- All meals are cooked fresh on board — morning and afternoon tea, lunch, sunset snacks and a barbecue dinner with dessert on day 1, then breakfast and a barbecue lunch on day 2. Gluten free and lactose free carry a surcharge, and vegan diets cannot be catered for.

“Wonderful, relaxing trip on the Whitsundays”
Daniel and Georgia did everything between them — skippering, guiding and cooking — and they were great company. Summertime is a lovely old schooner that only takes small groups, so if you want kayaking and snorkelling at an easy pace rather than a party, this is the one. There was a good mix of ages and nationalities on board. Well worth it for a relaxed couple of days round the islands.

We had a great two days on Summertime, a handmade wooden ship from 1945 rather than one of the soulless plastic boats. We snorkelled, took in the scenery, hiked, kayaked and had some wild rides over the waves. Arielle, Andy and Antonia made us welcome and we wanted for nothing; the food was freshly made and delicious, drinks are provided and you can bring your own. The open playlist everyone could add to was good fun — recommended.

Brad, the skipper and owner, along with Oliver and Kyle, were fantastic throughout, and there was no chance of going hungry or thirsty — the food was delicious. We had some rain one day, but nobody can do anything about that. Whitehaven was beautiful and full of little rays, and we had plenty of time there; the next day we kayaked and snorkelled and saw fish, rays and turtles. If you're doing an overnight trip, make it this family run one.

A great trip on Summertime, with Damion and Kylie looking after us well. Sailing round that water was breathtaking and I loved getting up early for the sunrise. We anchored overnight in a quiet spot and watched the sunset over a few drinks with the new friends we'd made on board. In the morning we reached Whitehaven Beach early and had it almost to ourselves, leaving around midday as everyone else arrived, then went back for lunch, kayaking and snorkelling.

Not what I was expecting, in the best way. Damian and Kyle were excellent hosts, explaining the sailing, the spots we visited and the wildlife, and making it all interesting. The weather was perfect so there wasn't much sailing, but it meant we could stay on deck the whole time, and they kept the food coming. The snorkelling and Whitehaven Beach were great, spotting fish at night was surprisingly good, and the old ketch was comfy with a hot tub as a bonus.

I enjoyed the Summertime day sail so much I booked a second trip, so I've now done both the Whitehaven and the kayaking day sails. Both were good days out, with the kayak trip the more relaxed of the two as it skips the extra hour over to Whitsunday Island. The crew were fun and attentive, explained everything with good humour and let us go at our own pace rather than herding us about. Lunch and the snorkelling gear were both excellent, and it's a lovely timber boat with plenty of comfortable places to sit.

In two days I saw dolphins, lemon sharks, stingrays, turtles, a giant clam and a whole army of crabs, mostly by sticking close to Josh, who pointed out every last creature. The group size suited me as a shy solo traveller and the crew pulled me into everything, including putting the sail up. Johnny and Josh both made sure I got good photos, and Dan explained the wildlife, how the silica sand forms and the history of the islands. The food was excellent, with a proper barbecue and a good breakfast, and at night the crew picked out constellations and fish in the water.

It was perfect. The crew were friendly and easy going, and being vegetarian was no problem — the food was very good, and as a backpacker you're grateful for proper home cooked meals. I loved the kayak tour, where I saw my first turtle, and the people on board were good company; we watched the sunset together over a few beers and some wine. I got up early for the sunrise, which was worth it, and Whitehaven Beach was unbelievably beautiful, a kind of magic place.

Our guide Josh was the best we have had on any tour, funny and enthusiastic and always ready to help, and captain Derek was cheerful and up for a chat. There was a photo presentation at the end of the first day, the meals were tasty and there was plenty to do. It costs a bit more than some of the other trips but it was worth it.

We visited the beautiful White Heaven beach, snorkeled and saw amazing coral, much more beautiful as I saw during my scuba diving experience in Cairns. And we did sea kayaking. The turtles and stingrays were so close we could almost touch them!
I wish I could stay forever on Summertime in this perfect setting and perfect weather. Even now, a year later every time I throw back to those good memories it makes me smile. Those were the best days of my life!

Just got back from this amazing 2 day one night tour of the Whitsundays. We had a mixed group of families, couples and friends and all of different ages and everyone got along really well and had a fantastic time. Both me and my friend get seasick sometimes so I was initially a bit worried about spending 2 days at sea but we were both absolutely fine. The boat was really comfortable, had plenty of space and to my surprise the beds were really comfy too! Everything about this trip was spot on. The crew were brilliant and full of knowledge, were helpful, friendly and pretty hilarious too! Food was lovely and plenty of it. The stop offs and scenery were out of this world. We got to swim with lots of turtles and stingrays, experience some of the prettiest beaches and corals reefs etc. Cannot recommend these guys enough!

One of the best trips I have ever done. The crew is fantastic, they took us to the best spots according to the weather and tide. I know we were lucky in many ways, including the weather and water visibility, but I've done some of the most amazing snorkeling in my life on this trip. Saw dolphins, turtles mating (!), stingrays and so many fish varieties. Loved the boat as well, i slept on the top deck underneath the stars and waking up to a very serene and gorgeous sunrise. A hot tub on deck during sunset and good food only added to the experience. Thanks guys!

Me, my girlfriend and parents did the 2days/1 night tour aboard Summertime and it was one of my favourite trips along the east coast. Not only were all the beaches and lookout spots amazing but the boat and crew (Jesse and Nacho) were ace too. We did kayaking and snorkelling and they knew all the best spots to take us, saw plenty of wildlife when in the water and from the boat too. Couldn't reccomend this trip enough!

The trip is really charming, I would recommend to all my friends do it.
Just to start we could see a whale in the way to Whitsundays, when we arrive, the guide bring us to a lookout so nice and the beaches were unbelievable. We had a little rest there and then we move to do a little bit of snorkel in the afternoon where the coral was so colorful. Maybe I would like to spend more time in snorkel and a little bit less in the white beach but that's just a little personal preference.
Then we move to another place to be in the night and we saw the sunset in the jacuzzi, so cool. Also, the sky was speechless in the night, without any lights close. All that stars... So beautiful.
And then, we went to snorkel and kayak in the next morning and we saw giant turtles and lots of fishes. Again, so great.
The food and all the snacks are good, so tasty! And it's good to have ready coffee and tea each time that we were doing activities in the sea.
Jessi made great his job, and he was pointing us all the time animals in the sea and making jokes to entertain us. So nice! And he made us a game in the night.
Nacho, the guide, was so kind with us too.
The only thing I would improve is in the second day. We were stuck in the boat while they were getting ready and cleaning everything for like 1-2 hours and I think it would be good idea let us doing snorkel in that time or has something ready like games...
But without doubts, I would love to do it again if I come back to Australia.

We had the best two days on board of the beautiful Summertime. The crew Damien and Dan were really fun and made our experience amazing with their jokes and knowledge of the area. It’s not a party boat, just a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We spend about 3 hours on Whitehaven Beach, which was just stunning and the next day we went kayaking and snorkelling where we saw beautiful corals and heaps of marine life, such has manta rays, turtles and lots of tropical fish. We were also lucky to spot a few whales!

We had the most amazing time on Summertime. The scenery speaks for itself out there but the crew we had were second to none. The tunes were pumping and the food was delicious and plentiful. We even had the pleasure of seeing a whale breach on our way back in which the captain stopped the boat for us to ooh and awe over. After your dip in the sea they have a Jacuzzi heated to 41 degrees for you to relax in overlooking the breath taking scenery. Could not recommend Summertime more for a relaxing and very enjoyable trip to the whitsundays.

