Wonderful tour with very knowledgeable tour guide Kiwi! Beautiful drive along the southern Australian coast and all the stops. Lunch was good. We stayed on time and everyone was pleasant. I enjoyed Kiwi’s narration along the way, but some non-English speakers had a hard time following. Be sure to request language translation, if needed. Otherwise, awesome!

Absolutely incredible experience visiting the Twelve Apostles. The entire day felt like something out of a movie — dramatic coastline, massive cliffs, and views that honestly don’t look real in person. Every stop along the route was beautiful, but seeing the Apostles at sunset was unforgettable.
The tour itself was very well organized, comfortable, and paced perfectly. Our guide, Anthony was knowledgeable and gave great background on the history and geography of the area without overdoing it. I also appreciated having enough time at each stop to actually take it in instead of feeling rushed

Our guide on the Great Ocean Road drive from Melbourne was Lauren - delightful and very entertaining. It was a long 13-hour day but she kept us entertained throughout, stuck to the schedule and even played fitting songs after each story about the spots along the route. Sam led a wonderful tour out to the Twelve Apostles today. Apollo Bay was lovely too, and I grabbed a tasty pie from the bakery there. Sam was knowledgeable throughout, though the bus seats got a bit uncomfortable by the end of such a long day.

The tour covered all the highlights very well, with plenty of chances to capture beautiful photos and memories. There was DIY coffee with hot water, milk and Tim Tams, and the lunch sandwich was tasty, fresh and filling - I opted for veg and the veggies were so fresh and crunchy. Special credit to our guide Joel, who told us about each place and its history, made everyone comfortable and waited patiently for anyone running late. A sweet person to spend the day with - thanks and love from India.

Excellent tour — our guide Chris, known as Kiwi, was wonderful. A must-do for anyone wanting to properly see the Great Ocean Road, with plenty of time given at the Twelve Apostles and brilliant timing throughout. Hats off to Kiwi.
We were a small group of 11, which made visiting the Great Ocean Road really enjoyable. The stops move quickly but leave enough time for photos and to take in the views, and it's a long day of driving — around 500km — but worth it. We saw koalas and kangaroos too. I didn't give five stars because the included lunch was just a small sandwich and a piece of fruit, and the rainforest stop didn't allow enough time to actually walk into the park. Our guide Hilda was lovely throughout.

Joe was our tour guide for this day trip. Really friendly and the information given throughout the tour is great! This tour fits so much into a 12-13hr tour! Anthony was an excellent guide and driver, showing us the best of the Great Ocean Road's coastline, shores and rainforest. His passion and knowledge of the wildlife and the area's heritage really came through, and he stopped several times so we could see koalas and kangaroos. Morning tea and bush tucker were included, and the reverse route — starting at the Twelve Apostles and finishing at the Great Ocean Road arch at sunset — was a great touch. A small group of around 20 made it perfect for a day trip from Melbourne.
“Baby friendly tour”
Excellent tour in which babies were permitted (this was not the case with other tour providers). Our baby was comfortable in her baby capsule provided and enjoyed the tour as well. Joel was an amazing guide whose explanations were both interesting and funny, so we learned a lot and laughed during our tour.
We drove the western coast from Melbourne out to the Twelve Apostles rock formations — a great Autopia experience. Our driver-guide was friendly and shared plenty of useful info along the way, with snacks provided. The views were magnificent — well worth doing.

Had a full day out doing Great Ocean road and other various stops, a really full day but it was very worth it! Joe the guide was fab, funny and knowledgeable about all the places he took us to. Favourite stops were 12 apostles, the razorback and apollo bay. We had lunch included which was nice, and coffee/timtams were also provided on our first stop at Colac. Also saw some koalas and kangaroos along the route! Awesome day :)

Even in heavy rain, Joe's Great Ocean Road trip was spectacular — proof it's worth doing whatever the weather. The rain made for a shorter, mistier day, but the dramatic cliffs, lush rainforest and moody ocean views were still stunning. It's a winding drive, so take it slow and enjoy the scenery.

We were the only Japanese parents and children, but Joe was very friendly and didn’t feel nervous being among people from many other countries.
If you are not good at English, don't worry! Basically, once you get off the bus, you are free to go sightseeing until the meeting time. Meeting time is when they put what they write on the windshield of the bus.
There were more toilets than I expected. We stopped by the cafe and brought our own drinks. It was a full day sightseeing, but it was very good! The Great Ocean and the Twelve Apostles were both amazing.

Lovely full day (reverse tour) including 12 Apostles, Lock Ard, Ottaway National Park (with a stop off to walk through the rainforest), Apollo Bay and the Great Ocean Road Memorial. The reverse tour worked well for us and none of the places were too busy.
Small group (around 16 people), with great live guide during the drive. Lots of freedom at the stop off points, didn’t feel too rushed at all. Managed to see koala’s AND kangaroo’s in the wild!
Simple sandwich, fruit, tea and coffee for lunch (with option for dietary requirements) and Tim-tams!
The Ocean Road Tour is beautiful and definitely a must do, this tour was great value for money and did everything we needed. Would recommend.

