Phillip Island, On Victoria's South Coast is home to a colony of around 32,000 Little Penguins. Each night hundreds sometime thousands of them waddle accross the beach at the world famous penguin parade.
This day tour includes nature walks along Phillip Island’s stunning beaches and boardwalks, meeting some of the local furry residents and of course the Penguin Parade.

Loved this Phillip Island penguin tour with guide Joel, who was informative and personable, mixing local facts with quiet time to just enjoy the scenery. An awesome Penguin Parade tour with Kiwi! He shared cool history about Melbourne and the island on the way, and even added an unplanned stop at beautiful Cape Woolamai beach. The day was perfectly timed - never rushed, never boring - and his tip to head back to the boardwalks early to see the penguins was spot on. Highly recommend.

We did the penguin parade and koala conservation tour with Craig and Barry. Craig was very friendly and directed us to the best hidden spots to see koalas and penguin burrows, and even gave a short intro to Melbourne's history on the way. The kids loved it. Highly recommended.

Our knowledgeable driver was passionate about both the koala conservation and the penguins, and the koala stop, the Nobbies and the beautiful drive along the water's edge were all lovely. Our guide Fiona took a great trip and made it amazing - she clearly loves nature, people and this tour, and was so warm and joyful that we were smiling from the moment we got on the bus. The bus itself was fantastic too, with comfortable seats, charging stations and onboard WiFi that made the drive easy for me and my kids. Big enough to be a proper tour yet still intimate. We had a great day.
A gorgeous, magical wildlife experience from the moment we met Fiona until the end. The views, wildlife and information helped us connect with nature in a way we didn't expect, with animal conservation education a big part of the day. We spotted koalas, wallabies, cape barren geese and, of course, the little penguins. The bus was comfortable and Fiona's driving put me at ease. A lucky, grateful day - you won't regret it.

I wanted a tour that included the Underground Viewing area and was glad to find this one - you watch the penguins at eye level from the underground platform and from the Penguin Plus seating. Exceeded all my expectations. The whole itinerary was exceptionally well planned and stress-free, and our guide/driver Kiwi was punctual, professional and full of wonderful insights. His warm manner made the drive fly by and the whole trip feel welcoming.
A fun and enjoyable trip where you get to see koalas and penguins in one outing. I appreciate Kiwi (Chris) as our driver and guide - his knowledge of Melbourne's history and the places we visited was superb. Visiting in May/June, be prepared for the freezing coastal wind and bring plenty of clothing.

Today I had the privilege of seeing the penguins for my second time in 2years. This time I chose to go with Autopia Tours and I'm glad I did. Our driver who unfortunately I cannot remember his name, was totally amazing. His knowledge that he shared was awesome and I feel like I know a lot more about Phillip island and it's history, the animals and especially the penguins. I can definitely recommend Autopia Tours in Melbourne for tours. (I went on the Penguins parade tour on the Friday 29th May 2026. If can find his name from that Autopia Tours, he needs a huge thankyou from me)

Comfortable, punctual, and very interesting to see the koalas in their protected habitat, and the penguin parade is unique. Everything is well organized. The explanations have been sufficient and interesting. I appreciated seeing the respect they show for the environment; everything is meticulously cared for to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.

Had a great day out with our Driver and Guide, Fiona. Expert and safe driver who showed a true enthusiasm to give information, ensure we all had a great time, she was accessible, personable, informative, and truly wanted us all to enjoy ourselves as much as possible. She was a delight to spend time with, and I would recommend her to anyone. We had a great time at the koala reserve and at thepenguin parade, despite a brief downpour of rain. Everything went great and her ability to get us all back to our best drop- off in rainy weather was very much appreciated. I had an amazing time on this tour! Pick up location was easy and on time. Fi was our guide and she was wonderful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. We went first to Cowes and had fish and chips overlooking the ocean, then to the koala conservation centre - the koalas were so close and so cute! I also fell in love with the little wallabies. We then went to Nobbies which was breathtaking and then the best for last - the Penguin Parade which is an experience I will never ever forget (I upgraded to Premium and it was worth every penny). Overall a wonderful day with a wonderful tour guide - thank you Fi!

