“Wonderful day in Chillagoe!!!”

1st May 2025 - 1 Day Chillagoe & Outback Tour

The Skybury Cafe morning tea was an unexpected, refreshing treat — excellent coffee and amazing scones with papaya syrup and fresh cream. The ranger at the caves was very informative and the caves were interesting and easy to walk (each person got their own torch). Balancing Rock was a bit of a climb but doable, and we saw some Aboriginal art and guinea fowl. Lunch at the Chillagoe pub was very good, and the visit to the incredibly cute rock wallabies was an amazing close-up highlight and a perfect end to the day.

Fraser Island was my favourite. We drove the 4WD on the beach and I could not believe this was real. Lake McKenzie also — the water is so clear it looks like someone has filled it with glass. I would tell every German traveller coming to Australia to do this package. It is worth every dollar.

Ich habe dieses Paket nach langem Überlegen gebucht und es war definitiv die beste Entscheidung meiner Reise. Alles war perfekt organisiert — die Busse, die Hostels, die Touren. Man muss sich um nichts kümmern und kann einfach genießen. Für jemanden der alleine reist ist das ein riesiger Vorteil.Fraser Island war absolut unglaublich. Der Lake McKenzie hat ein Wasser so klar, dass man kaum glauben kann, dass es echt ist. Und die Whitsundays — ich habe keine Worte dafür. Whitehaven Beach muss man einfach gesehen haben. Ich empfehle dieses Paket jedem der Australien bereisen möchte, ohne sich um die Logistik zu kümmern.

The tour highlights are exactly as described. K'gari was a proper adventure — driving 4WDs along 75 Mile Beach, swimming in Lake McKenzie, camping under the stars. The Whitsundays sailing was three days of pure bliss. And the Great Barrier Reef, even for someone who's snorkelled in a fair few places, was genuinely awe-inspiring. The guides across all the tours were knowledgeable and enthusiastic without being overbearing.
