Really glad I did the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation tour from Cairns. A small group headed north for a Daintree River cruise where we saw five crocodiles, then a lovely lunch stop. The highlight was the rainforest walk with our knowledgeable guide Mark, followed by Cape Tribulation beach and unusual tropical-fruit ice cream flavours. Door-to-door pick-up and drop-off too — a great day.

A perfect day for our family of six (children aged 10-18) visiting from the USA. Our guide John made it memorable with plenty of teaching about the rainforest, its flora and fauna, and fun crocodile stories, while looking after everyone. The river cruise turned up around ten crocodiles with time for photos, the lunch spot and creek walk were beautiful, and the fresh-fruit ice creams were a lovely finish. A thoroughly enjoyable day — highly recommended.

James was a fabulous guide who has lived in the area for decades and clearly loves the Daintree, keeping us informed all day. Nice group size, plenty of bathroom stops and no strenuous walking. Note it runs closer to 11 hours than the listed 7. Highly recommend.

An amazing Daintree tour with Rowen, whose talks on history and ecology made the scenic drive even better. Everything ran smoothly and delivered on its promises — crocodiles on the Daintree River, wonderful rainforest walks (we were lucky to see cassowaries), a balanced lunch with a creek swim, beautiful lookouts, a Cape Tribulation walk and a great fruity ice cream to finish. “Spotted a cassowary”
A great day trip to the Daintree rainforest and Cape Tribulation. We spotted many crocodiles on the boat ride and were lucky to see a cassowary on the way back to the ferry. The only downside is that the very back seat of the bus is quite bumpy once you're in the forest.

A worthwhile way to walk into the oldest rainforest on Earth. I was impressed the staff could name almost all the crocodiles, and surprised to learn how low the baby crocodiles' survival rate is. Fellow travellers even filmed a rare cassowary up close. The gelato on the return trip was stunning, including a golden wattleseed flavour I tried for the first time. Bring an extra layer as the air-con can be cool. Thank you Daniel for the funny, well-pitched commentary.

We did the Daintree river, rainforest and Cape Tribulation tour with AJ, who was well informed and kept the interesting facts coming. We saw crocodiles on the river, walked the rainforest through a downpour, tried tasty local tropical-fruit ice cream and spotted a couple of cassowaries. Overall very good.

A most enjoyable day with Rowan, who was so knowledgeable about Australia's history, flora and fauna and made the day memorable with his lovely personality. The boat ride was a highlight (with a knowledgeable skipper and his dog Simba), and lunch was delicious. A must-do when visiting the Daintree.
Despite recent flooding we still enjoyed the trip, and Billy Tea Safaris were quick to adapt the programme with a new itinerary that didn't really affect the quality of the day. Our guide was friendly and took time to explain everything. We couldn't take the ferry or reach Cape Tribulation, but instead discovered the Wildlife Habitat, which was wonderful. The only slight disappointment was seeing very few crocodiles on the Daintree River cruise.

A great tour with our guide Kel, who was super knowledgeable and friendly. It covers a lot — with plenty of driving — but seeing the Daintree, Cape Tribulation and doing a crocodile cruise was well worth it. Kel really made the day.
We did the Cape Tribulation and Daintree tour with Rowan and it was fantastic. He was a fountain of information and kept the commentary going all day. The guided walks turned up stick insects, spiders and lizards, and there were gorgeous lookouts, delicious ice cream and a great lunch with a swim afterwards. The river cruise had crocodiles too — a brilliant, fun and educational day. Would definitely use them again.
A Daintree rainforest day tour with guide Andy. Everything ran to time, from pick-up to drop-off at the hotel door. Andy is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide who kept everything under control, with a good mix of free time, exploring and commentary. We saw baby crocodiles on the river cruise, enjoyed delicious fresh-fruit ice cream and even saw cassowaries that Andy spotted for us. Highly recommend if you want a well-planned, eventful day.