Highly recommend the Penguin Plus viewing option for much better Penguin viewing. Joel was very knowledgeable about koalas, penguins, and other wildlife. He had a great Playlist for the bus ride. He was always ready to answer questions. He has a great personality and is really sociable. All in all an amazing day.

Our driver Fiona collected us on time and the day flowed beautifully - a scenic drive with a stop to see koalas in their natural habitat, dinner in a little town, then the big show. The Penguin Platform Plus was well worth the extra and we saw over a hundred penguins; it starts slow and then, like magic, they appear. Fiona was knowledgeable and friendly. We were very impressed.

It's a long day but worth it — about three hours from Melbourne to Phillip Island, with a bathroom stop along the way. The Koala Sanctuary was lovely for close-up photos, and the Nobbies boardwalk offered great scenery. Our visit coincided with the penguins moulting so fewer came ashore, but those we saw were amazing. Bring a coat and expect a late night — no photos allowed at the parade.

We did the full Phillip Island experience, and the working farm was a highlight - honest and not gimmicky, with sheep shearing, whip cracking and sheepdog herding, plus a lovely island walk suitable for any age. The Koala Sanctuary was wonderful too; walk a little further and you'll find koalas at eye level being utterly adorable. A beautiful day out with visitors of all ages.

A bushfire had closed the koala reserve so our route changed slightly, but Tomas explained the situation and was understanding about our disappointment. Highly recommended - the koala conservation stop followed by the penguins was amazing. Worth upgrading to the plus package for better, closer seating. Photography isn't allowed, but they supply videos and photos afterwards, which is a nice touch. Gift shop is good too.

We loved this tour. The koala preserve was fun and relaxed, letting us go at our own pace, and as bird lovers we found the birds even more interesting than the koalas. The Nobbies was beautiful, and in late January we could still see a few baby penguins. The Penguin Parade was a treat, and all in all the trip was well worth it - we enjoyed it very much.

Did the Phillip Island penguin and koala trip - guide Sean was brilliant, informative and clearly passionate about Australian wildlife. The roughly two-hour drive there flew by thanks to his commentary and music choices. The koala conservation area isn't a petting zoo - it's about seeing them in a natural state, dozing in trees or moving between eucalypts. The Nobbies boardwalk was windy but scenic, with views to Seal Island, and we stopped in Cowes for food. The penguin parade at dusk was brilliant to watch, even without photos allowed - plenty of official pics and videos are available online. Well worth the trip.

A lovely experience even in the rain - it must be breathtaking on a sunny day. The Nobbies offered the most impressive rugged scenery, and finding penguin chicks waiting for their parents was heartwarming. Watching the adults emerge from the ocean and clamber up the hill with full bellies was quite something, and the Plus platform was a great vantage point. Seeing wild geese, wallabies, birds and of course the koalas was a lovely extra. Highly recommended.

We had the best time on our tour with Craig. The pick-up spot was convenient, the bus comfortable, the Phillip Island stops gorgeous, and the penguin parade even more fun than I'd expected - and I had high expectations. Even doing it on the day we arrived from the US on the back of a long travel day, the trip kept us engaged and moving and got our Australian adventure off to a great start.
Joel was a wonderful guide on our trip to Phillip Island — really descriptive and knowledgeable about the area. Such a friendly guy, he made our visit to Australia even more enjoyable.
Our guide made sure we had plenty of time at each stop to explore, and recommended the Island Thai Restaurant for a good meal. Bring layers for the penguin experience — it gets cold there. We met at the Immigration Museum and were dropped right at our hotel afterwards, a nice touch.

Highly recommend this day trip from Melbourne. Vickie was our guide and she was really engaging with the information she provided as well as the general vibe. The koala conservation was well worth the stop. The koalas are so cute and the eucalyptus smell was lovely. Nice early dinner stop in Cowes. The weather turned cold and rainy before we saw the Penguins, but it was still incredible to watch them waddle up the coastline to their little burrows. Total time from Melbourne and back was about 9 hours.

Vicky had so much helpful info on the bus ride and she was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly throughout the trip. Loved how many animals we saw at the Koala Conservation Center: recovering koala close up, releasable koala high in the trees, wallaby, echidna, galah, cockatoo- definitely worth walking around quietly to let nature reveal itself. The penguins were easy to see; stunning and I didn’t even have the premium pass. Be prepared for a late night. Return to Melbourne was at 11:15 (in October) because you operate on the penguins schedule.

