Day 1: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Today, there's an early start to catch your 6.45 am SeaLink bus transfer from Adelaide CBD to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. Board the ferry for a 45-minute cruise to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Your Guide will meet you here and give you an overview of the adventure ahead for the next few days. Throughout your tour, you'll also have the opportunity to become a citizen scientist and contribute to conservation efforts and research on the island in partnership with Passport to Recovery. You can download the App on the way over on the ferry, so you're ready to go!
Hop on board the bus and take a scenic coastal drive to Pennington Bay on the island's south coast. With powerful swells rolling in, this beach is famed for its epic surf breaks. Climb the 500 steps to the top of Prospect Hill, the highest point on Kangaroo Island, for rewarding views and to get your bearings.
Kangaroo Island is the world's oldest bee sanctuary and is home to the only pure strain of Ligurian Bee in the world. Pop into a honey farm to learn all about these fascinating creatures and, of course, do a tasting. We'll have a picnic lunch here before setting off to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery and family-owned Dudley Wines, where you can sprawl out on their lush lawns and take in the incredible views over the ocean - the perfect place to relax and connect with your fellow travellers.
Come late afternoon, arrive at our campsite, aptly named "Happiness". Featuring private access to one of Kangaroo Island's most stunning beaches - Antechamber Bay, you'll be right at home here for the next two nights. Enjoy some free time to relax or take a walk down to the beach.
Tonight, roll out your swag underneath the billions of stars of the Milky Way and feel an incredible connection with nature.

Day 2: Kangaroo Island
After breakfast, it's time for an incredible wildlife encounter. Seal Bay is home to the third-largest colony of endangered Australian sea lions, with around 800 calling the bay home. Join a 45-minute tour with the National Parks & Wildlife guides, who know pretty much everything there is to know about these beautiful creatures. Follow a boardwalk through the dunes down to the beach, and on the way, pass sea lions snoozing or even lying in the middle of the beach path and learn about conservation efforts to save this endangered species.
Next, we'll set our coordinates for the iconic Flinders Chase National Park, located at the northwestern point of the island. This park is renowned for its rock formations, impressive beaches, and abundant wildlife.
At Admirals Arch, wander along a boardwalk as you soak up the serenity and keep your eyes peeled for the resident New Zealand fur seals. Marvel at the Remarkable Rocks, shaped by nature for over 500 million years.
After a full day, head back towards camp for some free time to reflect and relax before dinner.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
Start the final day of your tour with a morning bush walk not far from camp, and after packing up, we'll bid farewell to Happiness. Along the quiet north coast of the island, find spectacular bird life in the lagoon's shallow, calm waters and trees. Here, we will find a spot to have our final meal together, followed by a nice stroll along the water, looking for the many different species that inhabit the American River. In the warmer months, weave your way through a labyrinth of caves before emerging at the beach voted best in Australia in 2023 – Stokes Bay. If the weather is right, enjoy some free time to snorkel among the rock pools or soak up the surrounding landscape.
The National Trust of South Australia cares for the world's natural and built heritage and relies on the support of volunteers to protect and preserve special places. So, this afternoon, roll up your sleeves for some conservation volunteering at Zelling Reserve—an important wildflower sanctuary preserving native flora on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island. Our activity depends on the time of year but could involve collecting seeds, weeding or planting trees whilst learning from their passionate volunteers.
After a fabulous Kangaroo Island tour, arrive in Penneshaw for your 5.30 pm ferry back to the mainland. Once you arrive in Cape Jervis, your SeaLink bus connection will have you back in Adelaide at 9 pm.

I had the most amazing time on my three-day, two-night trip from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island. The island is gorgeous — rich in wildlife, full of beautiful scenery and quiet moments — and the tour was well organised, with all meals provided, dietary needs cared for, and a sleeping bag available to hire from the company. The overarching success was our incredibly knowledgeable, personable and attentive guide Steve — nothing was too much trouble, whether we wanted extra stops, itinerary changes or new activities. Couldn't recommend it more.

We spent a unique three-day tour on Kangaroo Island. Everything was superbly organised, and our guides Cass, Hannah and Bella turned it into a fantastic experience — their warm personalities and huge knowledge of the island and of Australia meant the whole group had a wonderful time. We had a great three-day tour of Kangaroo Island. Elliot was an excellent guide — you could really tell how much he loves and respects nature, he knows everything there is to know, and he's hilarious. The camp was great, with comfortable swags and plenty of space and good facilities for cooking and showering. As a smaller group, we had time for Elliot to spontaneously show us some more secret spots for wildlife and private beaches, and it was a lovely touch to do a little conservation work to leave the island in better shape. An unforgettable tour with Elliot — we saw Kangaroo Island in three days, probably the best and most affordable way to experience it as a solo traveller. The swags were in good condition and everything was well organised, relaxed and paced so we saw wonderful spots across the island. We loved our tour! Our guide Eli was amazing and the experiences on Kangaroo Island were incredible — we saw so many animals. The food choices were great, including the vegetarian ones. It's a little pricey, but that's mostly the cost of the ferry to the island; take that away and it's fair value. Would definitely come back, and highly recommend.

So much more than I'd hoped for! Gianna is an amazing guide — informative and fun, with nothing too much to ask. With a small group she could be flexible with our itinerary across the three days, the meals were delicious, and we saw so much of the island in a short time. Easily the best tour company to travel with. Our ferry from Kangaroo Island was cancelled the night before we were due to start another of their tours to Uluru, and they delayed that tour's departure to accommodate us — absolutely exceptional. Our guides for both trips were amazing.
Loved the three-day Kangaroo Island adventure. The weather wasn't the best — it rained most of the trip — but that didn't dampen the experience: our guide adjusted the itinerary to suit the conditions and it worked perfectly. When the ferry was cancelled on the first day, the company got us onto a flight to the island the same day. We saw many animals and birds and the most rainbows I've ever seen, the meals were great, and our knowledgeable, accommodating guide led the group really well. I'd travel with them again.

Kangaroo Island over three days was an amazing experience — colder than I expected, so go prepared for fluctuating weather. Our guide Emily was funny, a great guide, and accommodated all the group's needs, and our departure was moved to the evening so we really did get three full days. Lovely.

The trip was very fun and we got to see many amazing places, stunning beaches and we met some very cute kangaroos! Sean, our driver and tour guide, was great and made sure everyone felt included. There were definitely many hours spent on the bus driving, but everyday we had the opportunity to go on a hike/or long walk and swim in the ocean, which was a great balance. The food was also very good. I'm vegan and I always had delicious options made for me. Overall, I would recommend this trip
A great, full-on tour. Just be aware the nights were cold in early-to-mid September, so a tent option to supplement the swags would be welcome for spring trips — but the tour itself was excellent.