Can’t recommend these guys enough. My cousins, their teenaged kids and I went on a weekend trip end-June 2019 and the trip itself is stunning: aquamarine seas, we saw dugong, stingray and hawksbill turtle, and my cousins who are more accustomed to the sea enjoyed the reef life more here than elsewhere around Cairns where we visited a few days later. It was the first time I saw the Milky Way and the Southern Cross! It’s 18 people on a boat so things may go awry, but the fantastic crew - the Double Ds, Damien and Daniel - made sure we had a terrific time with their fab food, fun playlist and warm camaraderie. One of the best weekends ever and I must say Whitehaven Beach sets the bar really high.

We had a wonderful weekend on the Summertime. The crew (Ed and Damian) did everything possible to make us feel comfortable on board. The activities (snorkelling, Kayaking and visiting White Heaven Beach where unforgettable). We booked a private cabin in the front of the ship which was perfect. We (older couple) were privileged to meet the other mostly much younger passengers from different countries en enjoyed their company, stories, dreams and music. Together we share valuable memories. And last but not least, the after party at ‘Beaches’ in Airlie was awesome! Thanks guys you where great!

Nice old timber boat. Amazing crew. They really tried everything possible to give us the best experience! The views of the Whitsundays are breathtaking and worth everything you paid for. The food they served was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I had to sleep under the air-conditioning and I got sick afterwards.

A great couple of days in the Whitsunday Islands with the Summertime crew, sailing between the islands, snorkelling and having fun with the other travellers. Dan and Jack were our captain and sailor and they made the sail thoroughly enjoyable.
“Sailing close to nature”
My Sister and I had a great trip on Summertime. Daniel and Damien really looked after us, made sure we were safe and had fun. The activities were great too. Beach trip on Day 1 and the snorkeling and kayaking on day 2 were a great way to get closer to nature.
Our highlight was seeing dolphins fish off the front of the boat in the evening.

It was only a one night cruise but the two man team were so efficient that you felt like you were there for longer and fitted in so much! Just came back from a 2D/1N with the Summertime sailing company and can’t be thankful enough how the crew on board made my experience just great.
THE BEST:
Right off the bat, upon embarcation, the crew (Captain Ed and the sailor Damian) made clear the security of everyone is their top priority.
With wit, the explained us how the trip is going to be and what to expect and made themselves available, had anyone needed anything at anytime.
Cool playlist playing all along the 2 days. At night, the crew (after finishing what they had to do) joined us for chat and jokes and we just felt as if we knew each other since awhile.
The food, was great and the quantity was more than enough for everyone (look for that MASHED POTATOES at dinner... they’re just )
Plenty of space in the boat for the 19 guests we were. The summertime sail boat might be 70 yo but I rather have plenty of space than having to stand up or not having a shelter to hide from rain (yes it did rain in those two days).
Despite the rain, the Whitehaven Beach was just gorgeous!
The one thing I’d say that was effected by tte rain was the snorkeling experience, but hey, that is just out of any one’s control.
THE WORST:
Just before getting back to the shore, Ed stopped the boat and invited us to jump in that clear green fresh Pacific Ocean water for a swim. After everyone was done, he announced us that Summertime is offering a 20% off any we order at a local bar (forgot the name️️) and that themselves (Ed and Damian) will join us at 7pm.
As if it was not enough, he said that the owner/manager, will also join to thank us for having chosen Summertime to visit Whitsundays islands!!! I mean what else could be done!
Ps: I know, you by now are wondering, how’s this part bad or the worst
... I could not join as I have spent 4 days in Airlie beach and had to get to Noosa (a 1000kms south) the day after.
“Excellent Adventure and Experience”
I did this 2 day 1 night sailing trip on Summertime while staying in Airlie and have to say it was definitely a memorable experience and one where I made life long friends.
The crew Dan and Deb were excellent and made you feel very welcome and at ease and our group had a lot of fun.
I am not a confident swimmer but the crew really made sure I was looked after and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkelling and Kayaking the most!
You get to go to Whitehaven beach which is stunning and also visit the lookout which is great for photo opportunities.
The food is excellent and you also get snacks and tea and coffee.
At night you get the opportunity to use the Jacuzzi on the top deck which is lovely especially under the stars and the beds are comfortable with air con down below.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is spending time in Airlie and wants a great sight seeing sailing trip.

We looked at a lot of similar boats and chose Summertime, and we were lucky with the weather too. Ed and Claire were our captain and hostess on the two-day, one-night trip and were brilliant, accommodating and funny and easy to be around. Whitehaven Beach was amazing and the snorkelling spot even better, with plenty to see, and the get-together after you leave the boat is worth staying for.

I had a time of my life on summertime. Crew was amazing, food was delicious. Kayaking and snorkeling in second day and Whitehaven beach on first day. And Jacuzzi. No minuses. Everything was perfect.
“A trip to remember”
We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. A group of three, we opted for the 1 night 2 day trip which included a stop to Whitsunday Island (Whitehaven beach), snorkelling and kayaking. The crew were excellent. Made us all feel at home, remained professional but were also very approachable and sociable. The staff really made the experience for us and Ed and Kati were both amazing. We never felt hungry, the food was really good quality and freshly prepared and we were all big fans of the BBQ. The vegetarian options were also really tasty and not just the lettuce and salad that many places provide.
Highlights of the trip - the stars at night were phenomenal, we saw some stingrays kayaking and also a turtle. On the way back to the marina we were incredibly lucky to see several whales and dolphins!
We made some great friends and some memories we will treasure for a long time! Thanks again to Ed and Kati, you guys rock!
“A Trip To Paradise”
Having paid a travel agent to pick a boat i wasn't sure what to expect but Summertime did not disappoint! Should you choose this you will not be disappointed. Everything from the sleeping areas to the food & activities are amazing not to mention the opportunity to see turtles, stingrays & dolphins. Brad (skippy) & Becky were amazing! The food on board was actually better than i'd eat at home. Totally recommend this wonderful experience
“Calm and relaxing”
Summertime is a beautiful old ketch refurbished to take up to 18 passengers, and we were lucky to have only 11 aboard, all Europeans from different countries, which made for good company. We went sea kayaking, swam at Whitehaven Beach and snorkelled, and sleeping in the beds below deck was wonderful in the calm bay where we anchored. Ed was a friendly, approachable skipper and Kati was a knowledgeable and attentive guide and cook.

I did the two-day, one-night cruise on Summertime and it was great. Day one was Whitehaven Beach, and on day two we kayaked and snorkelled, spotting stingrays and a sea turtle from the kayaks. Tero and Edward looked after us well and clearly knew their jobs. Do yourself a favour and go.

A relaxed sail around the Whitsunday Islands. Tero cooked very good food, the scenery and atmosphere were great and even the sleeping area was cosy. We saw whales, dolphins and turtles, though none of that is guaranteed. I'd recommend Summertime.

Such an amazing time on Summertime. A cruisey 3 hours heading out to Whitehaven Beach which was absolutely incredible - picture perfect! Plenty of time spent taking pics and relaxing before heading back onto the boat for an incredible sunset sail. Snorkel spot on day two was beautiful, just a shame the visibility wasn't too great due to the high tide, but nothing we could do about that!
Food was great, team super friendly and everything so well organised. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I sailed with Cris and Cat, our captain and guide, and they were caring and good fun, full of stories and facts about the area. We had a couple of days of swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. The boat is cosy and the food Cat made for us was delicious.

We booked two days and one night on Summertime and couldn't have chosen better. The boat and crew were friendly and fun and worked hard the whole time, the food was very good, and our captain knew exactly where to take us and where to stay. Whitehaven Beach is hard to put into words, and the kayaking, snorkelling and hot tub were all a bonus. Professional and fun at the same time.

Just off Summertime after a great trip. Chris and his first mate Daniel were excellent guides around the Whitsundays, full of information and keen for us to make the most of our time. Daniel was a brilliant host, looking after allergies and making sure nobody went hungry. Kayaking and snorkelling were good fun, but my highlight was watching dolphins hunting around the boat at night, with the hot tub afterwards a bonus.

