A fantastic time on the two-day Best of Both Worlds tour. Our guide Paul was excellent — fun, keen to bring the group together so we all felt like a little family, full of interesting information and very good with food allergies (the food was excellent). The stops and activities were all enjoyable and well thought out, even with slightly miserable weather. I'd definitely recommend Uncle Brian's for a Daintree trip. Thank you, Paul!
We were absolutely delighted with the whole Best of Both Worlds experience. The two days were full of activities — swimming in various beautiful spots, a night canoe on a lake, feeding rock wallabies and a crocodile cruise among others — and our guide Frankie was friendly and knowledgeable, giving us the history of every place we passed. We couldn't have asked for a better end to our east coast trip.

The overnight tour was amazing — we saw so many places and did so many fun activities. Everyone was great, especially Cousin Paul, who made everything more enjoyable, engaging and interesting. He cares about everyone and puts in so much effort; it wouldn't have been the same without him.
I did the two-day Best of Both Worlds tour, and our guide Oscar was fantastic — so many amazing facts and stories about the places we visited, super friendly, and the group vibe was always high. My favourite part was Cassowary Falls. Couldn't recommend it enough, and if you get Oscar as your guide, you're in for a treat.

My friend and I booked the two-day Best of Both Worlds with Spencer, and the good vibes were immediate. It was the perfect mix of adventure and thrills while still being relaxed and well looked after — guitar jams, the best meals, group singalongs on a shared Spotify, and the eco-lodge had the comfiest beds in Australia. We rode buggies, fed wallabies, saw crocodiles, jumped into waterfalls and kayaked in the pitch dark, all with Spencer bringing the atmosphere and taking the time to get to know each of our small group of nine. Couldn't have asked for a better couple of days — if you're thinking of booking, just do it!
The most amazing trip — great people, great food, and the very best guide. The most amazing experience! We went on the Best of Both Worlds tour with Cousin Paul, who made the trip so special. Every swimming stop was gorgeous and refreshing, and the overnight part took it to the next level, with the night canoeing and the hostel among my favourite things. The food was delicious and plentiful. Can't recommend it enough — and a shout-out to Paul again for being a fantastic guide: funny, kind and full of expertise.
A brilliant overnight tour — huge thanks to Oscar, whose great knowledge of the area made him an all-round legend. This was my third time visiting the Tablelands and the Daintree, and by far the best experience I've had was on the Best of Both Worlds overnight tour. Highly recommend!

Unexpectedly perfect, thanks largely to Paul, whose warm, fun personality brought our little group even closer together. The mix of waterfalls and diverse wildlife was spectacular, and the two days were packed with wonderful moments — even the bus rides were a blast, with games and karaoke, and there was always good food and snacks. The accommodation (On the Wallaby Ecolodge) and the food were fantastic too. An amazing trip I'd recommend to anyone.

An amazing way to see the rainforest. Our guide Cousin Frankie was fantastic — really informative and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the land. The days are jam-packed but with great food throughout and a mix of water activities and wildlife, and the On the Wallaby hostel was lovely (I upgraded to a lodge, which was totally worth it). Would absolutely recommend.

The Best of Both Worlds tour with Cousin Paul was amazing! The two days were packed with activities, and Paul was a brilliant guide, keeping us energised and entertained with his dad jokes and knowledge of the areas. The waterfalls were stunning with lots of fresh swimming, and the nature cruise, spotting crocodiles and snakes, was so cool. Would 100% recommend.

This rainforest tour with Uncle Brian's was simply incredible—without exaggeration, the best tour I've ever been on. Troy is the best guide you could wish for. He knows the rainforest inside out and brings you closer to nature in an incredibly accessible and authentic way. Two days of pure adventure: impressive landscapes, exciting stops, really good food, and so many special moments. You're constantly outside, in the middle of the rainforest, experiencing everything up close – exactly as you would hope. It was incredibly fun, and I would do the tour again in a heartbeat. And all this with the best group ever – thank you for this unforgettable experience! Highly recommended!

I recently joined the waterfall tour with Uncle Brian’s, and overall, it was a day to remember. If you are looking for a high-energy, fun-filled trip into the rainforest, this is definitely a solid choice. The Vibe: Our tour guide was legendary! The energy was high from start to finish, and the bus playlist was absolutely spot on—it really kept the mood going between stops. The Spots: Millaa Millaa Falls was stunning, and the natural rock slide was a massive highlight. Pure fun! We were lucky enough to spot a Platypus, which was a huge bonus and definitely a "bucket list" moment for me. The Group: The people on the tour were super relaxed and friendly; the whole atmosphere felt like a big road trip with friends. A Few Downsides: Food & Drinks: To be honest, the lunch (chicken wings) wasn't really my thing. Also, I was quite surprised that water wasn't provided during the tour. In the tropical heat, you’d expect at least some water refills to be included. The Price: At $159, the tour is definitely on the pricier side for a day trip. Is it a bit expensive? Yes. But hey, you only live once, right?! If you want a "fun trip" with cool people and great music, I can definitely recommend it. It’s more about the experience and the "vibe" than just the sights themselves.

The tour was efficiently and thoughtfully planned. Each day was the perfect amount of activity. Favorite parts were swimming in the jaw-dropping waterfalls. Shout out to my tour guide Oscar, who was by far the most knowledgeable guide I've had on any tour. I have celiacs and he did a good job making sure I was accommodated as well. Small things like that go a long way for folks with dietary restrictions.

It was such a great tour! But what made it was the energy of our guide Raychel. She was awesome. She took us to the best spots, swam with us, had lunch with us, told us all sorts of stories and fun facts about what we were seeing, he DJ skills were awesome too. When she picked us up she had the biggest smile on her face so that already set the precedent for the day (good vibes only!). When we got the boat for the croc tour the guy clearly knew his stuff, knew all the crocs off by heart and where they’d be so we saw loads! It was a really awesome day and definitely recommend it!!

