How do I get to K'gari (Fraser Island)?
By 4WD and barge, from Noosa, Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay — and the ferry is included on every trip. You cannot take a normal hire car: there are no sealed roads on the island. Trips run from $299, with pick-up from your accommodation.

K'gari is the largest sand island in the world and has no sealed roads at all. That means two things: you need a 4WD to get around it, and you need a barge to get to it. Every trip we sell handles both.
The three departure points
- Noosathe furthest south. Pick-ups start from about 5:25am because of the drive up the beach to the crossing at Inskip Point.
- Rainbow Beachthe closest mainland town to the southern crossing, so the shortest run and a later start.
- Hervey Baythe northern option, crossing from River Heads at 8:30am daily. Accommodation pick-up included.

Can you drive yourself?
- Not in a standard hire carmost rental agreements prohibit it outright, and it would not get far anyway.
- Self-drive trips existwhere you take the wheel of a 4WD in a convoy with a guide, which is the middle option.
- The tides set the timetable.75 Mile Beach is only drivable around low tide, which is why trip times move.