An amazing day trip with Vicky, an excellent and safe driver who shared a real passion for the wildlife and gave us a wonderful history of Australia and Melbourne along the way. A koala even came out onto the railing and sniffed our shirts. She knew all the quietest spots and made sure everyone, with or without a Penguin Plus ticket, got a great close-up view of the penguins. I did this with a two-year-old and it was fantastic and pram-friendly throughout.

From start to finish, this day trip was an absolute delight. Our tour guide, Tom, made the whole experience extra special such a lovely, friendly, and fun guy! Our first stop was the Koala Conservation Centre, which was fantastic. The raised boardwalk allowed us to get a wonderful eye-level view of the koalas in their natural habitat, such a peaceful and unique experience.
Then it was on to Phillip Island for the main event. The penguin parade. Beforehand, Tom explained that photography isn’t allowed, as the flashes and lights can scare or disturb the penguins. I really appreciated this focus on protecting the animals. Watching the tiny penguins waddle up the beach at dusk was just magical, an experience I’ll truly treasure and remember forever.

Very nice trip. Tomas was helpful, friendly and informative. We also got to see Koalas up close during the trip. The Bass Strait viewing stops were stunning. It was a bit windy and chilly at penguin viewing deck so bring your jacket.

We can highly recommend this excursion. We had a leisurely drive to Phillip Island enjoying the countryside. At Phillip Island there was an opportunity to have lunch at Cowes. There were plenty of options. The Koala Conservation was amazing. Great to see these lovely animals up close. We also enjoyed the Woodland walk and got an opportunity to see some of the native birds. The scenery at the Nobbies was beautiful and a great opportunity to have a walk and take some photos. We had the penguin plus tickets which we highly recommend. The penguins come very close to our seating area. The day was very enjoyable and a big part of this is due to our driver and guide, Fiona. Fiona was very kind, friendly and also gave us helpful tips and advice. Fiona clearly cared a great deal about conservation and the Australian wildlife and this made us appreciate it more also.
“Once in a lifetime march of the penguins!”
Anthony was a great driver and guide. Chill and competent. The koala sanctuary was a nice little stop on the way to the main event, the Penguin Parade. The overlooks were scenic. Pay extra for the “Plus” experience. Get to the viewing platform as soon as you get there to get the best seat-wish we hadn’t stopped to eat, as we could have gotten a better seat. But as people leave you can move up to see more penguins and you get up close with them on the path, too, on the way out. Anthony didn’t rush us out, plenty of time to see the penguins on the slow walk back up the hill.

The Penguin Parade tour was magical and well worth doing. Our guide Fiona was warm and welcoming, gave us plenty of breaks, and made us feel right at home. It was a cold winter visit and the weather wasn't kind, but that didn't dampen the magic - our kids will remember it forever. Bring wet-weather gear just in case.
Really enjoyed this small-group tour with VIP-style service. I was excited to see the penguins, and would recommend upgrading to Penguin Plus for a closer, more special view of these adorable little creatures.

Trip was really good , but disappointed with view with penguin plus seats . They weren’t facing the ocean which was the point of going . But on the upside when they came off the beach we had a more closeup view .

We did the Penguin Parade and Koalas tour with Jacob, hands down the best guide I've had in Australia -- informative, efficient and entertaining. The under-9-hour length was ideal, and we got up close to both koalas and penguins respectfully. Shame some visitors kept filming the penguins despite the rule, but staff did their best to stop it.

Ethan had great tips on where to sit in stands. Perfect weather and awesome stars. Ethan was able to find wallabies and joeys along with koalas. Since it was Good Friday the tour company should have moved the pickup times earlier. Traffic was a crawl so arrived late to earlier stops. The dropped star for company.

It was windy and cold and the penguins didn't show until 8:15 our departure time was supposed to be 8:30. We were the last two to get back at 8:45 and he completely understood.

