Best time to visit Margaret River

Nov to MarchAnd March and November are the sweet spots.

November to March, and March and November are the sweet spots. Margaret River has a Mediterranean climate: January and February average 27°C with about 12mm of rain, while July gets 194mm. March (26°C, 28mm) and November (23°C, 35mm) give you nearly the same weather with far fewer people. September and October bring the wildflowers, and winter is green, quiet and made for the cellar doors and the caves. A day trip from Perth with lunch and tastings is from $259.

Checked on 28 October 2026.

Margaret River sits in the south-west corner of Western Australia, and its year splits cleanly in two: dry, warm summers and wet, mild winters. Neither half is a bad time to go. They are different trips.