We toured with an excellent guide named Cousin Sam. He had a brilliant sense of humour, made sure the trip was fun as well as ensuring the safety of everyone throughout the day, was very considerate with peoples food allergies. He also gave a very in depth tutorial on how to do the perfect hair flick like the girl in the mysterious girl music video. Provided lots of entertainment and had a cracking taste in music. Would love to do another tour with him again!!

The Cape Tribulation tour was a fantastic experience. The tour includes several activities such as a boat trip where you can observe crocodiles, swimming in a private lake, lunch, a short hike through a rainforest, and several viewpoints. While the drive is quite long (over four hours in total), it's definitely worth it, as you drive primarily along the coast and through rainforests. Our tour guide, Sam, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very funny and kept the drive interesting with lots of fun games. The number of crocodiles you see varies greatly, as you're entering their natural habitat and can't control their behavior. Ultimately, we had a wonderful and informative day and saw crocodiles in the wild for the first time

I went on a tour to the Daintree with Sam. It was absolutely beautiful. The tour itself was laid out well: lunch was super delicious, the swimming spot superbe, the croc tour a real treat. But most of all, I cannot rave enough about how special Sam made this day for the entire group! He turned a good tour into an outstanding experience that I will keep in my heart. His knowledge is exceptional and he is wise, kind and super funny. Highly recommended!

I did the Best of Both Worlds Tour with Uncle Brian’s and if I could give more than 5 stars I would ! Our tour guide Brian (Britzy) was amazing and made this trip one to remember .. usually tours can be a bit too tourish but this was like visiting all the amazing spots with someone you’ve known for years ! We saw some amazing waterfalls, swam in amazing water, canoed in the dark, saw incredible scenes and saw lots of Austrailia native animals ! We ate some great food too and had some smoko’s (morning tea breaks ! We opted for an upgrade in the overnight lodge (we were a couple (30)) which was really nice so I would recommend. Unless you are travelling by yourself or a bit younger than us, the dorms looked great as well! Worth every penny, camera roll full of timeless photos and memories forever ! Thanks Britzy

Amazing Our driver was Courtney who was amazing and super knowledgeable! I was a little worried as I took my parents 70+71 on the trip but Courtney looked after them and didn't rush them along! Sadly we didn't get to see any crocodiles but that didn't matter! I do recommend shoes for the swim as it was painful on the feet navigating the rocks. Food! The burger lunch was amazing! Highly recommend the jackfruit burger Another highlight was the games on the drive back! Tip. Take a refillable insulated water bottle as it geta very hot in Cape Trib! And watch out for spiders on the walks

Had the absolute best time of my life on this trip ! Out of my 3 months travelling this was the best group and guide I've had, so much fun and loads to do and our tour guide Brian (yes he's actually called Brian) was just great, he was so kind and fun, really got us all involved in the fun, and truly made it an unforgettable experience. I hope he's still there next time I come to Australia and do the best of both worlds again. If you want to see some animals, listen to some great tunes and see some amazing waterfalls and creeks then book it

Our guide Tom was amazing and our overnight accommodation was very comfortable. I would highly recommend doing either the 2 day tour or both single day tours. Not one to miss on your trip to Cairns!

For the 2-day don’t need to bring too much, just maybe one good pair of shoes, sliders/thongs, swimwear, towel, one dry change of clothes, a warm (!) jumper and rain mac.

It was an amazing experience, we got to see a variety of the wonderful nature of the area and the trip had a relaxed and nice atmosphere. Coco played excellent music and organized fun games along the way, which created a great group spirit. There were hikers from all over the world and we, who are in our sixties, were welcomed in nicely. We also got our own room for the night for a small additional fee. The highlight was when a cassowary popped up at the crater lake stage. A very rare occurrence, only 2000 live in the wild. Strong recommendation for everyone, regardless of age.

It was a really great tour. We saw different facets of the rainforest, with different bathing possibilities, including a rock slide and a waterfall. There was food - small breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
There was also a top music selection on the bus with a great mood to join in.

Did the over night tour a few days ago and have been recommending it to everyone since! First day spent the day visiting swim spots which was nice break from the heat. Second day was more chilled but still full of facts from our great tour guide Tom! The overnight hostel was super cute and was definitely better than what I was imagining. If I had to have one moan (and it’s super small) the manager at the hostel wasn’t the most friendly/welcoming person in the world. After having such a fun upbeat day with everyone it just felt more noticeable. But I got over the cold welcome when my head hit the super comfy bed and pillow! Thanks again for a great tour!!

Uncle Brians Tours were amazing. 9th Oct. Our local tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and made the trip a great time. There was lots to see and do for the day, from the lookouts to the river cruise, seeing 3 crocs. Lunch was great! Good sized burgers and chips. The water hole was beautiful clear water and nice to cool down on a warm day. The rainforest tour was also a highlight. Having a guide made the whole experience so much better as he pointed out many different key species and things within. Fun and games on the way home finished it off for a great day out. It is a full day getting back at 6:30-7pm

Tour guide Brian was one of the highlights of our entire Australia journey! Truly an Aussie legend giving incredible energy and knowledge out for both days of our trip where we were able to see so many incredible watering holes, views and creatures. Had the absolute best time of my life on this trip ! “Must-do for anyone visiting Cairns!”
Just had the most amazing 2 days! I am solo travelling and from the moment I stepped on the bus I felt like I could make great memories, and that’s exactly what happened. The tour visits some incredible, must-see destinations, such as the croc-infested river and gorgeous river pools (where there are no crocs, but a very fun natural slip-n-slide and jump rock!). I also loved seeing the fantastic work the joey sanctuary does - I love that Uncle Brian’s supports non-profits like this that make such a positive impact on wildlife. You will get to see loads during the two days - much more than I’d ever have seen if I had tried to explore the rainforest on my own. Our amazing guide Raychel set up fun games to play on the bus, and also was very friendly and knowledgeable - she absolutely elevated the experience in my opinion! The food was really nice and they catered well to those with dietary requirements. I would 10000% recommend doing this tour to anyone who is visiting Cairns and likes nature, or is remotely curious about nature, or just wants 2 days of fun!!