My wife, our two girls aged 13 and 11 and I had a wonderful time. Brad, Dan and Amelia were a fantastic crew and took us to the most beautiful spots in the Whitsundays. We dived, snorkelled, kayaked and sailed, and Whitehaven Beach was something else. The food was good throughout and I'd strongly recommend it.

Just back from a great sail on Summertime. She's small, with good facilities and only ten guests on our trip, which made it feel personal, and the crew and the food were both great. The weather was kind, so Whitehaven Beach and the other stops looked stunning, and we saw several turtles, some small sharks and dolphins swimming around the boat on the first night. Good for couples and small groups who want to get away from the backpacker crowd in Airlie Beach, less so for solo travellers.

Big thanks to Brad, Daniel and Amelia, who made our three days on Summertime one of the best parts of our trip. The crew were friendly and knew the area well, and the boat is comfortable. We had a bit of rain, but the diving, kayaking and the visit to Whitehaven Beach more than made up for it, and the other guests were great company.

I did the three-day trip on Summertime. The wind wasn't playing so we motored, which suited me fine, the group on board was lovely and the two staff were experienced and kept everyone safe. The food was fairly average and the snorkelling was less colourful than my research had led me to hope, and we came back into port an hour early, which should at least have been discussed. The hot tub and the kayaks were a great bonus, and overall it was a relaxing and beautiful way to start my holiday.

We did the three-day, two-night tour on Summertime and had a good time. The boat is cosy with a real vintage feel, and there's a hot tub at the back that fits three, which is welcome when you get out of the water. Between Whitehaven, snorkelling, diving and kayaking there was plenty to do, and while the coral is still recovering from the cyclone the island scenery is spectacular. With only about fifteen on board the crew created a very enjoyable atmosphere and we had a laugh.
“Wintertime aboard Summertime!”
My husband and I were welcomed aboard by Jessie, Amanda and Lucas, along with a dozen or so other passengers of different ages and nationalities, so it was a sociable group. We sailed to Tongue Bay and walked to Hill Inlet at Whitehaven Beach, posed about on the big driftwood tree and swam in clear water with stingrays around, and Amanda took loads of photos. Over the three days we snorkelled, scuba dived and swam off the boat, played rope puzzles and charades in the evenings, and finished with a guided kayak tour and race with Lucas, seeing turtles and more stingrays. Visibility was poor after the cyclone but there were still plenty of fish and some lovely coral, Amanda cooked fantastic food in a broom-cupboard galley, and Jessie found the best spots for the tide and weather.
“Sailing on Summertime”
My wife and I have just spent three days sailing the Whitsundays on Summertime. She's an old lady of a boat but has everything you need, and skipper Brad kept us safe and picked the best locations while Daniel and Amanda ran the snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking and island visits. The food was all cooked on board and was excellent, and drink is bring your own, with a sensible mix of guests. We sailed a few weeks after the cyclone so the water clarity was poor, but the crew worked hard to find good sites and we weren't disappointed.

My wife and I sailed the Whitsundays on Summertime with a few friends and it lived up to everything we'd heard. Captain Harry, first mate Daniel and Suet kept it fun and professional at the same time. I scuba dived for the first time and Daniel was very good with us beginners, and Harry's experience showed in knowing where to head as the weather shifted.

From signing in at the dockside with Daniel to the welcome from Brad the skipper and the cheerful help from Mash, my husband and I could tell our three days on the Whitsundays would be good. The boat has plenty of character and history, and the sixteen of us snorkelled, scuba dived, kayaked, explored, helped put the sails up, played games and watched photo shows of the day, with Mash turning out some delightful food. We saw dolphins, turtles, rays and all sorts of fish, and spent a perfect afternoon at Whitehaven Beach feeling as though it was ours alone. The accommodation is tight, though we were lucky to have booked one of the two front cabins for the extra room and privacy.

I went in to book a one-day tour and somehow came away with a three-day one, and it turned out to be the best trip of my travels. Dan, Stu, Masher and Katie were fantastic, attentive to detail and to safety while making sure everyone had fun. There were paddle boards, kayaking, swimming, snorkelling and plenty of games, and the people who dived thoroughly enjoyed it. The wildlife was extraordinary: dolphins, squid, turtles, fish, coral and rays.

I did the three-day, two-night tour on Summertime, and the booking agency were friendly, flexible and well organised beforehand. If you want to see the islands in a relaxed, well-run way rather than on a party boat, this is the one. She's a seventy-year-old sailing boat with real character and enough room for the sixteen passengers, so it never felt crowded, and the crew took us to the best places at the best times. The food was good with plenty for everyone, and the activities are mostly built around diving and snorkelling.

We booked two nights and three full days on Summertime and had an amazing time. Captain Stu, Dan and Caity went out of their way for us, and the weather over the first two days didn't dent their spirits or ours. She's a converted fishing vessel with plenty of character and a hot tub, the beds were spacious, the food was excellent, and Stu set the itinerary around the conditions to get us the best snorkelling. We snorkelled, sunbathed, dived and visited Whitehaven Beach, and saw fish, turtles, rays and humpback whales, two of which passed within metres of the boat.

We were in good hands with Captain Brad, and Dan and Caity looked after us well. The group was a nice mix of solo travellers and couples, and over the three days and two nights nothing felt rushed, from Whitehaven Beach to the diving, snorkelling and kayaking. The meals Caity and Dan made were fantastic and I went back for seconds every time, and evenings on deck with a drink watching the sun go down were lovely. I tried a dive but preferred snorkelling, which was no problem at all, and kayaking through the mangroves on the last day was great fun.

An amazing three-day, two-night trip around the Whitsundays that I loved from start to finish. It isn't a party boat, just relaxed with interesting things to do and a friendly crew who are easy to get along with. Three days and two nights sailing the Whitsundays on Summertime and we enjoyed every minute. Brad, Daniel and Katie were fun, friendly and helpful, there was plenty of good, healthy food, and the boat was clean and comfortable. We began at stunning Whitehaven Beach, where Katie took some fun photos, saw lots of whales including a mother and calf close up while kayaking, plus turtles and stingrays near Hook Island, and snorkelled off Hook and Hayman. I was nervous about my first discovery dive but Daniel answered all my questions and put me at ease, so I did a second, and with only sixteen berths on an old wooden fishing boat it has real charm.

I chose Summertime because I wanted to dive, and after talking to other people I'm sure I picked the right boat. We had a safety briefing before leaving harbour, and it was very windy on the way out so we got wet and a few felt sick, though we'd been warned and there are spray jackets. Day one was hours at Whitehaven to swim and take photos, longer than other boats stay, day two was diving and snorkelling morning, late morning and afternoon, and day three was a hard kayak into the wind that was worth it for the turtles and rays. Brad, Dan and Katie looked after us well and Katie produced amazing food every day in the tiny kitchen.

We booked the three-day trip on Summertime because it promised three full days of activities, and it delivered. Even the obligatory safety briefing was entertaining, and Brad, Daniel and Felicia worked hard to keep us busy, fed, entertained and safe. The diving and kayaking were well organised and enjoyable, and the high point was watching a mother and calf dolphin hunting squid in the boat's lights on the second night.
“Best trip ever in Whitsunday!”
My friend and I did the three-day, two-night sail on Summertime with sixteen of us on board, and it was excellent value. Whitehaven Beach on the first day was stunning, with a guide explaining the wildlife on the sand and a photographer with the group, and the food was generous, right down to late-night desserts, with your own drinks allowed after five. Day two was snorkelling and diving, suitable even for beginners, with instructors taking only three or four at a time, starting in the shallows and taking photos underwater. Day three was kayaking to a beach full of turtles in clear water and then to another full of rays, and each evening we played games and looked through the day's photos.