Joe is a guide with real soul and humour who looked after every member of the group. He conveyed everything worth knowing in an entertaining way and made sure we could stop to photograph koalas, kangaroos and native birds like the yellow-crested and pink cockatoos, even explaining the local use of "galah". His timing for hikes and sightseeing was always perfect, and drinks, sandwiches and the classic Australian Tim Tam were handed out with a caring smile and a good story. Big praise for an all-round great day.

I joined driver-guide Guang Yang's one-day Great Ocean Road tour on 15 February. He didn't just cover the background of each site - he also gave us insight into Melbourne's development and immigration history, so we came away having learned something as well as sightseeing. He was also thoughtful and patient, reminding us each time to watch for oncoming traffic from the left-rear when stepping off the bus. A really rewarding tour with Guang Yang.
A lovely day trip along the Great Ocean Road with our guide Joel, who was entertaining, warm and personal throughout, with plenty of stops and information. The bus was comfortable, the group was great, and we saw kangaroos and koalas, finishing with a drive through Joel's hometown of Colac. I'd travel with Joel again.

I switched to this tour after my original operator cancelled last minute, and I'm glad I went with Autopia - the sights were spectacular, especially the coastline view from the Twelve Apostles with the waves rolling in under a beautiful blue sky. Joe was a great guide for a long but very worthwhile day along the Great Ocean Road, taking in the stunning coastline and the Twelve Apostles. Some passengers kept swapping seats at each stop, which annoyed others, though that wasn't Autopia's doing — I've seen other operators assign fixed seats to avoid that kind of friction.

Highlights included kangaroos, a rainforest, koalas in the trees, lunch in lovely Apollo Bay, and the picturesque Loch Ard Gorge and Twelve Apostles. 10 out of 10 for the tour, the itinerary, the bus and especially Joe.
“Fantastic Day”
A great way to see the Great Ocean Road, the Twelve Apostles and so much of the countryside around Melbourne. Our guides Sam and Pete were top notch, sharing wonderful information about the many points of interest and planning the stops well for comfort. We saw a beautiful rainbow over the ocean, koalas in the trees and kangaroos and wallabies beside the road, with extra stops for the unexpected photo opportunities. I highly recommend it and would definitely do it again.

An incredible day with Craig — my mum and I did the reverse-direction tour, which I'd recommend since it meant much less traffic at the popular sights. We stopped for coffee and morning tea about an hour in, and the views were some of the best I've seen. We spotted six koalas active in the trees and around fifteen kangaroos. Craig was knowledgeable and fun — completely worth it.
We took a tour along the Great Ocean Road — thirteen hours but plenty to see. Our guide Tomas was excellent at storytelling, and the detour into the rainforest was wonderful.

Did the one-day Great Ocean Road trip and it was brilliant - plenty of great stops with enough time at each. A few sites were closed due to wildfires and flooding, but guide Joel filled the gaps perfectly. Would recommend to anyone.

What a day - totally brilliant and made so special by lovely Joe. He's full of wisdom and knowledge about all things Australia, but it's his magical sparkle and flair for storytelling that really captivated me all day. He took us to his special koala and kangaroo spots so we saw them in the wild, and made me feel so cared for all day, which was lovely as a solo traveller. Everyone on board was really nice, and the cafe and ice-cream stops were perfectly planned. I wouldn't hesitate to book again, especially with Joe.

The music on the bus added to the fun atmosphere, and everything he said we'd see, we did, including the stunning Twelve Apostles, plus plenty of koalas and kangaroos and perfect weather. A brilliant tour of the impressive Great Ocean Road. We saw all the highlights of the coastal scenery, including everything in the Twelve Apostles area, ventured into the beautiful rainforest at Melba Gully, and saw koalas near Apollo Bay and kangaroos near the Twelve Apostles. Joe, our driver-guide, was outstanding - his commentary was always interesting and to the point, never bombarding us with too many facts, and he knew just where to find the wildlife. It's a long day, but very worthwhile.

A fantastic day trip with great scenery, including both dramatic coastline and rainforest, before chilling out for a quick drink in the lovely seaside town of Apollo Bay. Our driver Niall was brilliant and very knowledgeable on the history of the area, with especially interesting facts about the Aboriginal people. When the rainforest walkway was closed by storm damage, he more than made up for it by stopping to find koalas and kangaroos for us to see. The picnic lunch was very nice too - thoroughly recommend this trip.

We had an absolutely beautiful day along the ocean. The 12 Apostles were stunning against the white surf and blue sky.
The lunch provided was a bit light (a sandwich and apple) maybe a small bag of chips (crisps) would have been nice.
We sat right behind Anthony, our driver, and had many interesting and informative conversations.