I did the 2-day best of both tour with the wonderful Rachel and it was incredible. Such a great way to see this part of Queensland. Especially loved the nighttime canoe, the visit to the animal rescue The Agile Project, and of course the amazing nature (waterfalls & rainforest & so many animals!). The night at the On the Wallaby Lodge was also excellent. We are vegan and the food for us was great, especially the dinner at the lodge. Only things to note is there were children on my tour which I didn’t expect, would be better imo if it was capped 18+. And secondly, maybe you could get dark chocolate without milk in so non-dairy people can join in too on the treats? But no complaints, would definitely recommend this tour! I actually did the 1-day waterfalls tour back in 2017 and the fact I’ve come back to Uncle Brian’s again says it all, and I would do it again. Thank you
“Great day outside of Cairns”
We had a great time going between the various waterfalls and pools with the “fresh” water swimming. The natural waterslide was a highlight as well as the informative discussions with our tour guide. He went out of the way to make sure that we really learned about the area and saw some special things. We actually saw Plato’s, tree kangaroo and spectacled flying foxes as well as a 500 year old tree. All in all it was a day well spent

I booked the 2 days tour a few weeks ago to end my queensland trip and I had SUCH A GOOD TIME! Our guide was Tom, and let me tell you we had a BLAST with him. Really amazing day, saw so many waterfulls and great view points. Also Mobley soy honey chicken for lunch with vegetarian and vegan options and chocolate cake and custard for dessert. There was also tea and coffees in the morning with a variety of cakes/pastries and at our last point that we stopped at we had muffins and hot chocolate. Only thing unenjoyable about the trip was having to keep sitting on the bus in wet swim suits.

We did the "The Best of Both Worlds" two day tour, that basically combines the waterfalls and Daintree/Cape Tribulation. Full packed days of hopping around swimming in waterfalls, discovering cool animals and plants, always in our swimsuits just splashing about. Even the time on the bus was fun, a perfect mix of resting and fun activities. Slept on the cutest little lodge, super clean and cozy. The night canoeing was one of the best experiences of my whole trip.
Food is super yummy and home made, finally felt like eating at home.
Our guide - Ky - was amaaaazing, she's so effortlessly cool, made the trip so fun and genuinely like hanging out with friends while discovering all the cool stuff.

If you’re visiting Cairns on your East Coast trip Uncle Brian’s tours are an absolute must! We did the waterfall and rainforest tours which were incredible. My favourite had to be the waterfall circuit, you get to see absolutely stunning views and loads of animals on both! We were lucky enough to have the lovely Coco take us out on both of our tours. He made the days 10/10 and was such a brilliant guide, you can tell he knows his stuff and is passionate about the area.

Highly recommend uncle Brian’s tours. My partner and I did the falls, forest and fun tour and it definitely lived up to its name. The tour started off being picked up by a comfortable seated bus with great music playing and the air conditioner to keep us all cool. Our tour guide Conrad was so fun and friendly with keeping us all engaged with fun facts and games to play. Morning tea was provided which was a great bonus. Unfortunately, my partner had a bit of a minor injury and needed to seek medical assistance. Uncle Brian’s tours took us to the hospital quickly and promptly loading everyone back in the bus. I was the most impressed with uncle Brian’s tours when the manager of the company Max called us to ensure we were okay and organised Frankie, another member of uncle Brian’s staff, to come pick us up from Babinda hospital on his day off. Max was in constant communication with us ensuring we were getting updates on where Frankie was and how long until he got to us. Max called us up later in the afternoon and was so kind to rebook us in for a complimentary tour on another day as we unfortunately missed out on half of the tour. We are very grateful for the customer service we experienced from Max, the kindest of Frankie picking us up and having to travel a while to come and get us on his day off, and the fantastic tour guide Conrad. I cannot recommend uncle Brian’s tour enough for how wonderful of an experience we had even when missing out on half the day.

We did the 2 day ‘Best of both worlds’ tour and it was brilliant! Great food for all meals, beautiful scenery, and a lovely eco-lodge hostel for the night. Our guide Coco was great, super friendly and funny, and also very informative about the area and all the nature we were seeing! Either of these day trips would be great on their own, but doing them together was even better! We swam in loads of beautiful waterfalls and creeks, fed wallabies, did a night canoe under the stars, and saw crocodiles on a river cruise!

I’ve not been the biggest fan of Cairns as a city but wow this tour is one of my favourites I’ve done during my month here.
I did Cape Tribulations with tour guide Conrad and WOW, not only was it great vibes, chilled and just what I needed on my last day in Aus but Conrad probably is the best tour guide I’ve ever had. His voice is fit for smooth radio and all his commentary is perfection.
We had a great giggle in the creek and the lunch provided was chefs kiss.
I’ve always wanted to visit the rainforest and I’m so glad I booked with uncle Brian’s to tick this off the bucket list!

“Fun and easily enjoyable”
Such a lovely and chill day trip! Just show up and the tour guide looks after you! There was such variety throughout the day and lots of time to appreciate all the views and landscape. The tour guide Coco was so helpful and friendly and created a relaxing and fun day! Great for any age or type of group-suitable for everyone. All the staff so kind and we were well looked after. I felt like I got to see everything there was to be seen and much more convenient than navigating it myself or with a car.
“NOT just for young people”
This was our favorite day from our two week trip to Australia. We were a little taken aback when we got on the tour bus and discovered that as a couple in our late 50s, we were 30 years older than everyone else on the tour. However, the other people were fun and accepting, and we had a great time, seeing and doing things we never would have been able to do on our own.
Special call out to our tour guide, Conrad, who was truly one of the best guides we have ever had - he is friendly, knowledgeable, made us feel included, and played great music!

Review for Uncle Brains 2 day tour
I had a great time on the Uncle Brains 2 day tour! The trip was very eventful and included breathtaking waterfalls, picturesque lakes and the mesmerising rainforest.
Our guide Frankie was fantastic and taught us a lot about the culture, the rainforest and the indigenous people. A highlight was definitely the rainforest walk and the small market in a charming village with delicious coffee and banana bread.
The accommodation was lovely and the food was delicious! All in all a perfect trip - thank you Frankie for an unforgettable experience!

