach Kangaroo Island in a day, Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road in 2 or 3, Uluru in 5 to 7, and Perth across the Nullarbor in 10. From $195.

Adelaide is a quiet city that happens to sit at a crossroads. North goes up the Stuart Highway to the centre, east along the coast to Melbourne, west across the Nullarbor to Perth, and south is an island most people have not heard of and should have.
South — Kangaroo Island
A ferry and a coach away, and the one trip from Adelaide nobody regrets. Seal Bay puts you on a beach among wild Australian sea lions with a Parks officer.

East — Melbourne along the coast
The run to Melbourne goes the scenic way, taking in the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians rather than the inland highway.

|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Day Adelaide to Perth Tour | 10 days, 9 nights | Adelaide / Perth | $2450 |

If you only have a day or two
- Kangaroo Island, every time. It is about a 16-hour day from Adelaide and back, and the ferry is included.
- The Barossa Valley is the gentler option, and pairs with the island on the two-day trip.
- Two days towards Melbourne gets you the Great Ocean Road as a one-way trip rather than a loop, which is better value if you are moving on anyway.