I did the Cape Tribulation Daintree Rainforest day tour and we were lucky to have Graeme as our guide. The day ran smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed the guided walks and river cruise, with lovely ice cream and a great lunch. As a long-time Cairns local I still learned more about the area, and as older travellers we found Graeme extremely helpful — the short walk at the Daintree Heritage Lodge was a highlight. A wonderful, well-run day; I'll definitely be recommending it.

A wonderful day trip from Cairns to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, taking in a river cruise, a swim and lunch, a long rainforest walk and the beaches at Cape Tribulation. We even saw a cassowary in the wild — a great day of Australian nature.
A relaxed, well-paced Daintree tour (booked via Viator, operated by Billy Tea Safaris) combining a river ferry and cruise — where we spotted a couple of crocodiles — scenic lookouts, an easy 1.2km rainforest botanical walk, beach time at Cape Tribulation and lunch with vegetarian options. Pick-up was around 7am and drop-off before 6pm. A comfortable mix of travel, light walking, scenery and food breaks, and a good, senior-friendly option if you have an extra day in Cairns.

An absolutely amazing tour with our friendly, funny and knowledgeable guide Daniel, who made us feel comfortable from the start. We began with tea and a stunning river cruise, then a refreshing creek swim and a delicious lunch (chosen on the drive up, with meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options). Daniel shared so much about the rainforest plants and animals on our walk, and made sure we had Cape Tribulation beach to ourselves. A brilliant day — booked for my family of six on the 1-day Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour, with hostel pick-up and evening drop-off. Despite the heaviest rain of the season in the morning, the weather came good and the itinerary was excellent. Our guide Daniel was lovely, friendly and fun, adapting the plan for the weather. Lunch had a good choice, including coeliac options for my sister, and the highlight was the river cruise where we saw two saltwater crocodiles, plus several wild cassowaries. We took the Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour from Port Douglas on our honeymoon in August 2025 and it was fantastic — extremely well-organised and informative, packing a lot into the day. A river cruise to see saltwater crocodiles, the most delicious tropical-fruit ice cream and sorbet at the Daintree Ice Cream Company, a wonderful Cape Tribulation view, and sightings of cassowaries, fruit bats, giant spiders and camouflaged katydids. A great way to see a lot of the area with a knowledgeable guide.

From Cairns we drove to a Daintree River crocodile cruise, then lunch and a swim in a croc-free creek, a rainforest boardwalk and the beach where rainforest meets the sea, with various lookouts along the way. This tour covered nearly everything in the Daintree, with our guide explaining the flora, fauna, geography and history. The hiking wasn't strenuous and the day was well broken up with rest on the bus and a surprisingly nice lunch in a tropical setting. The boat ride was fun even though we saw just one crocodile, and I liked the small group — no big crowd to get lost in. Recommend Billy Tea Safaris.

A wonderful day with James — we felt safe and well looked after. He gave us a grand tour of his backyard, including wild wallabies (we saw two boxing playfully), gracefully swimming crocodiles on the Daintree, a laced monitor lizard, a peppermint stick insect and lichen spiders hidden in bark. The ice creams and lunch were fabulous, and as someone dairy-intolerant and gluten-free I was well catered for. Chuffed.

Spectacular from start to finish. We had a great lunch and saw plenty of local wildlife, including flying foxes and crocodiles, and even swam in the rainforest — unforgettable. Our 'Kookaburra' bus was comfortable, and our friendly, knowledgeable guide shared useful tips for travelling around Australia and lots about the local wildlife and Cairns area. I'd do it again without hesitation — a perfect 10.
An amazing day on the Daintree with Rohan, who planned it so we did the ice cream and rainforest walk before the rain. His enthusiasm for a post-lunch swim in light rain was infectious — magical! It's a comfortable tour with rest time in the air-conditioned vehicle between activities, and Rohan's knowledge, care and friendly personality added so much. A fairly complete excursion with plenty of activities during the day, and the company was excellent — very attentive and friendly, with a good bus service. Personally I'd have liked a bit more time in the Daintree forest, though every operator does the same route; it still lets you see a bit of everything, including crocodiles.