We had a really great time on the cape tribulation tour. Tom was a great tour guide throughout the day. The included lunch was good and there were other snacks provided at other points in the day too. Only thing that we felt could be improved would have been if the crocodile tour was a bit longer, we’d have happily skipped the beach stop in port Douglas to allow for more time on the croc cruise to increase chances of seeing more there.
Overall a great day and would really suggest booking with uncle Brian’s tours.

I went on the Cape Tribulation day tour. It rained all day long however it’s still an excellent tour despite the weather and our tour guide Jake, was so positive and entertaining, he made it very worthwhile. You do spend all day on the bus driving with lots of stops but it’s a great way to see all the sights. Plenty of food and drinks provided throughout the day and a bonus ice cream stop!

I did the 2-day 'Best of Both Worlds' tour with Uncle Brian's and had an absolute blast! Our guide Gus was brilliant and worked so hard to ensure that we managed to pack so much in in 2 days: from the famous Milla Milla Falls to night canoeing on Lake Tinaroo, and then, for the second day, from wallaby feeding in the Granite gorge, croc watching along the Daintree river and walks through the rainforest to the beaches around Cape Tribulation. I particularly loved the fact that we were able to swim at so many of the spots we stopped at which was so rejuvenating whilst being amongst such an old part of the natural world.
Despite running these tours all the time, Gus still told us stories and facts about each stop with such passion whilst doing so much driving of the bus with us all in! Even the food provided at each meal was delicious so Uncle Brian's really know how to put on an excellent tour covering every aspect. The only negative I could think of was that I found the hostel room at the Eco lodge to be super hot (with no AC only one faulty fan) but other than that was a lovely place to stay. It was a joy and a privilege to do this tour and I came away with so many unique, wonderful memories. Thanks Uncle Brian's!

I did the Uncle Brian’s Best of Both Worlds tour in April 2025 & had a great time!
Our guide, Angus, was outstanding. He communicated the itinerary very well on multiple occasions, was knowledgable about the area, and even came up with games, challenges and tunes to make some of the longer drives fly by.
The food which was provided was good quality cooked meals which were able to cater for all manor of dietary requirements.
I believe this is a must do tour when in Cairns.

I've done a fair few tours up the East Coast of Australia, but the "Fun, Falls & Forest" tour with Uncle Brian's has been my favourite by FAR.
We visited some incredible swimming places and did some short walks through the rainforest, each of which was better than the last. From several large lakes to a natural waterslide & the most incredible waterfall, this was a day to remember and an absolute MUST-DO if you're in Cairns and have a day to spend exploring!
Brian, our guide was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgable about the area, he really did make the trip that bit more special. Thank you so much:)
The food provided was also excellent & plentiful, with morning and afternoon tea, coffee and cake provided too! We had a delicious lunch of chicken, couscous, pasta & salad followed by dessert too!
I did have an issue with my booking but it was sorted quickly so I have to commend their customer service!

“Unreal Day”
Trent was an absolute legend!!! He was so involved with all the people on the boat and made it 100x easier to talk to new people with the games and music he played! Taught us how to do the famous hair flick at Milla Milla Falls and got some mad pics. The tour was also unreal, so many sick spots that were seen and the weather was unreal. The food was amazing also, we were constantly being fed with great food. I couldn’t recommend this tour more if you’re a solo traveller or just a young person looking to have a fantastic day. A jam packed day of beautiful waterfalls and rainforests. Our tour guide, Cousin Pauly, was such high energy from the start of the day until the end. On the bus he kept the facts/games/music/snacks (and a few terrible jokes) flowing, which made the driving between destinations so easy.
At each of the swimming spots he made sure we were safe and also took some great photos that we shared via photocircle with the rest of the group. Lunch was also really good too!
10/10 recommend the tour. I was exhausted by the end of the day but very happy. One of my favourite experiences in Australia so far!

My husband and I did the 1 Day Cape Tribulation Tour. Our guide, Coco, was fantastic! He was personable, fun, and kept our busy day on track. The lunch was solid (they offered several types of burgers such as beef, chicken, fish). The swimming spot was refreshing and had a fun little rope swing. One of the highlights of our trip was spotting wildlife. We saw a crocodile, bats, a spider, a monitor, a sand crab, and even a cassowary! We stoped at Daintree Ice Cream on the way home and purchased a tasty treat before the long drive back to Cairns. We appreciated the bus games on the way home which made the trip much more enjoyable.

I went on the waterfalls tour on 29th November with Conrad as our guide. Can not recommend the tour and him enough. He was so fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. Each place we stopped was better than the last and we were well fed and entertained throughout.

The trip was great, my highlight being the crocodile cruise. Although being off season we still saw a mum and her 33 3 day old babies. My partner & I did the rainforest tour. Overall I do believe that it is good value for money contrary to a couple of the reviews that I have read. We had a great time and our tour guide Courtney (Tour Guide Barbie) was excellent from start to finish.
However I have only given the tour 4* as I do believe that the time you do get at each stop is very short in comparison to the time spent on the bus. This is not the tour guides fault, they obviously have a route to follow but more for a management perspective to take a look at as I felt that we were only in each place for 20minutes.
Perhaps take out one stop (in my opinion probably the first stop) to allow more time at other stops which would ensure people have enough time to actual enjoy the things they want on the tour itself. Sometimes it felt like you get in the water and then 5 minutes later you’re back out and on the bus again.
Again, this is not a reflection on our tour guide at all, she made the day for us.

She was chatty with everyone, very informative, gave us some great local stories and anecdotes and made sure everyone was having fun. Don’t get me wrong, the stops we made to the waterfalls and lake were absolutely beautiful, but she just made the experience that much better. What’s great about Uncle Brian’s is that it is very backpacker-friendly, which means you also get to meet some like-minded people to spend the day with. Could not recommend enough!