Brad, Elli and Dan worked tirelessly on our three-day, two-night cruise, and there was plenty to do without any of it feeling rushed. Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling and sea kayaking were the highlights, the hot tub was a crowd pleaser, and between the snorkellers and the divers we saw manta ray, stingrays, reef sharks, turtles, coral and fish. The weather wasn't always on our side, but Brad shifted the schedule so we saw Whitehaven in the sun, and Dan and Elli kept us in raincoats and in good humour. I was travelling solo for the first time and Dan made a point of mixing people together from the moment he met us at the marina, then showed a slide show of the day's photos each evening.
“Summertime!”
I did the three-day, two-night cruise on Summertime with my sister and the weather was perfect. She's an older boat but homely, comfortable and full of character, and I've rarely slept better than rocking gently at anchor. We swam, snorkelled, dived and kayaked as much as we liked, with a diverse group and plenty of new friends made. Captain Brad was friendly and knowledgeable, Daniel was a good dive master and guide, and Eli was great company and cooked remarkably well in that galley.

The crew had everything well organised and I could not fault any of it. The food was good and plentiful, the sleeping space was cosy, and we had fine weather plus a few turtles alongside us while kayaking. I would say do a couple of dives as well; it has stayed with me.

I'm glad we chose this trip around the Whitsundays: the length was right and the activities let us see it properly. Stu the captain, Dan and Ellie were friendly and helpful throughout, and it was my first time scuba diving, with Dan a patient and knowledgeable dive master. The food was spot on, we also kayaked and snorkelled, and a good group made for a relaxed atmosphere. One warning, the beds are very compact.

We wanted a Whitsundays trip where we would meet other travellers without being packed onto a crowded boat, and Summertime, with a maximum of 16 over three days, suited us. Brad the captain picked good spots for every activity, Daniel the dive instructor kept things running smoothly and Eli kept us well fed. We saw sea turtles and eagle rays in the water and had dolphins around us at night, and anchoring in quiet bays meant a sky full of stars and good sunrises.

The crew take your enjoyment seriously and are clearly passionate about the Whitsundays. There are plenty of activities, good food and you're comfortable. It isn't a party boat for the young crowd but one for people who want to see the reef properly, and the snorkelling beat the diving.

I joined friends who had already booked and, not being someone who signs up for organised group things, I had no idea what to expect. Brad, Daniel and Felicia struck a good balance between the optional activities, such as snorkelling, diving and the walks, and time to do nothing on the boat. The other guests were a diverse, easy-going bunch, so I had company when I wanted it and quiet when I did not, and there was always enough food for seconds.

I wanted a Whitsundays trip that was not a party boat, and Summertime, an old vessel done up to hold 16 comfortably, was right for that. Captain Stu, Dan and Ellie made everyone feel involved from the marina onwards, and Dan talked several people through their first ever scuba dives. The food was excellent, with hot drinks and snacks after every activity, and the hot tub on deck was a good extra. We snorkelled, dived and swam in beautiful spots and kayaked into shallow mangrove areas with rays and turtles below us.
“Best way to experience the Whitsunday's (Summertime boat)”
I did three days and two nights on Summertime, where Dan, Brad and Felicia worked flat out to look after our group of 16. I wanted more than a cruise around the islands but not a schedule so packed that I missed the detail, and this struck it about right, and you get fed very well. The mix of snorkelling, scuba, kayaking, swimming and beach time showed us the best of the islands and a lot of different creatures. I liked the evenings going through the day photos while Dan talked us through the sea life we had seen; he knows a huge amount about it.

Our trip on Summertime was the best part of our travels so far. The boat is older but clean and well maintained, with plenty of shade and a fresh water hot tub at the stern. Brad, Dan and Ellie worked endlessly to keep us comfortable, well fed and entertained, and Dan in particular kept everyone laughing. The other passengers made it too, with constant laughter and good conversation.

This has been the best part of my time in Australia so far and I could not fault a thing. The crew were welcoming and friendly, the food was good and there were enough activities to see plenty in the time. I would go again and I would recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I sailed on Summertime and the crew, Brad the captain, Dan the dive instructor and Eli our hostess and cook, were professional and worked hard for us. The food was plentiful and the accommodation clean and tidy. We swam at Whitehaven Beach, snorkelled, dived and kayaked, and saw stingrays, turtles, dolphins and giant trevally. The crew took photos through the day and showed them each evening, including underwater shots so the non-divers saw what was down there.

I ended up on Summertime after a last minute cancellation on another boat, and the office staff sorted it out quickly. Brad and the crew were good hosts and the boat was comfortable and well equipped for diving, kayaking and exploring the islands. We were first onto Whitehaven Beach, which I put down to Brad knowing what he is doing. Dan was a good dive guide and entertainer and Felicia cooked well, and ages ran from 5 to about 50 with everyone looked after.
“Summertime sail trip”
Three good days on Summertime with Brad, Dan and Felicia, on a boat that is attractive, well maintained and crewed by people who had my confidence straight away. I dive, and Dan made it so approachable that I talked my other half into trying it; the sites were exciting and full of life, and the snorkelling was excellent for anyone not diving. Food was fresh and plentiful with snacks between meals, and it is bring your own drink with no drinking before 5pm, which worked well. Do not expect luxury cabins on a sailing boat, but it was clean and the toilets worked fine.

Plenty to do and a good crew on board Summertime. The atmosphere was easy, the sights were great and the food was very good.

We did the three day, two night trip on Summertime and would recommend it, not least because it is not a booze cruise and the mix of passengers was good. The boat is nice, the snorkelling was great and we decided to dive for the first time; Dan looked after us so well that I would happily do it again, and he entertained us the whole way. The kayaking was full of wildlife, dolphins came round the boat each night, and we got to sail properly on the way back to the marina.
“Summertime Sailing Boat / Whitsundays Sailing Adventure”
This was the best thing I did on a month between Brisbane and Port Douglas. Over three days and two nights we kayaked in the Coral Sea, visited Hayman Island and Whitehaven Beach, snorkelled, and there were deep sea diving options too. Captain Brad and his crew were funny, organised and careful about safety, the food was delicious and plentiful, and after dark there were dolphins and jumping fish all round the boat. With 16 of us I came away feeling I had made a boatful of friends.

Three of the most memorable days I have had. Brad, Daniel and Felicia were friendly and helpful, and the food was extraordinary and there was plenty of it. We had a little rain but it made no difference, and the diving, the beach stops and the snorkelling were all good. I would go with them again.

“Fabulous Summertime”
Check in at the office was frosty enough to leave my daughter and me a little worried, but getting aboard Summertime turned that around completely. We made friends and ate delicious meals and snacks produced out of a tiny galley. I got back into snorkelling and kayaking after years away from both, with plenty of encouragement from Brad, Dan and Ellie, and I could not recommend the trip more.

A really nice boat with a good itinerary and a crew who set an easy tone. Four of us travelled together and thoroughly enjoyed it. Day one was Whitehaven Beach, where we outstayed the day trippers and had it to ourselves, day two we dived and day three we kayaked. My one complaint was that there was not enough wind for much sailing.

I would recommend the three day trip on this boat again. Captain Brad and his crew are friendly and skilled and seem to have worked out the balance between doing things and simply resting. We snorkelled at two spots and had a morning of kayaking, and although the weather was mixed I enjoyed it as much as my first trip in full sun. Both times we saw dolphins, turtles, masses of fish and plenty of stingrays.

We booked Summertime because it offered scuba for those who wanted it, snorkelling for everyone and tandem kayaks, and the kayaks in particular we had not seen elsewhere. The crew clearly enjoy their work and were relaxed and approachable with everyone. The bunk area is condensed and fairly open, so pay the extra for the private double if you want privacy, and there are intro dives for anyone who has never dived. Day one was Whitehaven Beach, day two scuba and snorkelling and day three kayaking, and we saw turtles, dolphins, stingrays and giant trevally from the boat, with Chris, Daniel and Bonnie making the trip.