Great time on the Phillip Island tour - well organised, and the guide handled an unexpected, messy guest emergency calmly and professionally. Worth bringing snacks in case there's no time to grab food at the koala or penguin stops, and be aware bathroom access can be limited on the way over if you're picked up first. You'll get back to Melbourne a few hours after sunset, once the adorable penguins have returned to their nests.

Excellent tour from Melbourne to Phillip Island, made memorable thanks to Jacob. We visited the Koala Reserve, stopped for food in Cowes, then continued to the Nobbies and the parade. So much wildlife on show - the echidna was my highlight alongside the penguins, plus a possum, a bandicoot and plenty of wallabies and geese.

A brilliant day exploring Phillip Island with Vicky. After three years here and plenty of tours, she still managed to teach me new things about the island, its wildlife and Australia in general. The best tour I've had in Melbourne. Went to Phillip Island with guide Craig and his little assistant Barry the Platypus - great fun exploring the Koala Conservation Centre, where half the koalas were awake, plus a lucky echidna sighting. At the Nobbies we spotted a fur seal, and the Penguin Parade was the main event with the little ones crossing the beach. Honestly the best tour I've done.

Then we drove to Cowes to eat dinner on our own. The highlight was a trip to Phillips Island to watch the little penguins waddle in from the ocean tonight feed their chicks. Vicky shared information with us about what to expect and did a super job getting us back to our hotels. It was a fun day!
We visited the koala park and the Little Penguin Parade on the Phillip Island tour and loved it. The meeting point was easy to find, and our guide Fiona was friendly, knowledgeable and a careful driver. I booked this tour for my family and I and we had James as our guide for the trip. Overall we had an amazing time. He was fun and informative throughout the tour and he was helpful with suggestions. It was quite cold at night during the penguin viewing so packing a jacket will make the experience more enjoyable. James was also kind enough to drop each of the tour go-ers off as close to where they were staying as the tour ends quite late (around 10pm and takes 2 hours to get back into the city).

James was a funny, fantastic guide with great taste in music, who pointed us to the best spots for the penguin parade and even sang for the group — something we hadn't seen on a tour before. After our twelve-hour day he even tried to drop us close to our hotel. James earns five stars, but Autopia loses one: the bus was clearly overdue for maintenance, with a loud, obnoxious AC compressor and a jerky second and third gear that's noticeable on a trip this long.
A really lovely day — I chose the Phillip Island tour and we saw plenty of animals: koalas, wallabies, various birds and of course the famous penguins, along with beautiful scenery, all at an unhurried pace. Our guide was very friendly and gave lots of explanations, and the Australian music on the bus added a nice extra touch.

Best experience — we saw all the animals we'd hoped for and more. Fiona's enthusiasm and love for the country really came through. We were lucky with the weather, and I'd suggest visiting in mid-February when the penguin chicks aren't fully grown.

Amazing tour with Fiona, who had all the best tips and information to help us get the most out of the day. The views of the penguins and other wildlife on Phillip Island were unbelievable.
I did this as an optional activity through G Adventures and would highly recommend it. On the way there were a few stops and a fun game of spotting penguins in their burrows, with stunning sea views. We also saw echidnas and wallabies, which Fiona pointed out along the way, and she was great at guiding us to the best spots for the penguin parade itself.

The koala conservation park is lovely and offers much more than just koalas, and we came away with a real understanding of the conservation work and landscape on Phillip Island and the peninsula. The little blue penguins stole the show, and Fiona's tips made it an unforgettable experience.

Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the penguins as they were difficult to spot due to the distance.

Chris (Kiwi) was fabulous! Had so much interesting information about the history of Melbourne, animals of the region, etc. during the ride from Melbourne to Phillip Island. He was also very considerate about how late this excursion returns and making sure we all got back safely to where we were staying. The penguins were so fun to watch, especially the babies trying to get food from whomever they could, even if it wasn't their parent. Although the day started off warm, I highly recommend bringing warm clothing as the temperature gets quite cool in the evening. Bring long pants, long sleeve top, and maybe even a puffer jacket. fabulous activity. I highly recommended it!

She had great tips for everything — grabbing donuts at the first stop, the best spots to view koalas at the reserve, where to eat in Cowes, and where to catch the best view of the penguin parade. If you love nature, this is the tour for you! Fiona was an excellent tour guide! She has so much knowledge and enthusiasm for the flora and fauna of Phillip’s Island. The day went by so quickly because she made everything so interesting! Dress in layers as it gets chilly when the sun goes down and it is always cooler and windy by the water.

