One of the strangest natural formations in the world, the Pinnacles of Western Australia are limestone formations contained within Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes. Visit for 1 day, or pass through on a larger adventure, either way this amazing landscape will stay with you forever.
Until the 1960's when it was added to teh Nambung National Park, the Pinnacles had remained unknown to most Australians. These days the Pinnacles are one of Australia's tourist highlights and receives over 250,000 visitors every year.
The season to see the Pinnacles is during springs during the months of August and October. During this time the days are mild in weather and its also the period in which wildflowers start to bloom. In the mornings and late afternoon is generally the best time to visit the area as the play of light brings out the colours and dramatic shadows of the bizarre formations.

Just completed the 7-day Perth to Exmouth return trip with Doug as our guide - he deserves a raise. Knowledgeable, friendly and patient, he worked hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. It's a lot of driving and fairly rough camping-style accommodation with early starts, so it suits adventurous travellers rather than those wanting five-star comfort. We saw incredible beaches, national parks and wildlife including sharks, manta rays, turtles and dolphins - the snorkelling and sunsets were unbeatable.

Well worth the long drive - lots of interesting stops along the way. Guide Casper was knowledgeable and shared great info about the land. The Pinnacles Desert looked stunning in the evening light, and the stargazing afterwards was mesmerising, with Casper explaining the stars in detail. A humbling, unforgettable experience.