The tour exceeded my already very high expectations, it was a perfect way to end my travels up the east coast and definitely a highlight of my time in Australia. My tour guide Brian was what made the trip especially memorable. Arguably my favourite tour guide of all time, cannot fault him one bit. Brian was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and was absolutely hilarious, keeping the general atmosphere amongst the group very high. “Uncle Brian’s Best of Both Worlds overnight tour”
My experience with Uncle Brian's Tour was absolutely amazing! I booked the tour for two days and it was one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Cairns.
Day 1: Atherton Tablelands, waterfalls & wildlife:
The tour started early in the morning, but as soon as we set off, the adventure had already begun. Our guide Coco was absolutely fantastic! He was super enthusiastic, friendly and had lots of interesting facts about the nature and the places we visited. We started the day with a visit to Babinda Boulders, where we did a beautiful rainforest walk. I saw some big spiders (fortunately not dangerous!), but it was mainly enjoying the nature. After that, we went swimming in a creek, which was a really refreshing experience.
The rest of the day was also fantastic! We visited Josephine Falls, where we could swim and even go down a natural slide - so much fun! Lunch was delicious, with chicken, quiche, couscous and pasta salad, and then we continued to Milla Milla Waterfall. The waterfall was beautiful and you could also stand under it for a bit of a pick-me-up. Later in the afternoon we swam in Lake Eacham, a volcanic lake. The surroundings were beautiful and we relaxed here for a bit.
After a stop to look for platypuses, we ended the day with a beautiful tree that served as inspiration for Avatar. When we got back to the hostel, we were all exhausted but super happy. The evening ended with a night canoe trip through the rainforest, where we spotted various animals and really experienced the magic of nature.
Day 2 - Wallabies, Crocodiles & Daintree Rainforest:
The second day started with an early breakfast and a visit to Granite Gorge Nature Park, where we got to feed the wallabies – so cute! Then we headed to Cape Tribulation, where the Daintree Rainforest meets The Great Barrier Reef. This was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We went to the beach, but unfortunately we couldn’t swim because of the crocodiles and jellyfish. We then walked through the rainforest, where we saw more animals and even snakeskin and a spider. After lunch we relaxed at a private swimming spot – perfect!
On the way back we enjoyed the beautiful views over the sea during the drive, and I now understand why the route from Port Douglas to Cairns is considered "one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives". We made a short stop to watch the sunset, and the day ended with a nice drive back to Cairns.
Note:
We were very well fed during the tour! Lots of snacks, good lunches, nice dinners and also the option to buy food/drinks during the stops.
Conclusion:
This tour was really an amazing experience. I learned so much, enjoyed the nature and met new people. Coco was a fantastic guide who made the adventure even more special. He created a nice atmosphere, super fun bus rides and came up with alternatives when something was disappointing. If you are in Cairns, this tour is really a must-do, especially if you like nature, adventure and unique experiences. I am super happy that I did this tour and can recommend it to everyone!

Conrad was the best tour guide! catered to all needs and made sure we all had a fun filled day while going at our own pace. Lots of opportunities for people of all abilities to enjoy some water and beautiful views, a true piece of heaven at the waterfalls plenty of fun stuff for the thrill seakers by no pressure at all to push yourself too far out of your comfort zone. Food was provided as well as games, songs, puzzles and pens on the bus to decorate the windows. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone travelling around cairns, they really look after you and are all so chill and nice xx

Coco was an awesome tour guide on our 2 day best of both worlds tour!!
We visited so many places and got the opportunity to do so much stuff!
The accommodation was cute, clean dorms with a really yummy dinner & breakfast.
Coco’s tunes on the bus were awesome, he had to put up with our singing for the whole 2 days!
The bus games we played were hilarious too!
Major bonus - we saw a Cassowary.
What an awesome way to remember our time in Cairns!
“Fantastic experience”
The Uncle Brian tour really lived up to the hype. My partner and I had a wonderful time, the tour was filled with lots of stunning spots, lovely meals/snacks across both days and a fantastic tour guide, Brian. We thought it was great value for money and would recommend anyone visiting Cairns, especially the 2 day best of both worlds tour.
Special shout-out to Brian who made our trip, with his enthusiasm, knowledge and supply of chocolate.

My boyfriend and I had the best time on this trip! Our tour guide Brian was both kind and hilarious, and did everything to make sure everyone was having fun. There were loads of stops both days and lots of opportunities to swim and jump around in lakes/creeks/waterfalls, the accomodation at Wallaby Eco Lodge was lovely, and we had about 50000 snacks given to us throughout the trip! We learnt a lot about the rainforest and the surrounding areas of Cairns, would 100% recommend worth every cent.

The trip itself packed so much into our 2 day adventure to the rainforest, cape tribulation and the waterfalls. Our tour guide Brian made the trip 10x better. So much energy, bringing stories and jokes all the way round. The trip would have been good as it was, but Brian brought it from good to amazing. Would recommend 1000%

'Fun, Falls and Forests' daytrip: no better description than the name! Great fun, beautiful places to see, some games on the bus to keep us entertained and a guide (Conrad) who found the exact balance between informative and fun. Also a great way to meet people (often other solo travellers). Would definitely recommend!

What a day, we done the waterfalls tour with Conrad, he is an absolute legend, made our tour one of a kind. Brings so much enthusiasm and fun to the day, just makes it that much more special. Seen some incredible waterfalls, had some amazing food, some brilliant laughs, plenty of snacks, and lots of swimming and listened to some great music! Conrad has so much knowledge it’s amazing, never failed to answer any questions, can’t recommend the trip enough, if you’re lucky you’ll get to experience the trip with him!

I went with my friend but made friends for life on this trip. Brian was our guide and he was an absolute gentleman. His knowledge of the beautiful places he took us was just outstanding and he was was a pleasure to be around. You can tell how much he and his company care about the nature and the area they took us about. Stayed in an overnight tour and we had snacks, delicious food, good laughs and an absoloute ball! Can’t reccomend enough.
He told us he had a daughter and I can imagine she is so proud to have a dad like that. To see a local person so positive and proud of his country was amazing and made it so worth it! We learnt more in two days than we did in the week we were travelling alone!
Thank you Brian for being an amazing start to our trip around the east coast and showing us around the rainforests and cape tribulation. Highly highly reccomend

We did the best of both worlds 2 day, 1 night tour , with our tour guide being Brian. He was absolutely excellent. Action packed 2 days with fitting so many activities in. Had enough time in each place, bus had good aircon and Brian was very knowledgeable.
Accommodation wasn’t great and food wasn’t great. So realistically more 4.5/5 but didn’t deserve a 4.
Would defo recommend to anyone visiting Cairns.

