Our full day sightseeing tour into Arnhem Land offers guests an opportunity to visit Aboriginal lands, see magnificent ancient rock art, visit a stunning billabong, see local bird and wildlife and meet local Aboriginal artists at Injalak Arts and Craft Centre, Oenpelli (Gunbalanya).
Our Arnhem Land sightseeing day tour is suitable for people of all ages and there is no minimum fitness level required. There is very little walking and art sites are very accessible. Although the surfaces may be uneven, guests will have no trouble reaching any of the sites. This tour does not include walking up Injalak Hill.

- An air-conditioned 4WD, leaving Darwin at 5:15am with a stop at Coroboree Park Tavern, then picking up at Aurora Kakadu at 7:50am and Jabiru at 8:30am. Accommodation transfers, park entry fees and entry into Arnhem Land are all included.

“Best day”
Our day was fantastic from start to end. We were picked up by Tim in Jabiru and he drove us across Cahills crossing to Gunbalanya. Tim shared and explained what we would do for the day and was really good at reminding us all to drink plenty of water as we would be out in the heat for 3-4hours. At Gunbalanya we met our guide, Sebastian, at Injalak Arts. He showed us around the centre, introduced us to some of the artists and talked about his community.
The highlight was Injalak Hill. The rock art is breathtaking and there is so much. We climbed up and over rocks, through crevices, pass caves and under ledges and around every ‘corner’ was more spectacular rock art. Seb talked about the stories, his culture and his country which added so much meaning to our day.
It was an absolute privilege to experience this special place and we are really grateful for the opportunity.
Time had the best gift for us at the end of the day and had us back inJabiru safe and sound by 4pm.
Thanks so much Tim and Sebfor the best day and one we will look back on as a highlight of our trip to the top end.
“Once in a lifetime”
Absolutely fantastic experience! Smooth transition from the pick up in Darwin, to when we arrived in Arnhem Land. The guide - Tim and First Nations guides - Sebastian and John were fantastic! Highly recommend doing this tour. The walk up to injalak hill was challenging at times but absolutely worth it once you made it up. Please don’t do this tour if you’re expecting it to have a flight of stairs, this is a true cultural experience and a wonderful one!

Had an exceptionally good time, made better by our driver – Tim.
He was always accommodating and friendly, and facilitated everything effortlessly.
Our local Guide for Injalak on the day (Sebastian) was an absolute gem. He knew so much about the area, including the history and the rock artforms, and was very enthusiastic in imparting that knowledge.
It was a long day, but absolutely worth the effort!!

A long days travel that was worth it. Fantastic rock art, but made even better by the guide Craig, sharing insight and culture. Tim is good at assisting when needed, but letting tour flow with the guide. Excellent day.
“Amazing Arnhem Land”
This was a fantastic experience. Tim isn’t short of a story and made the longish drive from Darwin pass quickly. The landscape of Arnhem Land is spectacular and varied - from jabirus and brolgas on green glowing wetlands to rich red rock outcrops . Our local guide met us at the Injalak Art Centre, which is full of work by present day local artists . We did a bit of croc spotting just outside the centre, accompanied by soaring eagles, and then went up the hill to see the work of artists of days gone by whilst our guide told us stories. The sheer amount, variety and colour of the work was incredible. A relaxed black wallaroo hung around for a while. Great day . The small group size was nice.

Had an incredible, once in a lifetime day out with Tim and local guides Seb and John. Seb & John shared stories, traditional knowledge and insights, and guided us around the beautiful landscape they call home. The walk initially sounded a bit challenging but the pace was great and everyone helped everyone along. The rock formations are spectacular to walk among. And then of course, the highlight was the rock art which was out of this world, such detail and so much of it, that it was hard to take it all in. So grateful to have the opportunity to find out more about the stories behind the art. Thanks to the team for an unforgettable experience. Would highly recommend.

I had an amazing day out with Top End Day Tours on 9/9/2022. It was a dynamic and authentic experience packed with stunning scenery and walks, and full of absorbing Indigenous culture and history which was presented by Nicholas our Indigenous guide and traditional owner. Nicholas provided any information asked of him in a genuine way, as well as spending one-on-one time talking with each of us. Tim widened the experience by being excellent intermediary and companion, and Tim's genuine care for our safety and well-being was enjoyably mixed with an adept and entertaining flow of information. We were looked after from start to finish, and I particularly appreciated the supply of refreshing ice-cold towels while we waited for our delicious and fresh lunch.
Tim - the Proprietor, Operator/Guide and Driver at Top End Day Tours is a solid ambassador not only for his company, but importantly, for the Indigenous people, especially the guides who join the tours in Arnhem Land.

“Arnhemland rock art”
This tour was amazing. Tim was our tour director and he was on time for our 5 am hotel pick up. It was a long drive from Darwin to Arnhemland. On arrival we met up with our local indigenous guide Nick. They were both great fun, informative, and helpful throughout the day. Lunch was fresh and we had plenty of water supplied to top up our drinking bottles. There was a bit of steep climbing to view the rock art. Now I’m not a great rock climber at all but I was very confident with the help and instructions from Tim. It was a relaxed tour, fun day with amazing rock art.

We were lucky enough to have two local Indigenous guides join us, Seb and Curt, and their generous sharing of local history and culture was the highlight of the day.
To sit in these ancient rock galleries and experience local language and stories is a rare treat.
The relationship Tim has with the local community and Indigenous guides is clearly respectful and mutually beneficial, and this was important to us when choosing Top End Day Tours.

“A great immersive experience”
This tour was everything we expected. We expected to see beautiful places and rock art. We expected to have a knowledgeable host. And most importantly we expected to immerse ourselves in the oldest living culture, asking the traditional owners questions and listening to their stories. This tour delivered all of these things and then some. Tim was a great host, collecting us from our Darwin accommodation on time in an air conditioned bus. He answered all our questions on the way, but when met by our “Bininj” guide let him do all the talking. I would thoroughly recommend this tour. Oh, and lunch was sensational.