An amazing tour of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation with our guide Rowan. My family visiting from the US loved learning about the area's Australian history, and Rowan's passion showed in his stories and fun facts. He timed our stops so we were never crowded at lookouts, and the barramundi lunch was fantastic. I'll definitely be recommending this.

The Daintree and Cape Tribulation safari packs a lot into one day. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide Mark; highlights included spotting a cassowary and a baby croc snoozing on a branch. A well-structured day trip to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, with a surprisingly good lunch and a lovely nearby swim spot (pack water shoes — lots of stones). We saw crocodiles of various ages and three cassowaries, and our guide explained a lot. The only downside: the commentary during the bus ride was hard to make out, so I'd recommend sitting in the first few rows.

I was hesitant to book based on mixed reviews, but this was an awesome experience I'd do again without hesitation. Daniel was a kind, patient guide, and with a 6-, 8- and 11-year-old we never felt rushed, unlike other tours. The meal at the heritage centre was one of the best of our vacation, and the unique ice cream flavours were like nothing we'd had. Loved the history at every stop — thank you Daniel. A recommendation for everyone.
A great day on the Daintree tour last week — the Port Douglas pick-up was on time despite the roadworks. Our guide/driver was a font of knowledge about the area, making the trip really interesting, and morning tea, lunch and the ice cream finish were all lovely. My only small disappointment was that the Bloomfield Track shown in the itinerary I booked wasn't included, so it might be worth updating that. All in all a great day, thank you.

A very well-organised tour with our fabulous guide Andrew. Our two teenagers loved it. Highlights were spotting a croc on our walk (which we'd never have seen without Andrew), the Daintree river cruise and the delicious ice cream. Andrew shared interesting facts and kept us on time despite roadworks. Cape Tribulation was stunning in great weather. We'd definitely do another Billy Tea tour — recommend for all ages.
On-time apartment pick-up and a wonderful day. Our guide Graham explained lots on the way to the Daintree, and the river cruise was great (we saw a croc and hatchlings). Lunch was very good. One area for improvement: the Heritage Lodge lunch spot has only two toilets, which women also change in for swimming, so waits were long. The local-fruit ice cream stop was a treat, and we even saw a cassowary on the way back — the highlight. A great tour with a great guide; one suggestion is a step for the high vehicle, as one guest couldn't manage the lookouts.
My wife and I took the full-day Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour. As with many Australian tours, be ready for time spent riding, but the small group and vehicle made it feel quaint (it wasn't full in June). Several stops at lookouts, the beach and a rainforest walk, plus a good lunch at the Heritage (we had steak and fish). Our guide Gavin was knowledgeable and interesting, and the river cruise was fantastic with several crocs and a very funny captain.

I'm so glad we booked. Our guide Daniel was very knowledgeable, explaining the area and its history as we drove between sites, and took us to places we'd never have found ourselves. My favourite part was the freshwater swim at lunch — though the ice cream was delicious, and croc spotting on the river and the forest walk were great too. Honestly, it was all good, and the price was fair. I'd definitely recommend this tour and operator.

My wife and I did the all-day Daintree tour from Cairns and had a great time, thanks to our awesome guide Andy, who kept us comfortable on the drives and shared lots of fun facts. We saw a cassowary up close, five crocs and plenty of other plants and animals, and the drive up and back is beautiful with good views from any seat.
Andy was great, answering all our many questions during the Daintree excursion. We saw cool wildlife on the rainforest walk and a few crocodiles on the Daintree River cruise. Highly recommend — a full day with seamless hotel pick-up and drop-off.