The Phillip Island tour was an incredible experience. Our guide Fiona was attentive and knowledgeable about every site, and we were lucky to see the koalas before heading to the penguins. He also gave great tips for where to sit and how best to experience the Penguin Parade. The tour began at 1.45pm and we returned to Melbourne around midnight. Would highly recommend the tour!

Loved everything about the Phillip Island tour - our guide Graham was friendly, informative and professional all day, with a great taste in music, especially the Aussie tracks. Timing felt spot on, and we saw an amazing range of animals including koalas, an echidna, Cape Barren geese, wallabies, dolphins and even a red-bellied black snake. We upgraded to Penguin Plus and it was well worth it - watching hundreds of penguins waddle up the beach and along the boardwalk, with chicks being fed close-up from the observatory, was unforgettable.
What an amazing last-minute trip to Phillip Island. We visited the koala sanctuary and then, as the evening's highlight, the Penguin Parade. James and Fiona were fabulous, guiding us to the best spots to watch the first rafts of penguins land away from the crowds, then helping us secure great viewing spots up close. Well worth the price - thanks for the entertainment along the way, James.

We joined the Penguin Parade tour from Melbourne with Fiona and it was wonderful. She was warm, knowledgeable and great with our kids, and we saw plenty of wildlife beyond just the hundreds of penguins - the whole family loved every minute.

It was a very fun experience watching the penguins coming in from the water. It was even more fun to watch them continue up the path to their homes. The bus was comfortable (not very large which was great) and the tour guide, Craig, was very nice and informative.

This tour, and especially our guide Vicky, were amazing. My flight to Tasmania had been cancelled two days earlier, but booking this tour turned out to be a blessing in disguise - koalas, a stunning coastline, penguins and countless other animals and birds along the way. Phillip Island was a real highlight of my Melbourne trip. I expected koalas and little penguins, which would already have been amazing, but we saw so much more - crested terns with chicks, cape barren geese, swamp wallabies and penguin chicks in their burrows. I did the Phillip Island koala conservation and penguin parade tour and had an amazing time - it felt like a private VIP group with Fiona guiding us. We were lucky enough to see a baby koala up close plus an echidna, something I'd always wanted to see. Fiona's enthusiasm and knowledge put me completely at ease, from the best cheap eats to the tricks for seeing penguins up close without the crowds. A really worthwhile tour.

Even in December you need warm clothes and a hat for the penguin parade. Fiona had a solid plan for making the most of it, so we didn't feel we needed the premium package. Overall, well worth doing.

Fiona took us on an animal-sightseeing adventure I’ll never soon forget. Che is truly sunshine in human form and a wealth of knowledge.
The koala habitat was absolutely surprising. We were less than a meter away, witnessing the cuddly, little koalas nuzzle down in their naps, snack on eucalyptus and even climb about looking for their new perch.
As we drive across the islands to dinner and the parade, Fiona’s sharp eyes helped us located Wallabies all emerging for dinner, as the bounded across the grasslands.
Fiona’s true knowledge showed at the parade of penguins though, where she led us away from the crowds and into witnessing the waddling colony in their more intimate environments. It’s was like Fiona just knew where their dens were and we were able to see their wobbles and stretches in blue, before the changing of the guards.

We had more time than many other groups, and the best views come after the penguins leave the water and make their way home along the boardwalks, where we had lots of time. What a fantastic day we have had. Really memorable day and evening topped off with the penguin parade. The conservation centre provided an opportunity to see koalas (sleeping), a wallaby with a Joey in her pouch and then over 2000 penguins coming home for the night. Despite overcast, rainy weather, we had a great day exploring Phillip Island. The Koala Reserve at the Nature Park let us watch more than five koalas along with wallabies and native birds. The Nobbies Rocks boardwalks gave beautiful coastal views under moody skies, and our driver Steve took us along the coast where we spotted two blue penguins up close by the road. Storms meant we missed the sunset Penguin Parade, which rarely happens, but we'd still strongly recommend this day trip.

