The Whitsunday group of islands off the northeast Queensland coast is, as the clichè goes, a tropical paradise. Join us on a Whitsunday tour and explore the 74 islands that make up this stunning archipelago are really the tips of mountain tops jutting out from the Coral Sea, and from their sandy fringes the ocean spreads towards the horizon in beautiful shades of crystal, aqua, blue and indigo.
Sheltered by the Great Barrier Reef, there are no crashing waves or deadly undertows, and the waters are perfect for sailing.
Of the numerous stunning beaches and secluded bays, Whitehaven Beach stands out for its pure white silica sand. It is undoubtedly the finest beach in the Whitsundays, and possibly one of the finest in the world.
Airlie Beach, on the mainland, is the coastal hub and major gateway to the islands. Only seven of the islands have tourist resorts – catering to every budget and whim from the basic accommodation at Hook Island to the exclusive luxury of Hayman Island. Most of the islands are uninhabited, and several offer the chance of back-to-nature beach camping and bushwalking.

Sam, our skipper, knew all the best spots for snorkelling and the calmest overnight anchorages, and he was good fun to be around. Rachel cooked us plenty of varied, excellent meals and nothing was ever too much bother. With four couples aboard, each with an ensuite, the boat felt comfortable and roomy. I'd happily recommend this crew and this boat.

18th October 2025 - 2 Day Whitsunday Sailing - Habibi
We saw dolphins, turtles, a baby shark and stingrays, and it was the most colourful snorkelling I've done. The food was good and the crew made it, with Captain Luis, Hana and Andrea keeping everything running smoothly. Worth knowing there's no shower, so bring wet wipes, and pack something warm for the night. It isn't a five-star hotel, but sleeping under a sky full of stars with the waves and wind makes up for it.

Two brilliant days in the Whitsundays with great weather and smooth sailing. We saw lemon sharks, rays, turtles, monitor lizards and all sorts of fish, including my first ever cuttlefish. Isak and Roman were fantastic and made our family Christmas one we will all remember.