“A great 2 day trip”
We had a great time on the 2 day tour with Coco as our guide! All of the spots we visited were beautiful and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Coco provided us with lots of information and knowledge along the way and made sure we all had the best time both on and off the bus. All of the meals and accommodation provided on the tour were of great quality and there was also plenty of snacks and tea and coffee provided throughout. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone doing the east coast - it was definitely a highlight for us!

“Our favourite tour we’ve ever been on!”
We did the Best of Both worlds overnight trip and absolutely loved our time with Brian as our brilliant tour guide. From the fantastic playlist and fun bus games to Brian’s good humour and great knowledge of the areas we were visiting, I felt that this group tour had an extremely good energy and none of us wanted the fun to end. We especially loved the waterfall visits, the magic of the night canoe, and being lucky enough to see crocs, turtles, and a platypus in their natural habitats. I’d highly recommend this tour to travellers who want to have a bit of fun and get to meet people from all over the world while experience Cairns’ beautiful surroundings, and definitely ask for Brian as your guide to guarantee a great time!

I took part on the 1 Day Cape Tribulation Day Tour, it was such an amazing experience. I had so much fun! We were able to see some many locations, which were superb and such fun! 10/10!! Trent was such a lovely and friendly guide, he truly made this a great experience!!

“The best day!”
I did the best of both worlds overnight trip with a friend and we both had an amazing time. Our tour guide Ky was really knowledgable and interesting and was able to manage the whole group really well. Ky went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time and had lots of photos to remember it, so a big thankyou to Ky!
The days were very jam packed, which was great and we really felt like we got our moneys worth. The food was really substantial and the lodge where we stayed was so nice, with a really nice dinner.
My friend has food intolerances and they were really accommodating of this and ensured they had substantial meals like everyone else.
I’d recommend this tour to anyone, as long as you’re happy with long and busy days.

Both tours were brilliant! I lots of fun doing the activities they had arranged and seeing the beautiful sites included with each tour.

Highlight of my Tour of Australia! Four of us did the 1 day tour with Uncle Brian's, Conrad was our guide and he was an absolute legend. Every stop was brilliant, the waterfall was our favourite though. The craic on the bus with all the gang while going from place to place was so fun. i did the overnight tour and it was great. we did various different activities like swimming in waterfalls and creeks, canoeing, a boat tour and feeding wallabies. the food was good and our tour guide jamie was really motivated and told us a lot of interesting facts and stories.

We did the Fun, Falls and Rainforest tour today with Cousin Pauly and Josh who were fantastic. The day started off with tea and cakes, and we went to 3 different spots to swim. We also went to Millaa Millaa waterfall which was great, unfortunately we didn’t get to slide down the boulders due to the rain but this didn’t take away from the day. There is a lot of driving on this tour but we had a lot of fun on the bus, singing, games and learning a lot of facts.
Overall really recommend this tour and again a massive thank you to Pauly and Josh

Had an amazing time during my 2-day lasting tour! My amazing guide Jamie, a true Aussie, told us lots of wild (animal) facts while we explored the vast amount of pools and paths through the rainforest!
Amazing company during your long day trips, and even at the place where you stay if you do the Best of 2 Worlds tour!
Feeding wild rock-wallabies, touching harmless spiders and spotting some massive saltwater cross really made this an experience to never forget!
You get served amazing good food, all made fresh and locally and there is pretty much something for every taste!

One of the best days out from the whole east coast trip. Visited some incredible places. Cousin Pauly the tour guide really made it an experience of a lifetime, made the whole trip enjoyable and took time to get to know everyone. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling the east coast as it’s definitely an east coast must see.

I had a great time. Funny and knowledgeable guide, truly full day adventure. We went to swim in the rain forest, visited amazing beaches, went for a rain forest botanic garden walk, crocodile cruise on the river. The only thing maybe that I've stayed a bit hungry after lunch.
“Great way to spend a day”
I escaped to Cairns for some diving. As it is best to wait 24 hours after diving before flying, I had some time to kill.... so, I booked the day with Uncle Brian's.
The trip exceeded expectations. First off, I am 50 years old and I was probably twice the age of most of the people on the tour. While the tour probably appeals to a younger crowd, I ended up having a great time. I thought the trip was well planned (a fair amount of driving, but you end up seeing a lot). In addition, the stops were all great with heaps of variety and interesting things to see. Also, the tour guide, Conrad, was an absolute legend. He catered well to all types of travelers (active swimmers to spectators). All and all, it was a great day out!

Great tour led by Josh into the Daintree. Absolute character who brought a great energy to the day along with providing an encyclopedia worth of knowledge as well. Would highly recommend. A great way to meet new friends if travelling solo like myself as well.

I had a really great day! There was quite a lot of driving but we saw many different, beautiful places in return with three possibilities to swim. There were vegan/lactose free options for lunch but no plant based milk for the coffee break (would be great and easy to add especially on an „eco certified“ tour).
Anyways - most importantly I want to point out our amazing tour guide Conrad. Such a kind and easygoing person with a lot of knowledge and good (flat-ish) jokes - he really made the trip complete!
[Introverts beware: good but loud music and many (ice breaker) games were played while driving and the day was pretty long. Can become quite draining but feasable for one day.]

We did the waterfall tour today and oh my gosh it exceeded my greatest expectations it was amazing! Our guide Conrad was just the best, he provided a day full of fun and took us to so many amazing places! From the second we got on the bus it was so much fun and I’ve done a lot of tours in my three months of backpacking and I’ve got to say Uncle Brian’s has been one of my favourites! The tour guides make the trip and we got so lucky with ours! Conrad thank you for an amazing day full of games and fun! The waterfalls were so beautiful and I just had the best day, especially since today was our last day in Australia before we head home! What a day to end the trip with! Thank you!!