Three very good days aboard Summertime, with two nights off shore and three full days around the islands, all well organised. Whitehaven Beach started us off, we snorkelled at two reef spots the next day, and on the last morning we kayaked the coastline and mangroves, the activity we had looked forward to least and ended up liking most. The crew were good company and worked hard for us. Worth knowing: it is an older wooden boat with limited deck seating on backless benches and little space to sunbathe, and because it is set up for diving we felt the non-divers were a bit of an afterthought and would have liked some guidance while snorkelling.

The three day, two night trip on Summertime has been the high point of my travels. It is hard to choose between the boats, but this one suited me: not modern, which is part of the charm, with clean, comfortable facilities, a hot tub and plenty of room to relax on deck. The crew made it, with Chris knowing the islands and reef, Dan hosting and getting the group to mix, and Bonny cooking excellent food and taking loads of photos. It is not a party boat, but our group ran from mid twenties to mid thirties and was very sociable, with a few drinks in the evening.

I loved my three day, two night trip on Summertime. Brad was happy to answer anything, Daniel kept the boat in good spirits and made even scraping your plate funny, and Bonnie cooked well, with vegetarian options as good as the rest. There was as much to do as you wanted, or you could simply relax on deck, and we had plenty of time at Whitehaven Beach, good snorkelling spots and diving; my second intro dive was the high point of my trip. The kayaking took us past mangroves with stingrays and baby sharks, and travelling solo I felt among friends straight away.

My husband, our 20 year old daughter and I count the three day cruise on Summertime as the best part of our time in Australia. Daniel the dive instructor was energetic but careful, and the two of them took every chance to dive in very clear water. I am a coward in the water, but the crew encouraged me into snorkelling and I am glad they did. Elle cooked fresh on board, Captain Brad navigated, and the winds let us sail back to Airlie Beach, which was an experience in itself.

Three great days on Summertime, thanks to Daniel, Ellie and Brad. The food was far better than I expected, and Daniel brought the group together as well as running the scuba diving and kayaking. I would recommend it, though not if you want a party boat; we did not, and the slightly older crowd and the focus on daytime activities suited us.

We did three days and two nights on Summertime and had a very good time. The sailing was smooth, the crew friendly and the food excellent, and they got my food allergies right every time. It is an old sailing ship focused on adventure rather than drinking, so you get a real sailing trip, and it cannot be easy running three days for 15 guests. The days were well planned, with enough activity and plenty of time to relax.

We spent three days and two nights aboard Summertime and it was the best thing we did on the east coast, with 15 of us getting on well. Day one was Whitehaven Beach with a walk to a viewpoint and a swim, day two was snorkelling spots and diving, and day three was sea kayaking before we got back to Airlie Beach in the afternoon. I had never dived, so I did two intro dives and really enjoyed them, and the snorkelling visibility was very good. The captain and crew were friendly and helpful, the food was good and they ran through the day photos each evening.

A very pleasant three days aboard Summertime, with hardworking staff who know where to take you for the best of the Whitsundays. There was a lot of food and all of it was good. The diving was a bit disappointing, but everything else, the sea kayaking especially, was wonderful.

I enjoyed my three days on Summertime. The captain and crew were friendly and good company, and the days were fairly structured, with snorkelling, diving, kayaking, then games and photo slideshows at night. The captain will teach you to sail if you are keen, and there is no drinking before 5pm, so it is not a raging party boat. Bunks and bathrooms were clean but a bit cramped, and the food was good, with drinks bring your own.

The Whitsundays had been on my list for years and they did not disappoint. Brad and his crew on Summertime were excellent from setting sail to docking three days later. The scenery is jaw dropping and there was a good mix of relaxing and activities for everyone; with 16 on board be ready to be friendly, but we had a ball.

I was one of a gang of 16 celebrating a 50th birthday on Summertime and we had a brilliant time. The scenery and beaches were beautiful and the snorkelling and kayaking were good fun. My boyfriend and I sailed on Summertime for three days and two nights and loved the islands, with Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling over lovely coral and fish on the Great Barrier Reef, a bottlenose dolphin and a turtle, plus sea kayaking that was hard work against the current. The boat is an older wooden one, full at 16 passengers and three crew. Our group was mostly older than us, at 24, and the evenings were quiet, with no alcohol before 5pm and little entertainment beyond Dan the deckhand and instructor showing the day photos, after which people went to bed. We still made good friends and had a lovely time, but if you want a drinking, party atmosphere this is not the boat; it suits people after a peaceful sailing trip or families.

Worth it if you want a sailing trip that is relaxing but still active. As a solo traveller you are unlikely to be the only one; the atmosphere was good, the crew friendly and competent, the food excellent and the activities interesting. One of the best things I did in Australia.

Just back from two nights sailing the Whitsunday Islands on Summertime. The reef, the kayaking, the snorkelling and the scenery were fabulous, and the stars at night felt magical. There were 13 of us from all sorts of countries, and the fun and laughter left me feeling like a child at Christmas. The staff were fabulous.

My husband and I were on Summertime for our honeymoon, and although we wondered beforehand how it would fit all 14 of us, you get over that quickly once aboard. Daniel was skipper and scuba master and was full of energy, while Chiara cooked so well that we always went back for seconds. The diving was not up to the outer reef and the choppy seas kept visibility low, but there was still plenty to see. Stu was our captain and made the rough conditions as comfortable as he could, and the crew got on so well that after a few days it felt as though we had all known each other for years.

Stu the skipper, Dan the deckhand and dive instructor, and Chiara the hostess and head chef looked after us very well. Over two nights and three days we had sun, sailing, diving, snorkelling, kayaking and the walk to the stunning Whitehaven Beach, with good food and good company.

Three days and two nights on Summertime with my parents and my partner, and the crew were patient and encouraging with my father, who gets nervous in the water, turning every awkward moment into a game or a joke. Captain Stew woke us with the Lion King theme and chatted with guests whenever he was not navigating, and we had plenty of time at Whitehaven Beach, where the crew helped my parents spot a shark and taught them the stingray shuffle, plus a kayak through the mangroves among stingrays. The hot tub at the stern was constantly full and did as much as anything to get people talking and mixing. Bonnie cooked fresh food and looked after the four vegetarians on board so well that we wrote down a couple of recipes to make at home, and Dan retold the day in evening slideshows that had the whole boat laughing.

Other travellers recommended Summertime to us and we are very glad we picked it. The three days were well thought out, with Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling and diving and kayaking, and Brad the skipper kept everything running smoothly. The boat was a decent size for 15 guests and four crew, the beds comfortable and the deck spacious, the hot tub good for warming up after a dive, and the water clarity at the chosen spots impressed me. Khiara and Bonnie cooked excellent fresh meals, better than we had on other tours, Daniel did some fine barbecues, and the gluten free option we paid extra for worked well for my wife.

Khiara's cooking was excellent, and Lucas and Dan took us to good spots for diving and snorkelling. I'd recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and I did the three day, two night trip on Summertime and would strongly recommend it. We had heard the two day trips were a bit short, and this gave us time for Whitehaven Beach, four dives and sea kayaking without rushing, with the hot tub at the end of the night a welcome bonus. Brad is an engaging captain, Daniel kept us entertained even after eight dives in a day, and Bonnie and Chiara fed us very well. I tend to get seasick and did not feel it once.

We sailed as a family of four with children aged nine and thirteen, and all of us loved it. Stu, Lucas and Khiara kept the trip relaxed and interesting, and nothing ever felt rushed. We saw turtles, stingrays and whales breaching, the food was plentiful and good, and the spa was welcome after snorkelling. Whitehaven Beach was every bit as lovely as we'd hoped.

