Our 2 Day Melbourne to Adelaide experience is the best showcase of the must-see highlights of Victoria's premier destinations, taking in the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians. Your accommodation is deep within the Grampians National Park at Halls Gap, surrounded by bushland and stunning mountain landscapes, before you travel on to Adelaide, the city of churches.
Day 1: Melbourne to the Great Ocean Road
Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Great Ocean Road and discover the remarkable rock formations of the iconic Twelve Apostles. Learn the tragic tale of the Shipwreck Coast, visit the hidden beach of Loch Ard Gorge, and stop along the way to search for native Australian wildlife. Discover some of the world's tallest trees as you explore the ancient, beautiful rainforest of the Great Otway National Park.

Day 2: Grampians to Adelaide
On the second day, wake to the amazing views and kangaroos of the Grampians National Park, an area rich in Aboriginal culture set in a beautiful, rugged landscape. The Grampians bushland is home to an abundance of Australian flora and fauna, and its hiking trails and waterfalls leave a lasting impression. After an incredible two days exploring the coastline and mountain ranges, we make our way to Adelaide, arriving around 7:30pm.

“The perfect way to travel from Melbourne to Adelaide”
Our guide, Ben, was fantastic – incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and easygoing. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and included, and he shared loads of great insights along the way.
The itinerary was well-paced, with plenty of stops to take in the highlights of the Great Ocean Road, and then into the Grampians for amazing scenery. The highlight of the trip was the wildlife, including wallabies, kangaroos, and an unexpected extra stop where we saw echidnas, koalas and emus. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and in a great location for exploring the Grampians.
If you’re travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It’s a brilliant way to turn a long journey into an unforgettable experience.
“Gun guide, good group and excellent tour”
I attended the tour in September, when spring still reigns - will recommend a little later for more stable weather. The trip lasted 3 days and we had the flexibility to see everything and take the trip at our pace on the activities that meant the most. I could have seen few changes in the activities from the company side - therefore 4 stars. That being said, then a warm shout out to Ben “Benny” our guide, which deserved 5 stars! He was really good, funny, informative, spotted the animals for us and arranged for a good trip from start to finish for everyone.

We actually took the tour that began in Adelaide and finished in Melbourne, over 3 days/2 nights. We saw so many amazing sights, including waterfalls and The Pinnacles in the Grampians. We also had many beautiful stops along the Great Ocean Road and some wonderful animal viewing as well. The tour was great, but was made 10x better by our funny, warm and all around delightful driver/tour guide James. He did an amazing job thoughtfully meeting everyone’s individual needs, from food issues to differing activity limitations, he made sure each guest was comfortable, happy and safe at all times. Kudos to James!

I really enjoyed the tour, we saw many things and our Tour guide (Misty) was great! She made it just a wholesome trip for everyone and had also some interesting knowledge. My husband and I traveled from Melbourne to Adelaide with Autopia’s 3 day tour. I can’t say enough about our guide, Janet (J-Dog). She was kind, caring, informative, interesting, funny, and a wonderful driver. The sites were amazing, the hikes were perfect and just the right amount (a few 4-6 km hikes, some with hills/stairs), all to fantastic views. We saw koalas in the wild, kangaroos, an echidna, snakes, you name it. The group ranged from 20s to 70s, and everyone got along well, and Janet helped keep the group super-engaged and connected to each other. A wonderful trip.

Fortunately, it was the later in the case of the 2 day melbourne to adelaide tour I joined departing on the 26th Dec 2016.The great ocean road, especially, the shipwreck coast, was stunning and deserving of its reputation. The grampians was also surreally beautiful veiled by mists.And Tim, our tour guide, was a gentleman, a scholar, a poet, a comedian, and a great ambassador for Australia. “Gorgeous Scenery, Terrific Guide, Great Views Of Wildlife”
On my 2 day Melbourne-Adelaide tour I saw beautiful vistas on the Gold Coast, a gorgeous rainforest, koalas sleeping in trees, kangaroos grazing and jumping, emus walking in the field, many native birds, and learned about everything from regeneration after bush fires to the unique contributions of Australia's First Nations. Our fun, energetic, and knowledgeable guide Henning is a biologist who shares his passion for Australia and loves to help others experience it. We were well-fed and arrangements were smooth. So glad I went on this fabulous tour, and highly recommend it!

We went on this trip for the great ocean road and a trip to Adelaide but it turned out to be so much more than we expected:- incredible tour guide, very knowledgeable, passionate and hard working- Got to see lots of kangaroos, some koalas and birds- Plenty of photo opportunities and a tour bus which is small enough to meet people and make friendsOverall would highly recommend this if you want to do the GOR. We were going to drive it ourselves but this turned out to be a much better alternative and we don't feel that we missed anything at all!

What a wonderful experience that Great Ocean Road is ,,, we traveled with our caravan and enjoyed a leisurely drive from Melbourne ending up in Adelaide , Caravan parks are a delight to stay in and the views along the drive was spectacular ..We highly recommend this trip
and please take a picnic and drinks with you then you can pull in and stop in one of the numerous pull ins ..
““Loved, Loved, Loved the 2-Day Tour Melbourne-Adelaide”
I had two great and enjoyable days with loads of fun, great sights, miserable weather though :) and lots of information! I've booked the 2-Day-Tour from Melbourne to Adelaide on Saturday for departure yesterday. The lady at the phone was very lovely and didn't mind my booking five minutes before the offices closed :) THANK YOU! :)
I've got picked up punctual and directly from the hostel I was staying in by friendly and being-in-a-very-good-mood driver Chris. Great start. He really made our journey less long with lots of jokes, funny stories and loads of information about the area. I found him very knowledgable and due to his age way more entertaining and 'close to the group-age' than other drivers I came across. He was also pretty relaxed but still ensured the safety on the tour and made sure no one got out-of-line too much. Overall a very great trip. We drove the three sections of the Great Ocean Road, saw everything on the tour schedule and since we were pretty punctual we even made a couple of additional photo-stops along the way which were highly appreciated. The overnight accommodation in the Grampians-Nationalpark was very basic but lovely. We had heaters in each room to keep us warm, a nice kitchen and a hot shower and everything was very tidy and clean!
We went koala- and kangaroo spotting as well and saw heaps of both!
The transfer to Adelaide is actually pretty easy. Chris dropped us off in Stawell and made sure we didn't miss the bus. It brought us to Horsham where we hopped on the 2pm one to Adelaide (still a 6 hour journey).
I was very happy with the sights provided, the accommodation, the lunch and breakfast and would definitely recommend the company. If you are in your twenties to thirties (no matter if backpacker or tourist) ...go with Chris!!!! You'll enjoy the tour for sure!!!
