How much does a tour in Australia cost?

A day trip is typically around $229, a three-day outback or island trip around $699, and a two-week east coast run around $3,100. The spread within each is wide because comfort varies more than the itinerary does — a swag and a boutique lodge both exist at every length.

Checked on 6 October 2026.

The useful number is not the cheapest or the dearest, it is the middle. Here is what we actually sell at each length, taken from every live trip on the site, so you can judge whether a quote you have seen elsewhere is fair.

Why the range is so wide

  • Where you sleep is most of it. The same three days at Uluru is $729 in a swag and $1,499 in a permanent tent with a bed. The itinerary barely changes.
  • Group size. A trip capped at 10 costs more per head than one capped at 24, and some people will pay for that.
  • How remote it is. The Kimberley runs look expensive until you notice every meal and every night is included because there is nowhere to buy anything.
  • Whether accommodation is in at all. A few of the short city-based trips start and finish in town each day, so the nights are yours — those look cheap and are not comparing like with like.

What is in the price

On a multi-day trip: transport, accommodation, most meals and usually the national park entry fees. You still pay for drinks, optional activities and meals in town — what is included goes through it properly.