A long day, but worth every second. Our knowledgeable, friendly guide Anthony shared masses of information and some humorous anecdotes along the way. On this reverse tour we headed inland to the Twelve Apostles first, then took in breath-taking coastal scenery on the return, stopping in small towns of interest. We were lucky with bright, sunny weather, and Anthony made sure we saw iconic wildlife like kangaroos and koalas in their natural habitat. It's a long day, but a trip that provides lasting memories.
“Amazing Great Ocean Road Tour with guide Niall”
My brother and I did this tour with the absolutely amazing Niall as our guide. He greeted us warmly, helped us onto the clean, comfortable bus and kept us running to schedule, giving insightful history on Melbourne and every landmark along the way, with good Aussie tunes to set the vibe. He constantly checked we were comfortable, offered extra food and bathroom stops, gave us more than enough time to explore each stop, and even suggested restaurants and multiple drop-off points at the end. I'd definitely book again and hope for Niall as our guide.

“Very informative”
We have had the most fabulous day from the first stop at the sanctuary with a coffee and a Tim Tam to seeing wallabies and koalas. Onto the gateway to the Great Ocean Road to Apollo for lunch where I had the best fish pie I have ever eaten. Spectacular scenery from the beach to the towns to the countryside.
After this, the Twelve Apostles wow sensational. T.C. has been the loveliest and very informative driver. He has been very considerate with all our stops along the way.

Fantastic trip. It was a long day but Tom was lovely and informative all throughout. You should give him a raise! Only gripe was we could possibly have spent less time at the rainforest and had longer for lunch instead.

A lovely day with Craig and Barry at the wheel, giving really good commentary. The only downside - not their fault - was that the weather turned poor later in the day, and we missed out on seeing koalas. There's a fair amount of driving involved, but overall a great trip.
Wasn't expecting much of an adventure but it turned out to be a great one. Really enjoyed the sightseeing and learning more about Melbourne, and even got photos and video of a grey kangaroo. Thanks, Craig and Barry the platypus.

Craig was a fantastic tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about each of the spots we stopped at and helpful when we had any questions. He made the spots more interesting to see by giving us the history of many of these spots. Lovely tour and one of my favorite tour guides
The Great Ocean Road is a must for anyone visiting Australia. Because of a triathlon event blocking the morning route, we ended up seeing the Twelve Apostles in the afternoon rather than in better morning light, which was a shame, though not the operator's fault. Our guide talked almost non-stop, which made it hard to just take in the scenery myself, but the drive through Victorian farmland was beautiful and we spotted cows, koalas and kangaroos along the way.

Did the Great Ocean Road tour with Tom and Sean, who were both friendly, helpful and informative. Despite the usual grey Victorian weather, it was a great day packed with as many sights as possible, on a comfortable bus with regular toilet breaks and a good lunch stop in Apollo Bay.

“It was a windy day”
We did the Great Ocean Road in reverse, and it turned out to be a great way to beat the crowds at the major stops. The scenery was absolutely stunning with plenty to see and do along the way — from dramatic cliffs to lush rainforests and charming coastal towns.
The tour was well-organized and made the most of the day, covering a lot without feeling too rushed. However, be warned — the winding roads and long hours in the vehicle can be tough if you’re prone to motion sickness.
Did the Great Ocean Road tour and we were lucky with mostly sunny weather. Our driver and guide Kiwi was great, with extensive historical knowledge of the places we passed and visited that really brought the area to life. The bus was comfortable, though it's worth knowing it's a long day.

Our Autopia Great Ocean Road day was fantastic thanks to guide Tom, who was knowledgeable and passionate. He covered Melbourne's First Nations history and local flora and fauna, stopped often for kangaroo and koala sightings, and his marine biology background added extra depth. Highly recommend Tom.
“Nice tour.”
Picked up at the nearest hotel to the Queen Victoria Market, an early morning departure followed by a light morning tea on the way, the 12 Apostles were breathtaking beyond expectation. Meet the kangaroos, take an interesting walk in the rainforest, and twice spot koalas in the trees along the road on the drive! It was a wonderful tour with no shortage of stories from the guides. I definitely recommend you to participate. We have a few friends interested in going to Yukon, we had a good time with the guide, he was really nice!

“The Great Ocean Road: Amazing landscapes but fugitive animals.”
The Great Ocean Road experience was amazing, the landscapes are wonderful with unique rock formations like the Twelve Apostles.
It would be amazing if there were more opportunities to interact with the Koalas and Cangurus. For example, allow visitors to caress and feed the animals in a safe Mood.

A beautiful tour that hit all the classic Great Ocean Road stops. Craig and Berry were fantastic travel companions - Berry (the platypus mascot) is quiet but comes alive at just the right moments! Highly recommended if you don't feel like driving yourself.

Kiwi was very knowledgeable. The sights were amazing especially the 12 apostles. It was serene and breathtaking.
We had a nice lunch. Sandwiches and fruit, very refreshing.
We stopped a few times for restroom breaks. While we stopped, we were able to shop for a few minutes and also stopped at bakery. I had a donut that was outstanding.
The trip is all day. Wear comfy sneakers and dress in layers. I was cold towards the end being winter here in August.