My friend and I had a great time on this boat. The crew were friendly, the food very good, the beds comfortable and the views excellent, and it's worth waking early for the sunrise. The snorkelling spots and the kayaking were both superb and we saw plenty of marine life. It isn't a party boat but a sailing trip for any age, and worth every penny; take a waterproof camera and warm clothes for the winter nights.

Three excellent days on Summertime, taking in Whitehaven Beach, two reefs by snorkel, and inflatable kayaks for spotting turtles and rays. Brad was happy to let us learn and help out with the sailing. The food was tasty and there was always enough, the bunks are curtained and everyone worked around each other easily, and the 60-second shower rule turned out to be manageable. It isn't a party boat, so bring your own drinks for the evening, along with layers, plenty of suncream and a waterproof camera.

We were on Summertime and it was a terrific few days. The crew were great, we all got a turn in the jacuzzi, and although sleeping space is tight nobody minded. The food was excellent, including fresh fish off the barbecue, and snorkelling we saw stingrays, a turtle and endless fish. Bring your tablets if you get seasick.

Our trip on Summertime ran three days and two nights: Whitehaven Beach on the first, scuba and snorkelling on the second, kayaking on the third. The food was first class throughout and the cooks deserve real credit. It isn't a party boat, and drinking happened after 5pm once the day's activities were done, so we were always fresh in the morning. Lucas, our diving instructor, was endlessly helpful and good company, and the reef on our morning snorkel was the highlight for me.

We were taken to some very special reefs and saw a great variety of fish, coral and turtles. The highlight of my 3 week trip to Oz was our 3 day/2 nights sail on board the Summertime, a wooden former crayfishing boat, 15-17 th March 2015.Stupendous is the word,it was recommended by our travel agent Adventure Cairns & Beyond and they got it right. Trip promised sailing, diving, and kayaking and we absolutely loved it.Excellent food with full breakfast, morning tea/coffee, lunch, afternoon tea with homemade cake, snacks before huge dinner.We were never hungry so big shout out to Noelle who prepared all on board and the lovely Lucas, diving instructor, who barbqued for us. Take your own alcohol and stash in fridge for pre dinner sundowners. Brad was top skipper and safety was paramount. Loved eating up on deck with great gang of young people and hearing the feeding frenzy of a bull nosed shark which Brad illuminated for us with a spotlight. Highlight was the walk to the beautiful white Whitehaven beach & swim in the turquoise ocean. Of course sizzling temperatures were the icing on the cake.We were able to buy the DVD of our trip with super underwater photography & beach antics. This is a not to be missed trip of lifetime on Summertime, a highly professional set up. Thanks Brad & crew. Enjoyed our dinner & get together on land afterwards. Very good value as all inclusive.
“Summertime special”
My sailing boat was called 'summertime' and I felt very lucky to be aboard her. Skipper Brad and deck hands Pascale and Noël did everything they could to make it feel special. What was best? Excellent and plentiful food? Superb tuition from Pascale over scuba snorkelling and kayaking. Seeing coral? Seeing turtles?
For me it was being able to lay on the boat deck on cloudless nights studying the Southern sky and seeing shooting stars with NO air pollution to spoil it. It was a majestic sight. The Milky Way was clearly visible.

We sailed on Summertime for three days and two nights and enjoyed it despite the poor weather. Whitehaven Beach looked like a slice of paradise and the snorkelling was satisfying, with a few sea turtles. The food was decent, but the best part was the company: a real mix of ages and nationalities.

We're only halfway through our east coast trip and I already know Summertime was the highlight. Every day was full of activities, good food and proper hospitality, with early starts so you get the most out of each one, and Noel and Pascal took professional photographs along the way. A lot of our group were trying snorkelling, diving or kayaking for the first time, and the crew guided everyone to the best spots so we all felt safe and relaxed. There's a hot tub too.

Sailing on Summertime was the best part of our trip to Australia, out in the Whitsundays on an old crayfish sailboat. We hiked, visited Whitehaven Beach, scuba dived, snorkelled and kayaked, and Pascal the dive instructor was excellent with the beginners on the Great Barrier Reef. The food was surprisingly high quality for the middle of the ocean. The captain was a bit strict and didn't seem all that keen to be out there, and wouldn't switch the hot tub on the first day, but it didn't spoil things and I'd still recommend the boat.

I picked Summertime because it's one of the few boats that leaves in the morning on day one and gets back in the afternoon on day three, so you get more time aboard. With a maximum of sixteen passengers the atmosphere is relaxed rather than party-oriented. The crew were great, particularly Noelle the chef and Pascal the dive instructor, and there was far more food than we could get through. My one gripe is that mornings run straight from an early breakfast into the water with no let-up, while the evenings are all free time; the day could be balanced better.

The food and activities were well organised, and I went scuba diving for the first time because the instructors gave me the confidence and the setting was perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I had the time of my life. I went with family and extended family, the other passengers were friendly and full of stories, and the crew were kind, helpful and always up for a chat. The food was amazing and the puddings even better; if you go on Summertime, eat the potato salad. The diving was great fun and the reefs unreal, the dive master was helpful to everyone and good on the barbecue, and the captain explained plenty and was glad of an extra hand with the sails.

The beds were comfortable and we both slept well; I couldn't fault it.

We had an amazing time on this trip. Stu, Kendra and Kane were thoroughly professional and good fun, and the extra crew in training, Joe and Pascal, were just as good. The food was great, Summertime is clean and well maintained, and the relaxed feel makes it a good choice if you don't want a party boat. We reached Whitehaven when hardly anyone else was there, and the snorkelling and diving sites had healthy coral and fish I hadn't seen off Cairns, plus a couple of turtles while kayaking on the last day.

Kendra, our host, was engaging and energetic, cooked some delicious food and took us to Whitehaven Beach, where we spent three hours swimming, lying on the sand and messing about with our boat mates. I'm not certified, so I'd resigned myself to one intro dive and snorkelling after that, but Pascal our dive instructor got me three dives at three different sites and made sure everyone was comfortable and safe. Captain Brad clearly takes pride in his ship: it was clean, the food was good and the whole boat was open for us to explore.

An outstanding trip with an amazing crew. Captain Brad knows his seamanship and the area well, and is fiercely protective of the reef. Brianna was a charming hostess with a contagious laugh and a very good cook, with never any food left over, and Pascal the dive instructor was highly capable, good company and handy on the barbecue. Summertime herself is old and made of timber but full of character, and really came to life under sail; I'll be doing this trip again.

We had a fantastic time on Summertime, largely down to a dedicated and passionate crew. There were fourteen passengers and three crew, and Kendra, Kane and Brad went out of their way from the moment we boarded, chatting with everyone rather than keeping apart as staff. The food was delicious and there was far more than we could eat, and small touches went a long way, like our shoes set out neatly on the harbour on the last morning. That level of service is rare, so I'd recommend Summertime to anyone wanting to snorkel, dive or kayak around the Whitsundays.

My husband and I did the three-day, two-night Summertime trip as part of our honeymoon. It was an adventure but also very relaxing, and we chose it for the mix of activities and the small group of fifteen. She's a beautiful old wooden sailing ship and we took one of the two private quarters, well worth it for the extra space and privacy, while Kendra somehow produced feasts out of a tiny kitchen. The kayaking, snorkelling and Whitehaven Beach outing were all great fun and we even paddled alongside a turtle, though if you're not keen on scuba you may see more elsewhere.

Friends had told us about their sailing trip on Summertime, and as we wanted something fun but not a party boat it was a great choice. Kendra, Keane and Captain Brad were all very good company. We kayaked through the mangroves, hunted for stingrays, dived down to the coral, snorkelled among butterfly fish and walked a nearly empty Whitehaven Beach, taking a lot of silly photos along the way. All that makes you hungry and Kendra kept turning out lovely meals; after three days at sea we could still feel the waves.