The penguin parade was the highlight of the day and we were able to see the blue penguins in their burrows and see the returning penguins coming out of the sea and then waddling up the pathway . Such fun and the sounds of the penguins calling to each other to guide them back together was amazing.
Fiona our tour guide was excellent, very informative and friendly, giving so much great information and tips, both on the different parts of the tour and tips on where to go and things to do in Melbourne.

Our Phillip Island day tour with the Penguin Parade was incredible thanks to Fiona, who answered every question knowledgeably and was always approachable. We saw huge numbers of wallabies, geese, fur seals and penguins right up close - an unbeatable way to spend a birthday. We'd love to go again, ideally with Fiona guiding once more.
This tour had a relaxed pace with plenty of time at every stop. Fiona gave us great tips to make the most of the Penguin Parade, and we saw lots of adorable wildlife, including plenty of wallabies.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Fiona was the best guide, highly recommend to anyone. Would do it again no doubt. Fiona gave so many tips to make the tour extra special, as well as local recommendations for dinner which were amazing. She gave advice at the penguin parade to maximize the viewing of the penguins which was golden advice. She even made the effort to go on back roads that other buses avoided which allowed us to see more of the wildlife up close. We did the Penguin Parade tour, about a two-hour drive there, but Fiona kept us entertained the whole way. She gave great advice on spotting the penguins, and we saw koalas as she walked the park pointing out wildlife. Highly recommend this trip with Fiona.

Fiona provided a fantastic tour of Phillip Island aboard a spanking new supremely comfortable tour bus with both safety and fun at the top of her mind, followed by very informative and interesting description of the culture and history of the region, including the natural history of flora and fauna among the islands, while expertly spotting many wallabies, the resplendent Cape Baron Goose tending to little ones, while winding along a stunningly beautiful rocky and severe coastline with smashing waves, not to mention the Koala Centre, the noisy sulfur crested cockatoo and calls of the kookaburra, and really an amazing exhibition and once in lifetime view of the parade of hundreds of penguins young and old, absolutely endearing, topping off a perfect day in Australia.
Fiona did an amazing job as our guide for the day, pointing us to some brilliant spots to see the little penguins. Couldn't have asked for a better guide - thank you Fiona.

Joe was a fantastic guide - funny, informative and quick to point out interesting things along the way. We started at the koala sanctuary and saw koalas, wallabies, curlews and an echidna, then moved to the Nobbies for penguins, geese and nesting seagulls. The Penguin Parade at the end was delightful, watching chicks wait for their parents and little penguins emerge from the sea. Pack your own food, as the restaurant line was long and it's the only food option once on the bus.

Joe’s Bus is the best! Sis treated me to the Phillip’s Island tour for my birthday, and it was sweet! We saw koalas, wallabys, and so many brave little penguins emerging from the sea after sunset to reunite with their babies in their burrows. Lnew exactly where to go on the platform for the best views because Joe told us the best viewing spots! Super special experience, and one that I will remember! Joe is the best - good disposition, tons of knowledge downloaded to us over a few hours with just right humor, and he even charged up my iPhone between stops to make sure I had enough juice to record this fabulous day!

Had a great day seeing the koalas, the views and the penguins! (And also echidnas&wallabies) Fiona was our tour guide. Very lovely, knowledgeable and made everything flow together perfectly. The penguin parade was amazing and is a must see so cute seeing them waddle from the ocean up to their burrows. Just make sure you bring layers as I chose not too and being cold was the only unpleasant part. Thank you

Absolutely loved this tour. Fiona had great energy and was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about conservation, and had great recommendations about food, viewing sights, how to best see the penguins, and other things to do in Melbourne. Her passion for Australia and its roots is exuded in the way she talks. This was one of the least expensive Phillips Island tours, but I wouldn’t change anything about the day and am so glad I didn’t spend more because this tour was perfect as is.
I booked this tour with my mum and Fiona was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about nature, a lovely person to spend the day with. Her warmth and smile made the experience feel really special. Seeing the penguins, the ocean, and the stars at night on the Penguin Parade beach was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Highly recommend this island tour with her.
“Phillip Island Koalas and Penguins!”
It was a great trip, we saw a lot and the pace was about right, would of liked a little more time at the Koala sanctuary (we had 55 minutes) as we would of walked around more of it and read the information boards but understood the need to keep on time to ensure we arrived timely for the Penguin Parade which was the highlight of the trip. Definitely glad we upgraded to Premium entry as was well worth it for the closer view of the penguins coming ashore.
Our driver Joe was great and kept us informed on what was happening throughout the trip with regard to timings and info. Fab trip, highly recommended.