I cannot fault this trip, it was planned perfectly down to every detail. The tour guide - Kurt put in two long days a shift to keep us entertained, comfortable and inspired by everything we saw. He had incredible knowledge about the local areas and I learnt so much.
I also think for what is included the price you get a lot for your money. This is by far the best tour I’ve been on in Australia and perhaps globally!
I came onto this page and saw the less positive reviews - I would suggest you ignore these because if you have a sense of humour and adventure you will thoroughly enjoy this!

Uncle Brian’s tour was an awesome experience! We kicked it iff by meeting our guide for the day, Cousin Kurt, outside our hotel bright and early. From there we got to see crocs, some amazing beaches, and some beautiful views. Cousin Kurt made sure there was never a dull moment. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to have some fun!

Our tour guide Jamie was great, making sure we were all having a good time and acting as the group photographer so we could enjoy the trip and not worry about pictures. I learnt so much about the rainforest, wildlife, and surrounding indigenous cultures. And all the food we were given was delicious

“Happy Days”
The waterfall tour with Ky was so much fun! I was much older than most of the group but was welcomed in and felt very much a part of everything.
We swam in 4 different spots, jumped off rocks, dove thru a waterfall, and went down a rock slide. The food was delicious and plentiful. Lots of snacks and fresh hot chocolate at the end when I needed it most. Ky was an amazing guide with a phenomenal playlist that made me (and all of us) sing along. Why don’t we sing more often?!?

Had the best couple of days on the overnight Uncle Brian’s tour and was one of my favourite things I did on my Aus East Coast trip. I could not fault our tour guide Jamie who was so knowledgeable about the area. She really encouraged the group to take it all in and appreciate the iconic sights such as the Millaa Millaa waterfall. A great way to tick off so many places in North Queensland all while supporting local businesses selected by Uncle Brian’s but also Uncle Brian’s themselves. A must do on the Aus East Coast!

Best trip ever!!!!! I loved every second of my tour. The first day was all waterfalls, amazing views, good music and great vibes! Our tour guide Jamie had a couple surprise activities - feeding the rock wallabies was amazing as was the ice cream :) Second day we went to the Daintree, for our boat ride along the river and to the beach!!! Jamie was absolutely incredible, very informative and provided great energy the whole trip, thank you!

This was the highlight of our trip! Cousin Pauly was the best guide, he made the entire day so fun and entertaining, and also had so much knowledge to share about Carins ("cannnnssss"). My girlfriend and I went on the 1 Day Cape Tribulation Tour. Cousin Pauly was our guide for the day and we couldn’t have asked for better - he was very funny producing great banter and also very knowledgable around the area as he himself is from Cairns.
What we thought was going to be a long, tiring day turned out to be 1 of our favourite days in Cairns. The tour is broken up very well by all of the stops and viewpoints and Cousin Pauly also chucked in a few surprises and games for us to spot extra wildlife which was amazing.
Are also very well fed with morning tea, snacks and a proper restaurant lunch in the rainforest!
Couldn’t be more thankful and would HIGHLY recommend this! Especially to Cousin Pauly!!!
“So worthwhile”
This honestly was one of the best parts of my trip to Cairns. I had an incredible day with Conrad. The day was so much fun and we saw so much including waterfalls, the rainforest, amazing scenery and local animals. I can't recommend this trip enough. I would probably book the Cape Tribulation trip if I had the time.

Had the best time yesterday on the uncle Brian’s forest/waterfall day trip, saw some amazing waterfalls and walks of the stunning landscapes around cairns. Cousin Paulie however made the day, he was very funny and engaging and kept the group laughing and having a great time. Defiantly the best tour guide I’ve had on my east coast trip. “A WorthwhileTour”
Delightful trips on Fun, Falls and Forest and Cape Tribulation with the friendliest guides (Jamie and Ky) who created a great atmosphere with enthusiastic and interesting information about the areas, traditions and history. We got very rainy weather so the waterfalls were in full flow and the guides really kept spirits up. Plenty of really tasty food (lunch and lots of snacks) is provided on both trips so you won't go hungry.

Uncle brain was just an amazing experience, we did the two day tour and I can assure you that it was the best option for us as it prevented the tour from feeling rushed whilst also allowing us to get to know each other on the tour better and make new friends, the waterfalls were stunning and all of my praise goes to cousin Kurt who was just a phenomenal guide, his energy was amazing and he just really seemed to love what he does which made it so much more enjoyable.

Did the overnight tour with Jamie as our guide and it was absolutely amazing. Plenty of food and well organised, fun, jam packed days! Jamie was so positive, upbeat and helpful and it was really interesting to learn so much about the area, culture and wildlife. I would definitely recommend!!

A group of 4 of us (2 male 2 female, all 28yo) did this tour. Although the weather wasn't ideal, it did not disappoint. Cousin Paulie entertained us with stories, games, local knowledge, and jokes as we zipped from waterfall to waterfall. “Fully recommended tour.”
I participated at the best of both worlds tour and really enjoyed it! The Wallaby lodge was GREAT, the food throughout the whole trip was amazing (nice breakfast, lunch and dinner and heaps of snacks during the day) and our tour guide, Kurt, was a good laugh. Very motivating and energetic.
Personally, I liked the first day (waterfall tour) more than the second day (rainforest tour), because the second day was a little bit stressful in my point of view, we got off the bus and on the bus and off the bus again in very short periods. Also, the rainforest walk was closed after ~100m so we didn’t get to walk far inside. BUT the wallaby feeding that day was amazing! And we even saw a cassowary.
All in all, the trip was totally worth it and especially the first day is lots of fun and beautiful nature.