Our very professional tour guide and driver was truly fantastic as he took us to so many beautiful places, told us many many fun, interesting, and informative stories. We truly enjoyed being part of this group with James “Wheels” as our tour leader. He truly went far and beyond his task and responsibilities to make sure everyone had an unforgettable experience every step of the way. The stops were amazing and the scenery breathtaking. It was very well timed so we could do many things, take marvelous pictures, and enjoyed the 12 Apostles at maravelous sunset. James also took us out of the way to a hidden place where we were able to see in the wild and up close Koalas, which was a highlight for us as we didn’t expect it. DO THIS TOUR! It’s my first time in Australia and I spent majority of my trip wishing I came in the summer instead of the winter. It was so bleak and grey but I decided to do this trip on a whim and WOW.
Firstly, I had no clue how beautiful Victoria was since I was just stuck in the city. You have not experienced Australia until you see all of the beauty its nature has to offer. I wish I could attach pictures! Not only did we see the 12 apostles and drive through the great ocean road but we also went into the RAINFOREST. I’m in awe of Australia.
This tour has also been great at fostering community. Kiwi(aka Chris P) our tour guide was the best! He firstly invited us to introduce ourselves during the ride and he was super friendly. His welcoming spirit allowed the other tourists to get to know each other. I’m leaving this tour with 3 new friends! Also Kiwi is a history nerd in the best way possible. He knew so many facts and his passion about sharing knowledge with us made the experience so much better.
Overall this tour definitely made me appreciate Victoria and Australia more. If you would’ve asked me yesterday if I would’ve come back to Australia to visit again I would’ve said no. But after this tour I am left wanting to see more of the beauty of this country. Next time I come to Victoria I am gonna sign up for this tour again. If it was already so beautiful in the winter imagine how majestic it would be in the summer!

Chris was a wonderful, friendly and super knowledgeable guide who made us all feel welcome and excited for the tour. It was planned very well, with plenty of time at the Twelve Apostles and other stops for a proper look and amazing photos. I particularly liked how we went "backwards", catching the Great Ocean Road at sunset - a pink sky and blue ocean was beautiful. A big thank-you to Chris; a guide always makes or breaks a tour, and he did the best job we could ask for.
I did the Great Ocean Road tour in September with Kiwi as guide, who was very knowledgeable about the history and geology of each stop. Great views, commentary and pacing - 10/10 recommend.
Rather than deal with the winding roads myself, I let Kiwi drive and he shared plenty of interesting insights on the Great Ocean Road's history, flora and fauna along the way. Despite changeable weather he was an excellent driver, and the beaches, 12 Apostles and rainforest were stunning across the full 12-hour day.
We booked the Great Ocean Road tour through the Melbourne visitor centre and had Kiwi as our guide. He was very patient answering all our questions and gave us plenty of useful travel information about Melbourne too.

Here is a fair review (I hope).
The trip was enjoyable and memorable experience overall.
I would recommend the journey if you are after just a short day trip to see the area rather than experience it. I would highly recommend staying overnight a night at least if you want to really experience the great ocean road.
The quick stops allowed to barely take pictures quickly and hop back to the bus due to the length of the trip and the multiple stops at different good spots and attractions, it is nothing to do with the service though, rather than the type of the trip/itinerary.
Pros
- Chris (Kiwi) was a very safe and organised driver, also he is very friendly and knowledgeable person of the area history and geography, his commentary was very informative and educational throughout the journey, I learnt much about the Australian history from my trip today. I appreciate the extra effort he put to make the trip more fun for passengers.
- The morning tea and lunch was very tasty/lovely, with good variety of sandwiches for lunch.
- I booked last minute, thankfully they managed to find me a seat, the last one it was, and luckily, it was the front seat.
- USB ports availability for all seats, and charging cables were provided on board for those needed them.
Cons
- The back seats felt a bit cramped for tall people, also the bus felt a bit stuffy at the back due to the size of the bus and seats, it wasn't as small as a mini bus for sure, it was a mid size bus, but I would prefer to travel on a larger coach bus type for such long trips which makes them more roomy and airy.
I would love to see the bus size photo or info next time before I book a trip, I might have overlooked that info if it was already provided, sorry if it was there.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I would love to join their other trips again but rather on a bigger coach bus.

The reverse Twelve Apostles tour with Jacob was fantastic despite some patchy weather. He was knowledgeable, funny and very attentive to the whole group. We were glad we chose the reverse route and highly recommend it.
A pretty good, very long day out with James, who was upbeat and full of local trivia the whole way. Bring snacks, water and spare phone storage. Loved the Apostles, but the surprise stop to see wild koalas was a real highlight, plus we even spotted whales.

We joined Craig and Barry's 1-Day Great Ocean Road Reverse Tour - both were really friendly; we'd been bumped up to the reverse route. They called ahead to check dietary needs, and stops included Colac for a break and Great Otways National Park for lunch. Saw kangaroos and koalas along the way and got great background on each stop - well worth it, and don't miss the Apollo Bay ice cream.
The Great Ocean Road is really beautiful, with fantastic, mind-blowing scenery. I'd love to go back and spend more time there. A good experience overall with Autopia.

