Katherine Gorge, Nitmiluk, is 320km south of Darwin. As a day trip it is around 780km all up, so a night or two nearby is what turns the gorge from a long drive into a proper visit: you arrive rested, and you have the time the cruise and the rest of the park deserve.

  • A day at Nitmiluk without the camping. The five day Kakadu, Litchfield, Katherine and Arnhem Land trip gives the gorge a full day among rock art, waterfalls and wildlife, with nights at a powered camp and a permanent tented camp.