A fantastic Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour — a great glimpse of the region, perfect for sampling a lot in one day. Our guide Gavin offered plenty of insight into how Aboriginal people view the land, their stories, and the local flora and fauna. The riverboat and ice cream were great, but swimming in the crystal-clear rainforest river was the highlight for me.

An interesting day with our driver/guide Daniel visiting an ancient part of Australia. We saw crocodiles, a kingfisher and fish on the Daintree River boat trip with our informative skipper Scott, plus a superb lunch, a boardwalk forest walk and the spot where forest meets ocean, finishing with an ice cream. The journey back felt a bit bumpy, and I'd have liked a little more time to take in the scenery along the Captain Cook Highway.

Our driver Dave was fantastic — one person with so much knowledge really made the trip, with great stories about the locals and the history of the land. The Mossman Gorge hike was great; Cape Tribulation was nice but, for us, not worth the extra time for a short beach walk. Dave showed us remote spots we didn't expect, including a rainforest area with amazing fan trees. Definitely recommend.

An interesting Cairns-to-Daintree trip with lots of attractions and rest stops to break up the long day, much of it in the nice air-conditioned bus between destinations. It was great to see multiple crocodiles and lots of rainforest insects, though the cassowary stayed elusive.

“Lots of sitting, informative tour”
A good experience overall — I learned some new facts about the Daintree, and the guides helped spot fruit bats, baby crocodiles, fish and spiders. Personally I found it too sedentary, with most time spent in the vehicle (worsened by roadworks from earlier mudslides). If you like paved walkways, a leisurely pace and sitting on a bus, this is for you, and it's very family-friendly. The coffee, lunch, ice cream and short beach stops were all fine. It ran 7am to 5:30pm.
If you're visiting Cairns, I highly recommend Billy Tea Safaris. We did the three-day Daintree Rainforest, Reef and Skyrail package and it was incredible — seamlessly organised with clear communication and detailed itineraries in advance. A special shout-out to Graeme, our Daintree guide, whose deep knowledge and dry humour made the tour even better. Tips: bring bug spray for the rainforest, take motion-sickness meds before the reef cruise, and allow time for Kuranda. An unforgettable adventure — I'd book again in a heartbeat.
Our trip into the Daintree Rainforest and river cruise was amazing. A fantastic time on the Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour. Our guide Steve was incredibly knowledgeable, mixing history, ecology and local stories, and the walks were short and manageable given the heat. The crocodile boat tour was like a real-life jungle cruise, with an entertaining pilot. Lunch was delicious and the staff accommodating, and it was fascinating to see both sides of the Daintree with the old ferry crossing. Mossman Gorge has improved a lot, and the day was well paced with plenty of bathroom breaks and provided golf umbrellas. Highly recommend.

A really amazing 1-day Daintree trip with Ro from Billy Tea Safaris. He was an exceptional host who took great care of everyone, super patient and knowledgeable about the culture, importance, flora and fauna of the land. The bus comfortably seats around 20, and the food had great options including for vegetarians. Definitely recommend — and book well ahead, as these tours sell out.

Nothing felt like a tourist trap — no upsells at all. I'd recommend Billy Tea to anyone wanting to see beyond the Reef in this region.

We took the Daintree 4WD tour with Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation. Our guide Gavin was very knowledgeable and created a magical atmosphere over the 10-hour day, answering every question about plants, animals and Aboriginal culture with passion — he even surprised us playing the didgeridoo. From crocodiles on the river and cassowaries on the road to a walk and swim in the magical rainforest and an original ice cream to finish, everything was perfect — including a generous lunch.

A nice tour of the Daintree River (by boat) and rainforest national park. We saw a couple of crocodiles, visited Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation beaches and the Alexandra lookout, had lunch at a lodge in the rainforest and a swim in the river. Our guide/driver knew a lot about the area's history and nature, and the ice cream was delicious — I just missed seeing cassowaries.
The Billy Tea tour into the Daintree was an absolute highlight! We had a relaxed boat cruise and saw crocodiles in the wild — really impressive. We booked a 2-day tour — the Daintree on day one and the reef snorkel on day two — and it was 10/10. They were helpful and professional when booking and accommodating when we needed to adjust. The Daintree tour was fantastic and highly recommended for nature lovers, with a very knowledgeable guide and multiple stops (a crocodile cruise, Cape Tribulation and lookouts) breaking up the drive, plus a provided lunch and homemade local ice cream to finish.