The whole day was amazing! Fiona is super enthusiastic and informative and made sure to give everyone as much time as they needed to enjoy the experience — as well as share some helpful tips to get the most out of the day! And the bus has free WiFi! While trip lasted about 10 hours from start to finish and there are four key drop off points back in Melbourne for wherever you need to get back to that night. 10/10 would recommend for all anima lovers looking to see and learn more about Australian wildlife!

Fiona isn't your typical tour guide — she's more like a walking wildlife documentary, with the same passion for nature and animals as Steve Irwin. She's among the best guides I've ever had: upbeat, deeply knowledgeable, and she took us to quieter spots away from the crowds, pointing out koalas and even lending a hand with photos. If I'm ever back on Phillip Island, she's who I'd want guiding me again.

Fiona is a great tour guide, she explained the trips meticulously. The trip was awesome and so much fun to watch the penguins slowly came up to the shore together in a cohort. The koalas are so cute and interesting to know they slept almost 20 hours per day.

This is the tour to book if you want to see the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island. Our guide Fiona was very knowledgeable and kept things interesting throughout the trip. Just a heads up — photography during the parade after sunset isn't allowed, so follow the rules and enjoy it as it comes.

Kiwi guided our trip to Phillip Island, taking in the Koala Conservation Centre, the Nobbies and the Penguin Parade. It was a pleasant day with good commentary and reasonable start and finish times. My tip: bring some food, as the lunch stop is only 20 minutes and nothing's available again until after 9pm. Photos of the penguins aren't allowed either.

He was friendly, professional and full of useful information about the koalas, seals and penguins, and pointed us to great spots for photos and penguin-watching. He also shared plenty of interesting Australian history along the way.

Can feel his passion in doing his job with all his heart. The trip included a few stops (Summerland - Island Ward, Summerlands Beach) to take beautiful scenery along the journey. We enjoyed the trip very much!

Seeing the koalas in the Conservation Centre up so close was a real highlight. I also really enjoyed the penguin parade with the adorable little blue penguins at night. Fiona gave us a really interesting insight into the nature and conservation projects going on at each site we visited in Phillip Island. Autopia was a pleasure to book through for a day trip to Phillip Island to watch the little penguins come home to their burrows — communication was always prompt and helpful. The itinerary was well-planned and we had enough time at each of the places. We got to see the sleeping koalas up close, and also the penguins. I booked my trip last minute and can say, I'm so glad I did. I called in advance and asked if there were any spots available. I lucked out and was informed one spot was available. The day trip took us first into the Koala conservation, and was delighted to see koalas, walabee, and exotic birds so close (the key is to be as still and quite). The penguin parade was absolutely spectacular. Not only did I get to see this creatures up close, but our evening matched up with great weather. Shout out to Fiona who was our knowledgeable guide for the day! Friendly and patient with the group.

We had a nice trip to Phillip Island to see the Koalas and Little Penguins. Our tour guide, Fiona, was one of the best parts of the day. She did a great job of managing expectations, sharing all the insider tips, and making sure each person had the best possible experience. I learned so much about Aussie eco topics, and appreciated Fiona’s obvious passion for conservation. The penguins were the most precious little things, and we stayed late to see and hear the colony settling into their burrows for the night. 10/10 will do it again if I ever come back to Australia.

Fiona was very kind and explained everything as we went, from where to find the koalas to where to eat. After a two-hour drive we walked among the koalas - we even spotted a baby at just the right moment - stopped for lunch, then watched the penguins come ashore at dusk. Photos aren't allowed so as not to disturb them, but they look perfect. Quite an experience, highly recommended.

Fiona is a wonderful guide, pleasant and cheerful. Her suggestions to stay on the general admissions walking around to observe the penguins is indeed good. We had seen quite a number of the little fellows around the bushes.