Loved the tour - our group was smaller than usual since some people cancelled, so the bus felt nice and spacious. A fabulous experience discovering the Great Ocean Road and its surrounding attractions. Our guide-driver Anthony really helped us enjoy the whole trip, sharing lots of different information including history, facts about the animals and food recommendations, and frequently checking everyone was alright. We visited many beaches, got a great gelato in town, and were lucky to spot a wild kangaroo and a koala despite the cloud. Very pleased and happy - I'll definitely recommend this tour.

The 12 Apostles and rainforest were highlights, and Anthony stopped so we could spot wild koalas and kangaroos. Lunch, drinks and snack stops were included. A long day but well worth it for anyone wanting the highlights.
We took the reverse Great Ocean Road route with Benny as our driver and guide - great with commentary and trivia on the landmarks despite rain most of the day. It's a lot to fit into one day so it feels a bit rushed, though the constant sightseeing keeps the bus time from dragging. In winter, the reverse route means it gets dark before you finish along the coast, even though you beat the crowds at the 12 Apostles.

We did the reverse Great Ocean Road tour and loved it. Highlights were Apollo Bay (we dipped our feet despite the cold water) and the Twelve Apostles, with good sandwiches and a comfy coach along the way. Our guide James, nicknamed Wheels, drove nearly 12 hours and kept everyone entertained with trivia the whole trip.
We did the reverse Great Ocean Road tour last August and it was incredible. Our guide Ilkay shared so many interesting stories that gave real context to the places we visited. He was thoughtful and clearly passionate about his job, making it an unforgettable memory for our honeymoon.

So many suprises along the way. Rivers, galleys, ocean- sea views, mountains, farms, forests. Farm and native animals in there habitats. Great old architecture and new. Plenty of stops along the way. Craig our tour guide was so informative on Australian history. One great story teller also. Safety was also a priority on the tour. And all guests were looked after very well. Highly recommend the trip.

Our guide James was full of energy from the moment he welcomed us onto the bus, introducing the culture and scenery as he drove - and even singing to us, very well. At the scenic stops on the Ocean Road the guides took the initiative to take group photos for us, and after hikes they had hot tea, coffee and desserts ready to refuel. At the last stop we were lucky enough to catch a rainbow. Everything about the day was great and super lucky - thank you, James, for leading our travels.
Highly recommend the reverse Great Ocean Road tour. Guides Craig and Barry were great, the pace was relaxed, lunch was tasty, and we spotted wild koalas and kangaroos.

If you get Steve as your Great Ocean Road guide, count yourself lucky - brilliant playlist, sharp sense of humour, and a smooth ride the whole way. The Twelve (well, Seven) Apostles paired nicely with his classic rock soundtrack. He was also genuinely caring when my girlfriend wasn't feeling well, looking after her throughout. Epic views, epic tunes, and a top-shelf guide.
Every stop along the Great Ocean Road showed me things I'd never seen before - beautifully scenic. I couldn't catch every bit of commentary as my listening isn't great, but guide Kiwi was informative with huge knowledge, and the drive was comfortable. Really glad I joined this tour.

We did the Great Ocean Road tour and it was excellent - guide Kiwi Chris gave us a fantastic day, packed with information and great photo stops, and even helped us spot koalas and kangaroos. Very professional, with good sandwiches too. The anticlockwise route meant golden-hour coastline views later in the day and smaller crowds at each stop.

We took the reverse Great Ocean Road tour with around 16 others on board, and our driver-guide Jake was warm and easy to get along with. We spotted a koala, a wallaby and kangaroos, with plenty of time for photos at the major sights. Jake's commentary was both helpful and entertaining — highly recommend.

An absolutely electric Great Ocean Road tour that was far more than a scenic drive. Our guide was a legend - a walking encyclopedia of Aussie history with killer comic timing and a genuine love of nature, who brought every landmark to life. Seeing the Twelve Apostles in person was like stepping into a living painting, with perfectly curated photo stops. The lush rainforest walk and wildlife sightings of koalas and singing birds felt like a real nature documentary, and with breathtaking views, delicious food and great company, our group felt like family by the end of the day.

Great tour with lots of stops along the way. 12 Apostles viewing areas were fantastic. Our driver Kiwi was informative and entertaining. He worked hard to help us see as much wildlife and trail walks as possible.
This tour was really well put together — we drove to the Twelve Apostles through inland farmland, stopping at a bakery in Colac for breakfast, then took an optional 16-minute helicopter flight over the site which was worth every second. We also walked a beautiful rainforest trail, spotted koalas along the road, and finished with ice cream at a well-known spot in Apollo Bay before heading back to Melbourne. Guide Misty was kind, funny and informative, and driver Ben was really friendly too — a wonderful way to see the coast and inland scenery.