We signed up on our hotel's advice and are very glad we did — Billy Tea's reputation is well deserved. We had clear advice on what to expect and bring, and no issues at all on a hugely impressive day. There's a fair bit of driving, but the comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and the guide's interesting commentary meant it never felt long — we enjoyed the travel as part of the day. The rainforest walk was my highlight, just ahead of a lovely lunch and a swim in a crystal-clear creek, with Cape Tribulation and the crocodile boat tour close behind. Our guide Rowan and trainee Carl were welcoming, chatty and always ready with an insightful answer — and when a road accident delayed us, they seamlessly sorted an alternative plan and went home late so we didn't miss anything. I'd recommend this to anyone and will definitely book with Billy Tea again.

We did the Daintree and Cape Tribulation trip and overall it was good. It's a long day with a lot of bus time (inevitable given the distances), and the bus isn't the most comfortable. Cape Tribulation is great and the river cruise was very good (we saw a crocodile), though the forest walk was underwhelming.

Simply wow. Rowan, our guide/driver, was amazing. It's a long drive from Cairns, but the truck is comfortable and Ro made it seem short, sharing tons of info about the rainforest, its creatures and the weather (Cyclone Jasper, 6 metres of rain a year). The Daintree didn't disappoint, Cape Tribulation was really cool, and on the river cruise we saw Scarface, the dominant male saltwater croc. Lunch was fantastic barramundi. We'll be talking about this trip for a long time, and Billy Tea is a big reason why.

A great but long trip — 7am pick-up and nearly 7pm drop-off. There was a bit of adventure when the river cruise boat struck a submerged log, handled very professionally. Lunch was ok (we skipped the swim as it was cold and rainy), and it rained during our rainforest and beach walks, though the rainforest info was interesting. The ice cream stop was awesome — a long day of travelling.

We were collected by our guide Brett — on time, professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. The Daintree rainforest and river tours, lunch at Heritage Lodge, Cape Tribulation and the ice cream were all wonderful. It was a long day (350km) and felt a little rushed at some stops; a longer swim at the Heritage Lodge waterhole would have been welcome. Lunch was simple food done well (the steak was cooked well), and the safari bus was comfortably cool, though it could use better suspension on the bumpy, roadwork-affected roads. Thank you Brett for an awesome day in the world's oldest rainforest.
“Great tour”
Our guide Brett took us to many places in a day. Pros: I saw rainforest crabs, interesting trees, mudskippers and large crocodiles, plus a short stop at a beautiful beach, and enjoyed learning about the wildlife. Cons: lots of construction on the way due to natural disasters. If you want longer at any one place, consider hiring a car instead. Tip: the bus (and shops in Cairns) were freezing to me in short sleeves, so bring a light jacket if you travel in August.

It was the perfect combination — big crocs, a Daintree walk and Cape Tribulation — and my highlight was the refreshing freshwater creek swim. Well paced and suitable for anyone with reasonable mobility, though the truck steps are big and some activities need careful footing.

This trip was more than we expected — well organised, with great commentary, lovely food and a very comfortable bus. We experienced the beautiful Daintree rainforest, learned about the area's seasons and infrastructure on the boat ride, and saw live crocodiles in their natural habitat and the importance of the mangroves. Our guide was funny and friendly, giving commentary about the rainforest and Cairns that helped us understand the area's history between truck rides. The small-group format built camaraderie and felt more personal than a big tour. Lunch offered steak, fish or vegetarian, and the tea-time ice cream was locally grown. A nice experience — though the mosquito bites lingered a while.

