As Fraser Island’s only private campground, Cathedrals on Fraser offers a lush and pristine setting situated on 25 acres.
Some of the highlights we'll explore are Seventy Mile Beach, Lake McKenzie, Lake Eli, Champagne Pool, and the famous Indian Head. This means plenty of swimming, trekking, relaxing & learning about the islands flora and fauna.

Accommodation
- 2 nights camping at Pippies camp on Fraser Island, on one of the only privately owned campsites on the island. Hot showers and toilets are in an amenities block a short walk from the tents, and there are power points for charging.
Transport
- You drive one of the air-conditioned Toyota 4WDs yourself, in a tag-along convoy behind an experienced guide. The barge from Inskip Point and a transfer from your Rainbow Beach accommodation are both included.
Meals
- Two breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners. The dinners are cooked together at camp — a barbecue on the first night and spaghetti bolognese on the second. Vegetarians are catered for.

We had the most amazing experience with Pippies and are so glad we chose them over other companies after things that backpackers in hostels have told us about other tours. Kev was the best tour guide ever he made us feel safe, went above and beyond to look after us and made the experience 1000 times better for us all, he was amazing!! The showers and toilets are clean, the food was great and we never went hungry! It was definitely a highlight of our trip and I’m so glad we did it with Pippies

My your guide was Luke. An absolute gentleman of a man and an absolute legend. From start to finish he was full of interesting facts, it was really cool to learn stuff I didn’t know. Could not recommend anyone more than to go with pippies and especially Luke. In Newcastle we would call him a pure belter person. Hopefully bump into him again for a few beers and a chat about those pesky dingos. CAR ONE FOR THE WIN

This was such an amazing experience. MASSIVE shout out to our tour guide Jamie, he was so fun and extremely accommodating. You could really tell that he wanted everyone to safely have the best time possible and he successfully achieved that!! We went to several stunning locations, the camping area was very nice and we were fed super well. Would highly recommend to anyone.
“Incredible multi-day trip”
This trip was absolutely incredible. We were a small group compared to other tours and this made the trip even better. The stops on the island were incredible including two lakes, safe rock pools to swim in and even the lazy river. Even all of the driving was so scenic and just amazing. Wildlife was in abundance, toads,dingoes, spiders and lizards to name a few. The food was amazing, you never went hungry and both the hot and cold meals were of a great standard. Camping area is basic, but brings the group together on a night toasting marshmallows on a fire. Special mention to our tour guide Lee who was outstanding from start to finish, making sure we all had a great time and telling us plenty of stories along the way. Highly recommended

I had an amazing time at Fraser Island with this tour. Our tour guide, Scott, was super friendly and helpful. The group was small (only 17 people) which made it even better since you could talk to and get to know everyone. There was also a good range of ages of people (20-33) and we had good fun together. We had one bigger night and another quieter one, so it balanced itself quite well.
The only thing I would have changed is to stay longer in Lake Mackenzie and less at the shipwreck.

We had the best time on K’Gari with Pippies, wouldn’t change a thing! The trips out were sooo good, even with heavy rain on our day at Lake Wabby it was still so much fun. I would definitely recommend driving it was such a fun experience! Kev was amazing, he was so knowledgeable about the island, couldn’t do enough for us and was making us laugh the whole time. “Off-road Experience”
I went with my wife, two adult children and my son's girlfriend. It took me a few goes to find a trip that would take me and my wife, who are both over 60. Pippies does not have silly "under 35s" rule. What I would say, is that you need a reasonable level of fitness, be prepared for some less than five star accommodation and join in with the banter. The 4x4 driving is quite tough and you do get shaken about. We consider this to be one of the highlights of our trip to Oz. Cory deserves a special mention - he keeps things moving along like the best kind of mate. Everyone (who wants to) gets a go at driving and it's really good fun. I'd definitely recommend this tour.

If you are traveling the east coast this is a must do for me. We have been to Fraser for 3 days & 2 nights and we’re lucky to have Corey as our guide there. He’s an absolut legend. The whole group had constantly so much fun while traveling through this beautiful island to amazing spots. If you are able to drive by your own I highly recommend to choose the self driving option. It was just perfect. GO FOR IT !!

Not Pippies fault however the only negative would be as a solo traveller, a lot of the wider group were already travelling together (few groups of 4+) - potentially there could be a tour for solo/duo travellers as I did feel there to be a slight divide in the group.