This experience was amazing!! Despite travelling three weeks following a cyclone, the tour company were able to make adjustments to the itinerary to fill both days of our tour. We didn't feel like we missed out at all.
Our guide, Jamie, did an amazing job. She was really relatable and made the tour feel as though we were surrounded by friends the entire time. She did a great job of capturing all the moments, especially around the water activities where we didn't bring our phones.
The best part was hand feeding the rock wallabies. The company does a great job of keeping this spot under wraps, whilst the wallabies are super friendly and willing to be fed.
“Once in a lifetime outback experience”
I went on the Cape Tribulation Day Tour and it was amazing! Got picked up/dropped off by the hostel and had a great time. The tour includes a Saltwater Crocodile sightseeing which was awesome. Furthermore we got a great Lunch and even an ice cream. Our tour guide was a local so he could provide us with a lot of information!

“One of the best tours I ever had”
We did the Fun, Falls and Forests / Cairns Waterfall & Rainforest Tour and it was purely awesome. We have done many tours in several parts of the world, but this was by far one of the best tours we did. Our guide Conrad was super enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun. Even though the weather was not perfect and we had some heavy rain, he made the whole experience worth it. The stops we did were great and beautiful - definitely bring your swimwear.
We would definitely recommend this tour, the company Uncle Brian's and especially our guide Conrad.

We had an amazing time on this tour! The food, people and places were fantastic. The company adjusted really well to restrictions caused by the flooding yet it was still really worth the money! I did the Cape tribulation tour and my guide Pauli was very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately we did not see many crocs during the cruise but this doesn’t depend on the tour, it is simply nature guys!
The forest is amazing and swimming in the creek is unforgettable, although I would have love to walk a bit longer in the forest and felt like time was a bit strict as there’s a lot of driving :(

My partner and I had an absolute blast on the Uncle Brian’s Waterfalls day trip. Our tour guide, Cousin Paulie gave us the best of experiences and there was never a dull moment with his positive energy and sense of fun. The tour hit some amazing swimming spots & we learned so much about Cairns and the flora and fauna in the North Queensland area. Food was amazing and plentiful. Lots of games and great tunes on the bus. Thank you Paulie for a top day out from start to finish!

“native animal and world heritage”
I had such a fantastic day with Lisa and the group I went with.
The highlight for me was seeing Cape Tribulation. Words can not describe how beautiful the view was of the the great barrier reef meeting the ocean was (check out my piccies).
Lisa, the coach was a local, and
knew a lot about not only the places we went to but other popular beaches to visit. She was very nice and went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy.
This tour includes two world heritage locations.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting north queensland.
“From the rainforest to crocodiles”
The visits included in the package we're well balanced and diversed. I strongly suggest an overnight stay. It gives free time and most importantely time to feel the rainforest.
Our guide Rob made the experience even more memorable. He's so attentive and enthousiastic.
We saw a big crocodile on the cruise and we even saw Cassowary birds.
“Awesome trip experience Cape Trip!”
We did the overnight trip with Jungle Tours and we really enjoyed ourselves!
The journey up was very scenic and our tour guide was super informative and very pleasant to listen to. It's great to learn about animals/plants I've never heard of. We even licked an ants bum because it tastes like a super sour lime!
We stayed overnight at the Beach House which is a beautiful setting of cabins amongst the rainforest, and then literally on the beach. In the afternoon we went horse riding which was epic! I've ridden horses quite a bit, but this was by far the best experience riding the horses through the rainforest and out onto the beach, even going into the sea a little bit :)
The breakfast was a selection of cereals, toast & fruit which was delicious and plentiful.
In the morning we booked last minute the e-bike mountain biking trip, which was epic! This was a very new trip that had only just started running but was very well organised with the e-bikes making it easy for non confident riders to easily climb the steep hills!
Overall, Cape Trib is a beautiful part of Australia, very relaxing but also a lot of activities to take part in. Highly recommended!
“Unforgettable”
We did the Cape Tribulation overnight tour. Our guide Geoff picked us up right on time at our hotel. He is such a nice guy, one of the nicest guides we've ever had. You can also tell that he is really passionated about the Daintree rainforest. We've visited the Wildlife Habitat and afterwards headed to the rainforest and Cape Tribulation, where we had a nice lunch. For us, since we booked the overnight tour, this was the place where we would stay for the night. It was really a once in a lifetime experience. I was afraid that there would be spiders or other insects in our room (we had the beach crip), but it was very clean. Also the walkways are well maintained so it's very unlikely you would walk in a spider's web. We spend some time at the swimming pool, did a walk on the beach (not to close to the sea, because it's a crocodile area) and had a great dinner. Afterwords we did a nightwalk (booked extra at the reception) where we went looking for nocturnal animals (not for people who are really afraid of spiders, because it is a small walkway and there are spiders on less than a meter left and right of you). I really want to give my compliments to the staff of Cape Tribulation, they were really lovely and helpfull people!! The next day we were picked up around noon, we were really hoping it would be Geoff again, but it was one of his coworkers so at first that was a bit disappointing. But Robert did his very best to make us feel welcome in this new group, and we must say that he really did a great job and was a real nice guide to. On the way we spotted a Cassuwary with to chicks next to the road, really nice to see this in real life.
Overall we had a real great time!

“Cape Trib 2 night trip”
We did the 2 night 3 day Go Wild trip - really fantastic. The accommodation they organised was amazing (Cape Trib Beach House), and the activities on the first and last day were amazing. We had only organised one activity for the middle day (Ocean Safari - also amazing), but the area was so amazing we were really happy to relax. Some people were annoyed about the free time, but honestly I really enjoyed having that extra time to enjoy the surrounds. The Daintree river cruise was beautiful too! Nice small group, and I didn't feel overrun by big crowds, like you do in Cairns.
“An incredible experience”
The Uncle Brian’s Best of Both Worlds Tour was truly an incredible experience. We had not heard of this before in comparison to the rest of the activities that happen along the East Coast which is baffling! Our travel agent who helped us book our Australia travels suggested this trip and we are SO glad they did. From swimming in the Daintree forest to being on the beach where two world heritage sites meet (Cape Tribulation), supporting local businesses, learning the history of the areas we visited and so much more, we had an absolutely amazing time. We met amazing people and our tour guide Coco was fantastic. The tour was very well organised with plenty of things to do and see to keep us entertained. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Cairns!