Fabulous tour!
We are just returning from a truly amazing experience with our guide Misty and driver Ben. This is a reverse tour to the 12 apostles site, a definite plus as we got there before the coastal tours, earlier in the day so the weather was just perfect as well and we had the place to ourselves. We added a helicopter ride to our tour and this was just great!
On our way to the 12 apostles we discovered the rural side of Victoria while traveling on the highway and then on country roads, which we loved. Our day trip included walks to beautiful viewpoints along the ocean, along a trail in the rainforest and on a beach. We had a koala in the wild stop and Misty kindly and expertly spotted three koalas for us. Very exciting experiences!
Did I mention we also had a chance to try Australian breakfast goodies at our breakfast stop in Colac, enjoyed a light lunch of sandwiches and fruit later and topped this with an afternoon ice cream stop at award winning Dolley’s in Apollo too!
All of this with super informative commentary and humor from Misty, a young woman so wonderful it pinches our heart to leave her… my husband and I can’t recommend this tour enough. This has been a memorable and fantastic experience we will remember for a very long time to come!

Enjoyed doing the Great Ocean Road in reverse as a day tour. Our guide Misty was both knowledgeable and entertaining with her commentary. There's a fair amount of time on the bus, but with plenty of stops at scenic spots, a nice short rainforest walk and some wildlife watching — a great way to fit in the road's highlights within a single day.
Fantastic day trip on the Great Ocean Road. Our guide Craig, with Barry the platypus mascot, collected us punctually from central Melbourne and we were off for the day. Craig kept us entertained with interesting facts throughout, and there were plenty of stops to take in the sights and stretch our legs. My favourite part was the 45-minute walk through the rainforest, where we even spotted a wild echidna. Highly recommend.

There were plenty of well-timed, enjoyable stops, and our guide Cory was fantastic — full of stories, keeping us entertained, and clearly knew the area well. Kiwi was an excellent guide, you could tell he loved what he does and wanted to make sure everyone had a fun trip. Lots of interesting historical knowledge of the region and fun facts about the plant and animal life. The tour covered a lot of ground, and I recommend doing the reverse direction tour if offered, helped to avoid the crowds.
Chris (Kiwi) was fantastic, with endless knowledge of the Great Ocean Road and every stop along the way. I'd highly recommend this one-day tour.

We came down from Sydney for a short break and joined the Great Ocean Road tour with our guide Cory, who made the day extra special. He packed in plenty of history and interesting facts, helped us spot wild koalas, and even threw in some poetry and a song. The helicopter ride was a fantastic bonus.

A full day out with our driver James, 'Wheels', who was really entertaining and kept things fun. The Twelve Apostles are genuinely beautiful and worth seeing. Bring a snack - there's a lot of walking and you'll get hungry on the way back.

We had a great day on the Apostles/Great Ocean Road tour. Our guide Matthew was hugely knowledgeable about the local area, wildlife and history, making it both educational and enjoyable, and happily answered every random question we threw at him while keeping the group comfortable. It was a long drive but we had good stops, including a lunch break in Apollo Bay where the ice cream hit the spot. Spotting a koala in the wild was a real highlight, and Matthew's stories about koala conservation made it extra special.
We did the Great Ocean Reverse day tour with Janet, a real trooper - loved her energy and how well she managed our group of around sixteen. Worth it!

The reverse tour is a fantastic idea - we arrived at the Twelve Apostles without the big crowds and got good photos and videos. It was a long day filled with good memories, and two thumbs up to our guide Matthew, who shared interesting information about each place and even served coffee, tea, milk and Tim Tams for our morning break at Colac Memorial Square. USB ports on the coach were a nice touch. Autopia is highly recommended.

I'd wanted to see the Great Ocean Road for years and finally booked this as a solo traveller - a great decision. James led a friendly group, sharing trivia and fun singalongs between stops, including spontaneous roadside stops to spot a sleeping koala or two. He gave lots of information about each destination and made them accessible, whether you wanted a gentle walk or a short, steep hike. I really enjoyed seeing both coastline and rainforest, with incredible views at each spot in a single day. Highly recommend!

Just finished the Great Ocean Road tour with Autopia and I'm blown away - easily the best thing we did in Melbourne. Our guide Mat was brilliant, driving for hours while keeping his energy up and sharing great stories about Melbourne's history. The day ran smoothly from start to finish. One tip: lunch is a basic sandwich and piece of fruit, so foodies might want to bring their own. Huge thanks to Mat - well worth booking.

Awesome tour - Misty, our guide, was the best. This was one of the best tours I've done in Australia. Misty was kind, knowledgeable and fun, keeping the group's vibe positive without rushing us at any stop, and we saw great wildlife - a wedge-tailed eagle, two koalas, seven kangaroos and an echidna. Really great day - Steve kept things fun and on schedule without stressing anyone. Much of the drive runs high above the ocean on a winding mountainside road, and he handled our large bus impressively. We saw five koalas and three kangaroos, a real highlight as a US visitor, and lunch was good too. I'd skip the Melba Gully stop (just a trail through greenery) in favour of Lorne Beach, which looked lovely as we passed. Great value overall.

Chris, aka Kiwi, is the best tour guide I've had, even outside Australia - friendly, knowledgeable about the tour and beyond, and still upbeat and sharp on the road even late in a long day. You can tell it's more than a job for him. The only tweak I'd suggest is a bit longer at the Apollo Bay dinner stop, maybe 45 minutes.
Did the Great Ocean Road tour in reverse. We'd done a different company's tour the day before, and Autopia's buses were noticeably cleaner and better maintained by comparison. Our guide Chris, known as Kiwi, was a wealth of knowledge and kept us entertained with history of every stop. Highly recommended - ask about his USB cable collection if you get him as a guide.