Our guide Andrew prepared an amazing tour and showed us the beauty of the Daintree. We took a river cruise and saw crocodiles sunbathing, enjoyed a peaceful lunch and a refreshing swim in Emmagen Creek, and saw so much pure nature that left us in awe. The tropical-fruit ice cream at the end was delicious, and the wide Cape Tribulation beach was worth seeing. Love from Slovenia.
“August 2024 Daintree tour”
Graeme did a great job taking us to all the advertised places. We saw three crocs on the Daintree River, and the boat guide pointed out plants and explained the river system. Lunch was yummy, and the tea, biscuits and ice cream were nice extras. We even saw spectacled fruit bats and a cassowary on the Cape Tribulation boardwalk. Thoroughly enjoyed it all!

A fabulous trip. The river cruise was lovely, and our cruise guide Craig was very informative, spotting several crocodiles and snakes and making sure everyone got a look. Our guide for the day, Gav, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing lots of facts about the rainforest. Cape Tribulation beach was beautiful, and to top it off, Molly the cassowary strolled through the rainforest with us!
“Amazing Day in the Daintree!”
A fantastic day trip. Our ride was clean and comfortable and the whole day well organised and timed. We loved our guide Daniel — a quiet sense of humour and a wealth of local knowledge — who offered to take our photos and gave us a bonus stop on the way back. We saw crocodiles, tree snakes, birds, lizards, orb spiders, fruit bats, mud crabs and, best of all, a cassowary, with plenty of time for a nice rainforest lunch. Gav picked us up promptly, looked after us well and kept us entertained and organised all day. We enjoyed his interesting, knowledgeable commentary, especially on the tremendous Daintree rainforest walk, and a tasty lunch in an exquisite setting at Heritage Lodge. Cape Tribulation is a beautiful beach and the mangroves fascinating, and finishing with a generous selection of Daintree ice cream made from local fruits was the perfect end. Definitely recommend for anyone in the Port Douglas/Cairns area.

A full day starting at 7am with driver Daniel collecting us from our accommodation. Due to recent cyclone damage the itinerary had changed, so we began with coffee/tea and biscuits before the river cruise (spotting crocodiles and other wildlife), then time at lovely Thornton Beach and Mossman Gorge. Lunch was yummy barramundi and salad at On The Turps, and we finished with tropical-fruit ice cream at the Daintree Ice Cream Company. A long but very enjoyable day.
Absolutely loved our day out in the Daintree with Billy Tea Safaris. Our driver Rowan told us all about the area, forest, ecosystems, Mossman and history. I'd recommend this tour to anyone interested in crocodiles, forest and ice cream. We stopped at a beautiful resort for lunch in the middle of the forest and had the best natural ice cream, all on a lovely tour bus.
A bloody awesome tour with so many great experiences from 7am to 6pm — Daintree, Cape Trib and Mossman Gorge in a day from Cairns. Tony was the best, with fantastic commentary, crafting a great experience despite itinerary changes from cyclone-repair closures. Highly recommend the Daintree day trip from Cairns. Our guide Andrew was amazing, telling great stories all day — passionate, enthusiastic and infectiously good-humoured. Yes, you spend a lot of time in the van, but it was comfortable with beautiful views. Cape Tribulation wasn't included due to the cyclone, but lunch and ice cream were plentiful and delicious. A wonderful day learning about and enjoying the Daintree rainforest with the irrepressible 'Gav' as host and driver. As well as being thoroughly entertaining, he showed great knowledge of the national park's history, fauna and flora — a great day.

We've done many expedition tours and accept that nature isn't scripted, so the guide can make or break the day — and ours, Gavin, was the epitome of a great one. He arrived on time, seated people in the 4WD according to their abilities, continually checked on everyone's needs and offered plenty of stops. As a horticulturist, Gav was a wealth of rainforest information and did his best to reveal camouflaged wildlife. We never felt rushed, and he adapted the itinerary as things changed. His enthusiasm was infectious.