Absolutely loved every single second and our tour guide Scott was incredible and gave us amazing insight into the Island.
You are camping so do prepare for insects whilst you’re on the Island and at Camp.
The weather we had was incredible and I felt we had more than enough time at all the places we visited: Lake Mackenzie, Champagne Pools, Shipwreck and floating down the creek to name a few.
The stars on the Island were the best I’ve seen in my life and the people you meet will make the experience even better.
The food was really good and you will make it together with your camp.
You can drive the 4x4 on the Island if you want to and it’s a fantastic experience but you do need to be a confident driver as you’re responsible for 7 other passengers.
June is a fantastic time to go if you get the opportunity and would highly recommend Pippies above all others!!

“Incredible tour, incredible people”
Where do I even begin?! This was the most incredible weekend. We were chaperoned around the island by Kevin (k-dog) and he was brilliant. He kept us all safe and ensured we worked as a team to make this the best experience. Wazza was also so so kind and funny. Sitting around the campfire with these two was one of my favourite parts of the trip. These guys have a hard time keeping 31 of us in check and they did it with ease. Our group was amazing and I have made some friends for life on this tour and memories to last a life time. The organisation was brilliant and made everything so much easier for us. THANK YOU PIPPIES!!! Highly recommend anyone to go to k’gari with this company. You won’t regret it.

“Gluten Free Queen”
The food was amazing, the gluten free freaks got the exact same meal as everyone else with yummy alternatives. I will be sourcing the noodles, garlic bread and pancakes as they were the nicest GF/ dairy free stuff I’ve ever had! Allergens got to get their food first at every meal time so that nothing got mixed up. Bathrooms were nice too and there was a good merch shop near the camp.

Our tour guide Kev was wonderful he made sure everybody felt comfortable driving and kept us entertained on the radio. Driving the cars was so much fun and we met such wonderful people. Each car cooks a different meal over the course of the 3 days which is a great team bonding experience. The tents were sheltered and everybody was provided with everything they needed for their tents. A wonderful way to spend 3 days in K’Gari and I would highly recommend doing it you won’t regret it. “Unforgettable K’Gari”
An unforgettable experience with Pippies for the K’gari adventure I cannot recommend this enough. Everything about it was incredible from the start to the finish. The tour guide Kevin was not only knowledgeable, funny and made sure everyone had a good time and felt at ease. The food was so nice too and cooking with people you meet was a fun addition too. No internet on the island so you really got to know your group and this just added to the experience. As I said I can’t recommend this enough we had an incredible group of people, an incredible tour guide. The driving of the cars can be daunting but it was most definitely a highlight of the trip. It was my highlight of my Australian adventure. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did and if you are with Kevin tell him I said Hi.
“Best was to experience Fraser”
This trip was a great was to experience Fraser Island. We got Jamie as our tour guide who was great! All of the food over the 3 days was great. Proper camp style meals where everyone chips etc. The driving was a personal highlight for me, there is lots of beech driving and off road tracks in the jeeps. Wazza also needs a shout out, he is on the island all year round looking after the camp etc. Very sound man with some great stories.

Camp was really well set up with great facilities and comfy sleeping arrangements! Well fed throughout with delicious food.
My friend who did drive did say the driving was a more challenging than expected so be prepared if you’re driving!

We loaded up and set off at 6am after meeting our guide Corey who stayed with us the whole trip.

Amazing experience from start to finish. Best trip of my Australian travels over the last year and a half! Our tour guide Scotty was a fantastic, very knowledgeable tour guide, he organised our 3 day tour extremely well with ample time at each tourist attraction despite some rainy periods. He answered all our queries and it was clear he is very proud to know K’gari so well. He also ensured great camp moral! Food was excellent and camp ground facilities were very well maintained. Can’t fault anything 10/10, a must do.