A great tour for learning about Australian topography and the history of the Great Ocean Road. Craig was a pro, sharing relevant info on the places, nature and animals, and made sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable. Fun, courteous, with tasty snacks, coffee and lunch. Booked through Viator and thoroughly enjoyed this tour to the Twelve Apostles (seven remain) and back along the historic Great Ocean Road, built by WWI veterans. Our guide James, aka Wheels, and his assistant were knowledgeable and full of stories. The Apostles were unforgettable even in cloudy weather, though I'd have liked more time there and less at the rainforest stop. James pointed out koalas and kangaroos along the drive. Push for more time at the Apostles if you can.
Took the Great Ocean Road tour with James and Ethan and it was fantastic - both knowledgeable, funny and entertaining for a full twelve hours. They took safety seriously, kept everyone engaged and comfortable, and even pulled over safely so we could spot kangaroos. James has a great singing voice too. Craig and Barry made our full-day Great Ocean tour a real experience for the senses, with exhilarating commentary on history, culture and wildlife. We stopped at many places, with the Twelve Apostles and Campbell National Park the highlights, and spotted koalas, kangaroos and plenty of birds. Even had a great music playlist along the way. Steve stood out, informative and entertaining. We visited some amazing sites which were all very photogenic. This has been one of the best tours we’ve been on during our holiday in Australia. We were able to see some wallabies, kangaroos and emus wondering in the wild.

A wonderful, comprehensive Great Ocean Road trip. The Melba Gully stop was special, with a wild koala sighting, and James was an entertaining, informative driver. The Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge were the highlights. Definitely recommend, but bring water and snacks as it's a long day.

This was a beautifully timed day trip offering stunning views both on and off the bus, and a nice mix of the coast and forest with a bit of wildlife sprinkled in. Steve was a lovely guide, very welcoming and fun! I hope you’re so lucky to ride with Steve on this trip.
Did the Great Ocean Road tour in reverse with our guide Misty, who was easy to talk to and happy to answer questions. We saw a lot in one day, which suits a tight schedule, though I'd recommend the two-day option or self-driving if you want to take it in properly. The road is winding, so bring travel sickness tablets if needed. A really good day with a brilliant guide.

“0 Reverse Great Ocean Road tour worked great for us”
The small group tour is the way to go. Doing it in reverse worked really well because we avoided the large tour buses going the opposite direction.
Our guide Joe is terrific.
Driving is smooth, no sudden stops or dangerous maneuvers.
Joe provided background info regarding the stops and area we drove through.
He gave us sufficient time at each stop to enjoy them.
He didn’t engage in small talk and no dad jokes which allowed us to listed to music while admiring the scenery.

Such an informative trip with truly stunning and amazing sights - I'd highly recommend it to anyone. We did the reverse route with Matt and, despite an early worry about the long journey, there was a lovely stop with coffee and biscuits and plenty of breaks throughout. The packed lunch was lovely (we ate ours in the rainforest), and although it's a long day it never felt like it, as Matt made the driving fun with music and lots of interesting information. The sights are spectacular and you get plenty of time at each. 10/10.
“If you have time do this tour”
Got off to a great start as I was first pickup of the day bang on time. After everyone was loaded up we were given the basic itinerary for the day and told how long different sections of the trip would be. We had plenty of time in different locations through the day and Craig the driver/guide (and Barry the platypus) were knowledgeable and engaging all day. We saw two koala at one of our stops and plenty of bird life as well. I was only in Melbourne 3.5 days but glad I spent one of them doing this tour as the scenery was magnificent

“Great ocean road reverse tour”
We did the reverse tour. I would suggest that the reverse tour should only be done in summer because the drive along the ocean road was mostly in the dark, so not seen, which was a pity.
Our guide was Kiwi Chris and his knowledge of the area and its history is incredible. His commentary was informative and witty throughout the tour.
We did the tour on my birthday and Kiwi Chris shouted us morning tea, which was a very nice bonus.
We chose to do the optional helicopter tour of the 12 Apostles and it was well worthwhile and the best part of the day.
Only one little negative: sandwiches and fruit for lunch were not accompanied by anything to drink and there was no water or liquid of any kind available to have with the sandwich.

Our guide & driver, Chris P (Kiwi) was amazing and such a knowledgeable person! He told us so much about the history of Melbourne, the history of the Shipwreck Coast and the local fauna of Victoria. He even brought us to find koala bears nesting in the trees above the road.
He kept the whole group running like a tightly run ship and we managed to stay ahead of the crowds and he even squeezed in some extra attractions. Excellent guide overall.

Great trip with Craig & Barry! The stops were well timed so that you don’t end up waiting around, and yet you have more than enough time to see everything. Did the reverse tour, starting at 12 Apostoles and avoiding the crowds there. Amazing views. Didn’t see any koalas, which was a bummer, but hey, you always take that risk when you want to see them in the wild. Barry was fantastic the entire time, very funny, friendly and helpful. Nice light lunch at the forest. All in all, I had a fantastic day and highly recommend this tour!