Summertime suits anyone wanting to relax and unwind: a small boat carrying small numbers and by no means a party boat. The three crew were highly attentive, worked extremely long hours and kept their standards up throughout, and I couldn't fault their service. You can choose whether to join in with the activities and there's never any pressure. I hope to go back one day, and if I don't I'll be pointing other people their way.

My overnight bus ran four hours late and I missed the boat I'd booked. The woman in the office got me onto Summertime instead at no extra cost, which turned out to be an upgrade, and I really appreciated her taking the stress out of it. The trip itself was amazing: a small group of fifteen, plenty of time for diving, snorkelling and kayaking, a great crew and a lot of very good food.

Brad is a capable skipper, Kendra a wonderful hostess who put on great meals, and Kane knew the environment well and could handle a barbecue. The other passengers were really good company, and we were lucky enough to see whales, dolphins, turtles and rays, as well as stunning Whitehaven Beach, the snorkelling and the kayaking. Some of the complaints in other reviews seem to overlook that weather and sealife on a sailing trip can't be guaranteed.

I did the three-day, two-night trip on Summertime with my sixteen-year-old son and we both had a great time. It's an older wooden boat carrying about sixteen guests, which made for a good social atmosphere, and the winds were kind enough that we sailed rather than motored to most of our stops. We snorkelled over a wide variety of coral and fish, kayaked, and walked to Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach, both spectacular, with the hot tub much in demand afterwards. Kendra cooked well from a tiny galley and took plenty of photos, Kane organised the dives, snorkels and kayaking, ran the barbecue and gave a nightly rundown on marine life, and Stuey skippered us to good anchorages; take as little as possible on board and pack some motion sickness pills.

“Great Boat, Great Crew”
My cousin and I, eighteen and twenty-two, were pointed towards Summertime by someone at a hostel in Cairns and it was fantastic. Brad was a brilliant skipper and knew the coral and the beaches, Kendra spent much of the day in the kitchen producing very tasty meals in big quantities, and Kane provided the entertainment as well as being an amazing dive instructor. The other passengers were a wide range of ages and we all got on really well. Whitehaven Beach was incredible, the water was clear and the coral beautiful with more fish than I'd have believed, and between kayaking, swimming, walking and diving we saw whales, dolphins, turtles and stingrays.

Two friends and I booked this and it was everything we'd expected. A small group of sixteen plus three crew made it sociable without being a party boat, the food was amazing and plentiful thanks to Kendra, and Kane the dive instructor was entertaining and knew his marine life. She's a vintage wooden boat and we got all five sails up at one point, which was the sailing highlight. The activities were well spaced, with snorkelling and diving on the first two days, kayaking on the third and a short walk to Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach, and there was still plenty of time to sit in the hot tub on deck.

We've just finished three days and two nights on Summertime and loved it. Kendra's meals were superb, Cane found us turtles until our kayaks were surrounded by them in Tongue Bay, and David skippered us to the best snorkelling spots while making everyone feel at home. There's plenty of deck space to lounge on and even a hot tub to warm up in after snorkelling; below deck is snugger, with shared doubles curtained off the saloon. The trips all look alike when you're booking, but we were glad we picked this one.

Summertime, skippered by Brad, gave me plenty of sights and small adventures. The crew were friendly without being over the top - thanks to Cain for the information, patience and stories - and Kendra's food was fresh, varied and plentiful; a cookie tastes remarkable after a couple of hours in the water. For the service we got, the price felt fair, and I saw beautiful country and odd, lovely animals and heard whale song for myself. I'd happily recommend the cruise.

I lived aboard Summertime for three days and two nights and would recommend it to anyone thinking of sailing the Whitsundays - other travellers I met who sailed on bigger boats didn't sound as pleased. With 12 guests and three crew it was easy to get to know everyone. Kendra, Cane and Brad were superb; I still don't know how Kendra cooked so well in that tiny galley, and there's a barbecue and a jacuzzi on board. Kayaking was probably my favourite part, though snorkelling the reef was stunning too, and I came away browner, heavier and with friends from all over the world.

I don't often write reviews, but I had such a good time on Summertime that I wanted to say so. Kendra, Heather and Xanath/Shauni, along with Captain Dave, were fun, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the food was impressive - barbecues, hand-made pizzas and plenty of fresh fruit and snacks. We got into secluded bays a shorter trip wouldn't reach and the crew went out of their way to find wildlife, including manta rays. Kayaking, diving and snorkelling were all on offer, or you could simply relax on board; the point is to get involved rather than just watch.

My partner and I sailed the Whitsundays on Summertime and it was just the break we needed after some serious burn-out. Choosing a boat was the hardest part, since the trips are largely variations on the same thing - we found it helped to settle on a budget and a trip length first, then decide whether a shared double was fine, and how big a boat we wanted, as the larger ones are cheaper per head but less personal while the smaller ones can have extras like a spa. Big boats suit people who want to party, small ones people who want to chill, and the included activities vary, with some adding kayaking or fishing. We settled on Summertime as a good compromise on value and activities, since we wanted kayaking rather than diving, and it sleeps 18.

We were visiting my daughter in Australia and she picked this boat on a friend's recommendation; I'm not a boat person but we had a ball. It's an old fishing boat converted for passengers, so the accommodation is basic, but Dave, Britt and Xanath more than make up for it - fun, professional, and I felt safe even in howling overnight winds. Britt's cooking was excellent, with seconds always going and dietary needs catered for, Dave reassured me about my fear of fish so I did snorkel, and Xanath the dive instructor gave my daughter and husband a dive they loved. We dived, snorkelled and kayaked and saw a huge manta ray, turtles, a sting ray and even a dolphin one night, and although it isn't a party boat you can bring your own drinks.

Even with poor weather on the first day we got Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling at two or three lovely spots, optional scuba diving, kayaking among turtles, stingrays and sharks, and jumping off the boat. The old boat is a fine place to sit in the sun, use the spa at the stern and take in the island views, and the beds, toilets and showers are more comfortable than you might expect. The crew were happy, welcoming and clearly knew their jobs, which made all the difference.

We spent three fun days and two nights on Summertime with Brad, Alex, Alissio and Zahailey. Whitehaven Beach, the scuba diving and the sea kayaking were all great, the crew cooked some fabulous meals and we met a lot of good people on board. The boat is cosy and doesn't go all the way out to the Great Barrier Reef, but there's still plenty to see around the Whitsunday Islands. You can bring your own drinks, though drinking is only allowed from 5pm to midnight - we'd have liked to know that before we brought too much on board.

We spent three days on Summertime and enjoyed every minute. It began with a thorough introduction and a full safety briefing, and the food Alex put out was excellent, varied and well arranged. We did a three-day, two-night sail on Summertime with a great crew: Whitehaven Beach on the first day, snorkelling or diving on the second and kayaking on the last. You can drink your own alcohol in the evening but not during the day, and showers are limited to a minute each so the fresh water lasts the trip, though there's a hot tub to rinse off in and nobody really minded. The masthead light drew a dolphin feeding on squid and flying fish both evenings, Brad the skipper plays a good roster of music, the food was plentiful with snacks twice a day, and the bunks are small but comfy. The crew were my favourite part: friendly, professional and set on everyone having a good time.

I've just had a fantastic three days on Summertime with Cookie, who was standing in while the owner Brad had a trip off, plus Ali and Alessio; they created a relaxed atmosphere and Ali's cooking was the best food I'd had since arriving in Australia. There were 13 of us out of a possible 16 so it never felt crowded, and there's even a hot tub at the back for warming up after diving. This isn't a party boat, so if you don't want to swim, snorkel, dive or kayak it isn't for you. I hadn't planned to dive, but Alessio tempted me with a night dive and I ended up doing four, with a white tip reef shark and an epaulette shark among the highlights, although visibility was poor with the full moon and the groups were sometimes a bit big underwater.