“Mosey on down to Fraser Island”
We’ve had the best time on Fraser Island, the only thing I didn’t like were the flies our tour guide who was called Nathan/Nate was the most loveliest person ever. He was so helpful and so much fun, always answered any questions we had. We were lucky to be in the same car as him the whole time as it felt like we were VIP guests being able to ask questions the others couldn’t. If I was to ever go again I would definitely request Nate, he felt more like a mate rather than a guide and was absolutely hilarious!
I’m actually going to miss being on the island and not having a care in the world. It was great to not have wifi, I liked looking around and seeing everyone chatting rather than being on their phones.
So a massive massive thank you to Nate for the best few days, I hope you enjoy your Doritos I left you! (something to remember me by)

The food is amazing and filling. Shower and pillows were included unlike other tours which is an advantage. Made friends for life and a great way to meet people. We really just enjoyed every moment and activity. A highlight to our East Coast trip.
One note ... pippies please do tops we could buy as souvenirs at the end! With your company name and KGari island and date.. anything. (Many backpackers have collected these from previous activities across Asia and Australia, would have been a great addition to have Pippies!!!)

2 nights camping in a comfortable, well equipped & clean campsite, including flushing toilets & showers which was a huge luxury that other tour companies don't offer! Visited all the sites on the itinerary as planned & enjoyed delicious home cooked food 3 times a day!

Did this tour with my friend last weekend and it was honestly class! Driving in a 4x4 down the beach and through the tropics - what an experience. Our tour guide was Scott and what a great guy, proper good laugh. Campsite and food was also 10/10 (bonus points for the rave cave). Would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about doing it. Well where do I begin with this review…
This tour was by far the best thing I’ve done on the East Coast and I’ve got to say thanks to our tour guide Scott.
From the moment the tour began to the moment we got back to rainbow beach it was packed with fun.
A highlight for me was being able to explore the island in a 4x4 with people who started out as strangers and then becoming friends.
The spots that you get to visit through pippies are amazing.
Throughout the tour, Scott was ensuring that we were all clued up on the history of the island which was great to learn!
The food we got provided for was really tasty and the campsite was well equipped with everything you’d need!
My favourite parts was definitely Lake McKenzie and of course the rave cave!
Once again thanks to Scott and pippies for making this trip a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Even though the weather wasn't optimal, the sun blessed us at the right times so we could experience Fraser Island in all its glory. Awesome place on earth, awesome tour and awesome guide!
Cory guided us very professionally across beach and trickier inland roads, which made it feel very safe and all the more fun. The places you see and where you swim here are amazing. The facilities and the food are both good, bring some extra snacks for yourself.

Loved our time on Fraser Island. Our tour guide, Kev, was great. He knew a lot about the island, was super friendly and was excellent and helping the drivers figure out how to drive on the sand which was a first time experience for everyone.
Campsite was nice, sleeping two to a tent. Toilet facilities very clean and showers very good. We were vegetarian and there were a few dairy/gluten intolerant people and all were catered for no problem. Fraser island/K'Gari itself was stunning. Overall , loved my experience here.

He was so knowledgable about the islands history and animals and he made us all feel safe and comfortable. The food was great and the campsite was lovely, nice clean toilets and showers, hammocks and cooking facilities. Even a little rave cave for those who want to stay up and drink at night without disturbing others. You’ll see all the great sites on the island and there’s plenty of opportunities to try driving the 4wd if you want to.
Can’t recommend more whether you’re solo or in a couple/ group! You’ll make great friends and have an amazing time.

We had an amazing time on the 3 day 2 nigth trip to Fraser Island with Pippies.
Great group of people, great locations and Jonesy our guide was top notch(one of the funniest people we have ever met)!
We really enjoyed being of the grid and being outdoorsy. This trip was definitely the highlight of our trip to Australia. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

This trip was awazing! We have explored the island with the 4x4 cars which was really cool experience. I can only recommend pippies! Our guide Scott was super! he put so much effort to make those days amazing. 10 out of 10! so far the best place I have been in Australia

Had the most amazing 3 days! Jonesy was hilarious and made our trip 10 times better, and was nice for someone to appreciate my Spanish tunes jaja! Deffo drive in one of the cars if you can and if you can’t, driving around with the tour guide is also amazing! And don’t stress too much about the wildlife, I was quite nervous of the snakes and spiders but we barely saw anything, and the spiders are far away and harmless most of the time. The camps were clean and so were the toilet facilities (hot showers :0!) Deffo book with pippies if you can! And I hope you get king jonesy, and if you harass him just enough he might tell you some of his amazing stories!!
“Amazing experience with an amazing tour guide (Scott)!”
Quite easily one of the best trips I’ve ever done! Loved every minute of it and would do it all over again in a heart beat. Our tour guide, Scott, was amazing. Extremely funny and helpful. Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to do K’gari (Fraser) island.
