When is the best time to visit Perth and Western Australia?
September to November, and it is the wildflowers that decide it. Spring brings mild days around 20 to 26°C, the rain gone, and the biggest wildflower bloom on earth. North to Ningaloo is April to October; summer in Perth itself is hot and bone dry at 10mm a month.
Checked on 6 October 2026.
Perth has a Mediterranean climate — dry summers and wet winters — which is the opposite of the tropics up north. That means the best time to be in Perth and the best time to go north are not quite the same, and spring is where they overlap.