It was amazing, just hope we had more time during lunch break to explore Philip Island (which could mean earlier departure). Fiona was amazing, she gave us tips on where to sit to watch the penguins and where's the wind direction.
We get to see hundreds of penguin, don't sit by the beach for long. Walk around and you can see them walking. We saw Koalas too although they were sleeping. Please wear comfortable warm clothing if you go during winter and waterproof jackets/raincoats - in case it rains.
For Muslims, there's halal kebab option if your tour stop at Cowes town. We arrived at Melbourne CBD at about 830pm.
Please dont take photos after sunset guys and follow the rules, it's for the penguin's safety else you mjght hurt their eyes.

This day trip was even better than I had hoped. Our guide, Craig (and stuffed platypus Barry, who made it really easy to identify the correct bus) was amazing. Craig was very responsive to the group, unfailingly pleasant and shared just the right amount of information about what we were going to see. I appreciated that we had time to wander on our own at each location. It was amazing seeing koalas up close at the Koala Reserve and Craig made sure we knew to look out for wallabies as well. The Nobbies was a beautiful spot and we spotted several young penguins in their burrows as well as enjoying the stunning views from the boardwalk. The highlight, of course, was the Penguin Parade, and the experience was even better than anticipated. Watching the penguins come out of the ocean was truly magical and observing them even closer from the boardwalks as they made their way up the “penguin highway” or lingered outside their burrows was incredible. I found the bus seats a little uncomfortable but this did not diminish the fantastic trip that this was.

Excellent Tours, Phillips Island Penguin Parade, and koala sightings were amazing! The only downside was ignorant tourists flashing their photos at the penguins after being repeatedly told no photos because it scares and blinds the small birds at night.

We enjoyed everything about our day as was provided by the tour company and our driver, Ilkay! As others have mentioned, the only thing that detracted from the special, extraordinary experience, was other people not following rules, standing in front of others, pushing for seating, and taking photos of the penguins when repeatedly scolded. Sad that we are there to help the endangered wildlife and some people are more concerned with their instagram. Otherwise- certainly worth the extra $$ for the penguin Plus seats; others in our tour said they couldn’t see nearly as much in general seating. Highly recommend this tour from Melbourne!

Great day trip. Got to see Koalas and their Joeys in a conservatory as well as some interesting birds and Wallabies. Penguin parade lives up to the hype as the little ones return from the Ocean to their nests. Wish premium seating upgrade was available and should have spent less time in the stands and more time watching them by the boardwalks and at their nests. Not allowed to take photos and videos of the parades though many ignored the rule :-(

“Most awesome tour for penguins and koalas”
We took the Phillip Island Penguin and Koala Highlights tour today with our driver/guide Daniel. He was both knowledgeable and entertaining while bringing his passion for the tour and the creatures and lands he talked about in a captivating manner. He took care of guests like each was on a private tour! We felt included, respected, and completely satisfied with our experience. For a long day, it went by too quickly!

Great tour done professionally by our guide Daniel. We had a great time at Phillip island. The penguins were cute, thanks!
“Phillip Island and the fairy penguins.”
JB, our very able guide, took us on a wonderful journey to the Maru animal sanctuary. We fed the Roos, and emus, saw the tassi devils among other Aussie critters.
We then drove to Phillip Island finding the fairy penguin burrows in the hillsides. The fairy chicks were coming out of their homes looking for their dinner and parents. As darkness arrived, the parents began their daily walk from the sea to feed the chicks. Hundreds of them marched by the platform as we watched in awe. JB told us exactly where to stand to get the best view of the penguins. So tiny. We were within two feet of them!
For all to remember, there is NO LIVE PHOTOGRAPHY THERE!!!
A flash from a camera will blind the penguins making them unable to search for food at sea, hide from predators above ground or at sea.
JB did a great job getting us back to our hotels on such a late nite.
You will be treated to a wonderful day visiting Phillip Island with JB as your terrific guide.

Wonderful experience for me and my 6 years old son! Daniel was an excellent guide with excellent advices. The Penguin Parade is stunning. A little non required advice to Autopia: let the bus glasses transparents, for a perfect sightseeing of Australian lands!