Gorgeous. Our guide Daniel was lovely and knowledgeable about the plants, and kept to the timing despite the roadworks. We couldn't reach Cape Tribulation but visited another beach (rainy weather). Thank you so much.

A lot of fun. Our guide Gavin was very funny and explained a lot, and we even saw a crocodile on the river trip. We had lunch in the middle of the rainforest, then unusual ice cream flavours, a short walk in the Daintree (Mossman Gorge) with a great view, and a final croc-spotting stop where we saw one on the riverbank. I recommend it to anyone in or near Cairns — plus you get hotel pick-up and drop-off (we were in Palm Cove).

We were unlucky that a spot wasn't available due to landslides, but they arranged to show us something else. The boat ride and the walks in the forest and on the beach were beautiful — and all done safely.

We did the bus tour to the Daintree and really enjoyed it. Our guide Tony was welcoming and gave an interesting commentary as we drove. It's a busy tour, so you don't stay long anywhere, but you cover a lot of ground and see so much. Lunch was good, the afternoon ice cream stop exceptional, and the admin was spot on.
A 10/10 day out on Billy Tea Safaris' Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest tour. Rowan (Ro) was fun, knowledgeable and the perfect guide, with fascinating insights into the region's ecology, history and Indigenous culture that brought a whole new appreciation for this beautiful forest. Everything exceeded our expectations, and doing the tour worked out better value than self-driving, with the ferry, cruise and all meals (plus awesome Daintree ice cream) included. A sensational trip with Billy Tea. Our guide Daniel was knowledgeable and friendly, and we saw so many amazing things on the Daintree tour, including crocs in the river. Even with some things closed after a recent cyclone, the company made sure the day was still full of fun and exploring. You really get your money's worth.
Staying in Cairns, we booked Billy Tea's Daintree tour after an earlier attempt was cancelled by Cyclone Jasper. Picked up at 7:30 and driven north, we started with a rainforest walk and a swim in the Daintree River, then a boat tour with our guide pointing out crocodiles and other river wildlife. In all, about 10 hours taking in over half a dozen Daintree sights with photo ops. The guide was knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble — we thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Amended Daintree etc trip”
Emma, our guide, was very knowledgeable and shared lots about the rainforest. Sadly cyclone damage meant we couldn't visit Cape Tribulation and the itinerary had to be rejigged, which was disappointing but out of Emma's or the company's control. The Daintree river trip was pleasant (the crocs were hiding), Mossman Gorge was nice with a welcome dip, and lunch included a very good barramundi.

A fantastic Daintree rainforest day tour with my family. The river tour was excellent, with our knowledgeable guide Craig terrific at spotting wildlife, and the 4×4 part was the greatest tour I've ever been on, with our guide Rohan's extensive knowledge of the ecosystems, wildlife and history. Our driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and considerate to a couple of octogenarians. We saw a crocodile on her nest, the swimming hole was crystal clear and the food excellent. A very enjoyable day out.

We did the one-day Daintree tour and it was fantastic. Our guide Daniel was informative, knew his stuff and was quite entertaining. We got to see a crocodile on the river cruise, walked through the forest learning about the issues affecting the Daintree, stopped at a swim hole, had a nice lunch at a hidden hotel and ate yummy ice cream. Would highly recommend if you're going to Cairns!