Really great trip with a lot of fun. Ali is a brilliant host, full of games and daft photo ideas, good at getting everyone laughing together and always with more food ready. Alex is good fun too, and Brad found the best spots for diving and snorkelling as well as sheltered places to eat and sleep, as it was a windy trip. We chased turtles and stingrays, raced the kayaks and relaxed in the hot tub - if you want to really experience the Whitsundays, Summertime is the boat.

My wife and I had a great three days on Summertime, with the crew holding the whole thing together - food, visits, activities. We were the oldest on board in our sixties and the others ranged from mid-twenties to fifties; it wasn't a party boat, thankfully, and there was plenty of time for chatting, reading and lazing about alongside the activities. The cabin was cramped, but that's what we expected, the weather was excellent and the trip was good value. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, gentle but active trip around this beautiful area.

Summertime is a beautiful boat with plenty of room for everyone, and it's remarkable how they turn out such good meals; there's always a snack going, so you never go hungry. Aly, Brad and Mickey look after you well and are good fun. Three days means proper time at each spot, with diving, snorkelling and kayaking on offer, and sitting on deck with a drink watching the sun go down over the islands shouldn't be missed.

Brad the captain and the crew, Alex and Alie, could not do enough for us. There were only 15 of us on board out of a maximum of 16, so there was plenty of room to lounge while we cruised. Day one was cruising and beautiful Whitehaven Beach, day two snorkelling and diving, and day three kayaking and the trip back. The food was great, and you can bring your own beer or wine.

My trip on Summertime was excellent. The crew - Ali, Brad and Alex - really put the effort in, taking us to the best places at the best times, which was exactly what I'd hoped for when I booked. Our family did the three-day, two-night trip on Summertime and would recommend it; we chose it for the triple berth, because it isn't a party boat, and for the kayaking and diving. There were 16 of us on board, which was a bit crowded but did mean you got to know everyone. Day one was beautiful Whitehaven Beach with lots of fun photos with Ally, our energetic hostess and cook, day two was snorkelling in several spots and scuba with Mikey, and the last day was kayaking with heaps of turtles and rays. Captain Brad, Ally and Mikey were easy to get along with and the meals and snacks were excellent, though we'd have preferred a slightly bigger cabin with its own bathroom, and the weather was so calm we never got the sails up.

We chose it for the itinerary - a day at Whitehaven Beach, a day of diving and snorkelling and a day of kayaking - but what stood out was the food, all made from scratch by chef Alex and genuinely good for a boat. Neither of us had dived before and Mickey taught us the basics, though the diving costs extra. Our group came from England, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland and the US, and there was a party at a bar in town afterwards; the crew also took underwater photos you can get a copy of.

Whitehaven Beach was beautiful, with photos for Aly and a game of frisbee; day two was snorkelling and trying scuba with Mikey; and the last day's kayaking with all the turtles and rays was a highlight. Brad, Aly and Mikey were easy company and Aly's food was superb, with three big meals a day plus snacks, so nobody went hungry.

We're a young couple just back from three days on Summertime and had a brilliant time, thanks to the crew and the sort of guests the trip attracts. Siggie and Holly cooked delicious food and kept everyone's spirits up, and Adam is an excellent, enthusiastic dive instructor, kayak guide and all-round boat hand who gets everyone involved without anyone feeling forced; Brad is serious and professional at the helm but could mix with the guests a bit more. My criticisms are that the diving is expensive, which put us off doing more, and there's no dry bag on board for cameras. The evening slideshow of the day's photos is good fun, and the final day's kayak through the mangroves, spotting turtles, plenty of rays and even young sharks, is the icing on the cake.

I can't imagine being better looked after at sea than we were by the crew of Summertime. Everything was prepared and run efficiently, and in good humour, and the healthy food was a bonus. My husband and I were lucky enough to join a three-day cruise around the Whitsundays aboard Summertime. Brad, Adam and Sizzie were fabulous - friendly, and careful that everyone was having a good time and had what they needed. You can dive, snorkel, kayak and do nature walks, or simply relax on the beautiful beaches or in the hot tub on board. Safety was always their first concern, on the boat and in the water, and I'd recommend the cruise.

I went with my girlfriend and another couple and the trip was superb - excellent weather, great activities and a spotless boat. The crew were friendly and took us to the best spots: Whitehaven Beach including a stunning secluded corner nobody else seemed to know about, snorkelling with turtles, kayaking with sting rays, and we even saw dolphins up close. The cooking was first rate and the hot tub off the stern is a treat, and while it costs a bit more than some boats, the expertise of the captain and crew makes it worth it. Bear in mind it's a wooden boat, so a catamaran would be more luxurious.

Our group of five, all first-time visitors to the reef, ended up on Summertime for a three-day sailing trip and it was the best time we had in Australia during our exchange semester. Whether you want to sail, chill for a few days or fill three days with activity, this is the boat, and we'd happily go again.

The crew made this trip. Brad the captain was calm and very helpful with anything to do with the sailing, and Adam was clearly an experienced diver who pitched in everywhere else. I was hugely impressed by the trouble Siggie went to over my meals, preparing everything separately so there were no tomatoes in them. The snorkelling and kayaking were superb, and I saw more wildlife here than I did out on the outer reef.

This three-day trip was everything I'd hoped for - relaxing and fun, with lots of time outdoors and a warm, helpful crew. The other guests were good company too, from their mid-twenties to their fifties, well travelled and friendly. The crew were keen to get us into the water as much as possible and helped with identifying the fish. I'd never dived before and the beginner scuba option suited me perfectly; the instructor was professional and safety-conscious and I felt comfortable the whole time.

Hard to sum up, but the crew - Brad, Adam and Siggie - were the best part of the trip and it wouldn't have been the same without them. Brad the skipper is calm and positive, with a terrific sense of humour, a real feel for the sea and winds and a knack for choosing where to stop; Adam, only 22, is always smiling, works hard and is the lead diver despite his age; Siggie cooks well and is very good at bringing a group together. We sailed a little, dived, snorkelled, kayaked, talked and laughed, and my wife and I still have hundreds of beautiful images in our heads. Lovely boat too, and we'd recommend it.

The weather was stormy but the crew made sure everyone had a great time, and the dive master even took a group of us on a sunrise dive on Christmas morning, which I'll never forget. We had a relaxing day and a half on board, with kayaking and snorkelling on the first day and Whitehaven the next morning, which is genuinely beautiful. There was not much wind so we could not sail much, and I would have liked a bit more explanation about the sailing itself. Daniel and Damien were funny and helpful and did a great job. My one real gripe was the drinking water, the worst I have had in Australia, though you can buy bottled instead, and I would still go again.

I'd have liked a few more activities squeezed in — two hours in the kayaks felt long — though the snorkelling was good. The food was very good and varied, with plenty of options for dietary requirements, and the staff were nice. As a backpacker I found the atmosphere fairly flat; it's sightseeing focused, which was fine, but it could do with something livelier. Better suited to families or anyone after a quieter trip.

A great trip with a great crew and good activities. One tip is to skip the private cabin, as it costs more and is not really private, so a couple may as well book a double bed. Other than that it was excellent.

A great day sail around Hook Island. Plenty of fish and coral while snorkelling, and the scenery along Saba Bay while kayaking was gorgeous. Brad and Damo were excellent hosts and cooks, and the boat is seventy five years old, which gives the trip a character of its own.

There were only 11 of us and skipper Dan and crew Damien looked after us well, though the boat takes 19 and would feel busier full. We had great weather on day one and a whale breached about 50 metres in front of our kayaks, then we had a good snorkel off Hayman Island and the jacuzzi was going in the afternoon sun. Day two took in the Hill Inlet lookout and a couple of hours at the northern end of Whitehaven, which is exposed to southerlies, and most sailing trips out of Airlie do not reach the southern end where the swimming is best. The food was fairly basic but there was plenty of it, the sail home in 20-knot southerlies was cool but fun, and Summertime is an old timber boat that has been well maintained.