An amazing 2-day Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef tour. Our rainforest guide Andy was awesome — clearly passionate about the region's history and how fragile the ecosystem is — and we enjoyed learning how unique this area is. We saw four cassowaries in the wild and one crocodile, and loved the small group size.
We did the Daintree day trip with Rohan and couldn't recommend this company enough. Rohan was the perfect guide — informative, engaging and a really lovely guy, passionate about his job and educating others. The day was set out excellently, with plenty of time at each stop, interesting commentary between them, and plenty of bathroom and tea stops. The Billy Tea Daintree day trip far exceeded our expectations, with convenient hotel pick-up and drop-off. The vehicle had plenty of windows for photos on the scenic drives, and our guide Graeme was quick to point out interesting plants and animals, enriching the day with fun facts, songs and a 10/10 dive into Emmagen Creek. We got the most beautiful nature photos and a greater appreciation of this diverse biome. Definitely recommend.
“Fun day out”
A very enjoyable day, from a 7:15am resort pick-up to a 5pm drop-off. Our knowledgeable, friendly guide kept us up to date with what to expect at every stop. Morning tea, lunch and the ice cream stop were all great, and the boardwalk forest walk was amazing with lots of photo opportunities. We loved the quiet, peaceful crocodile-spotting river cruise. My only complaint was a very rough ride at the very back of the bus — otherwise everything was great. Highly recommended.

Our guide Rohan was amazing, giving comprehensive commentary on the rainforest and historical tidbits. It's a whole-day tour, so plan accordingly; the drive has lovely ocean views for part of the way. The rainforest walk was nice, with Ro an expert on the insects, plants and wildlife, and the river cruise turned up two crocodiles. Overall a good tour of the world's oldest rainforest — a must-see UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our guide Rohan was amazing, striking a good balance between science and history (both European and Indigenous) and emphasising what makes the area unique. We came from the US for our honeymoon and booked the Daintree Cape Tribulation tour — so much fun. We went down the river (the way into the Daintree area) and saw a crocodile swimming, and enjoyed getting to know our guide and the group. Our guide was so informative and fun, and swimming in the water hole at the end was a plus. A beautiful place.
“Well worth the price”
This tour was so memorable for its beautiful scenery. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the rainforest and its plants and animals, and very friendly — clearly cut out for the job. We loved the rainforest walk, a natural pool, scenic lookouts, tropical-flavoured ice cream and a relaxing river cruise where we saw the eyes and nose of a croc. The only downside was the bumpy, jarring 4WD ride at times.

The trip to Cape Tribulation was very well organised. Our tour leader Graeme (with an E, not an H) has been doing it for 22 years and it shows — still enthusiastic about the area he clearly loves, informative and funny. We saw a large croc on the boat cruise, the rainforest was terrific and the provided lunch very good. All in all a great day out.

We saw several crocodiles on the river cruise, enjoyed the rainforest walk and tasted yummy ice cream, and lunch was pleasant. My only suggestion would be to consider swapping the river swim for Mossman Gorge if time permits.

What a great day exploring the Daintree Rainforest and surrounds. Pick up was on time from my accommodation, the small group made it feel more personalised and our driver/tour guide Matthew was a wealth of information. He knew so much about the fauna and flora of the area and was more than willing to pass on his knowledge, with a tad of dry humour which was most entertaining! The Daintree river cruise was also just as informative about the river and the crocodiles who live there. Rainforest walk was excellent. Lunch was OK, the quick ice cream stop was good on the way back to Cairns. Was a big day but well worth it!
“GREAT FUN, WELL GUIDED AND GREAT MEMORIES”
Picked us up on time in the 4x4. It was a small group of 12, and had air con (phew) after the pick-ups he spoke via his microphone and explained the itinerary and pre-order food, so sent around the menu on a clipboard to choose from.
The trip was excellent, very well guided, organized, safe and fun. The boat section was great and fun and the guide was tentative and stopped at animals along the while like crocodiles and snakes etc. The tour through the rainforest was great, so peaceful. Do where good shoes as a lot of walking and slippy sections. We even had a stop to swim in a stream in the jungle, that was fun.
the drive to the swim stop was off-road so don't sit over the wheels as we did, new back was needed, haha.

Matthew was a great tour leader and everything ran to clockwork with great stories. Small group tour and even though our original day was cancelled the company made it very easy to change to another day. Lunch was ok but the ice creams were yummy.