“Long day but worth it”
The trio was good but the first coffee stop and the lunch stop were too short. By the time the food was there, you had almost no time to eat. It is a long day so I understand that it’s difficult to make the stops longer in order to do all the stops. Maybe they could advise to take a packed lunch or morning tea.
The guide was really friendly and helpful.
The bus was very uncomfortable and not made for people with longer legs.

“Reverse Great Ocean Road Tour”
We decided to do the reverse Great Ocean Road tour which was a great way to avoid crowds and do the longest part of the drive at the start. There is a nice variety of scenery and stops. Our tour guide Misty was very knowledgable, had great taste in music and made the day fly by!
Although there is a fair bit of driving the seats were comfortable and the smaller group size meant little waiting time at each stop to depart.

Fantastic day out from start to finish 22/09/24 The bus was lovely clean and comfortable. Our driver/guide Jordan was brilliant, very professional, started on time and kept the trip moving very punctually all through. I booked this reverse-direction 12 Apostles tour with barely a day's notice and I'm glad I did. Guide Chris, aka Kiwi, exceeded every expectation — full of laughs and great commentary, and he ran a tight schedule so nobody was ever late back to the bus. He even carried spare essentials and printouts for anyone caught out. The bus itself had big windows, roomy seats, free wifi and USB charging, plus decent sandwiches. A great Melbourne day trip — pack a camera, raincoat and hair tie for the wind.

This was a wonderful Great Ocean Road and Rainforest Tour, and great value for what you pay. The bus turned up right on time, driven by our charismatic guide Joe, who was helpful and informative all day. We had ample time at every stop to take in the coastline properly, which took the stress out of a drive I hadn't managed to do myself in years thanks to fatigue. The whole day was an amazing experience and I saw far more than expected. From Melbourne we went to the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge - both unbelievably beautiful - then on to wildlife spots to see koalas and kangaroos and a short walk in an Australian rainforest, with a stop at Apollo Bay for shopping or the beach. Our guides Chris and James did a really great job with lots of good information, and the timings at each attraction were perfect. Highly recommended for making the most of the day.

We had a great time on our tour. Our guide, James Streets, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and kept the whole experience entertaining, and we got to see so many amazing sights. The Twelve Apostles are breathtaking, and James even knew where a family of koalas had been staying so we could see them in the wild. The reverse route allowed a longer, sleep-friendly stretch in the morning - a great bonus given the early start. Melba Gully rainforest, Apollo Bay, Loch Ard Gorge and the rest of the Great Ocean Road were all awesome. Highly recommend.

A great way to explore the Great Ocean Road's history, watching koalas munching on eucalyptus along the way. The day took us from Melbourne's Immigration Museum out to the 12 Apostles and more, all in comfort with our guide Kiwi.

They were knowledgeable and the day ran to time, giving us a good amount of time at the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the other stops with plenty of chance for photos and few crowds. We did the Great Ocean Road reverse day tour. Guide Chris was great and jolly, with sarcastic jokes and plenty of history at each stop. It's a fairly laid-back tour, better suited to nature lovers. Food was okay, though I'd suggest bringing extra snacks if travelling with kids.

Our guide and driver on the Great Ocean Road tour today was one of the friendliest around. My son fell asleep and woke up partway through the trip to Melba Gully, upset he'd missed things, so the guide personally took him for a walk through the forest. We're so grateful as parents. He was very kind, the tour was full of fun and good music, informative about the itinerary, and he looked after us well. Highly recommended, we'll definitely do this again.

Booked the Great Ocean Road Without the Crowds tour, a great experience with guide Aidan Jones. He brought energy and enthusiasm for Melbourne, shared great stories, and we learned a lot of history along the sights. The mini coach was comfortable and the pace was just right, with enough food and bathroom stops. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see the GOR and 12 Apostles in a day. Started at 7.35am, back in the city by 7pm, thanks Autopia and Aidan.
“Brilliant Tour of The Great Ocean Road”
This was the greatest tour I have been on thus far. It was really great to be able to take in the scenery of 'The Great Ocean Road' without having to focus on the road.
We stopped at 'Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery' which was an unexpected stop, but quite an enjoyable surprise. I definitely recommend trying out a shot of melted chocolate for $1.50!
As the tour progressed our amazing tour guide Graham (or Gray Gray) kept us entertained and informed about different things - sharing his specific knowledge too.
The benefit of tours like this is that you get to see and experience things you otherwise would have overlooked exploring these places yourself. They give you a good taste, and now I would quite like to drive it myself at some point in the future.
The highlight for me, without a doubt was 'The Twelve Apostles' - what a breathtaking view, especially as the sun begins to set.
The whole tour was a delight, and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone!

We didn’t have great weather which was such a shame as I think the views would’ve been even better but it was great to see so much of “real” Australia. An early start and a long day but the sandwiches for lunch were really lovely and there were plenty of comfort breaks.

Great way to see The Great Ocean Road and Loch Ard Gorge. Would have never known it was there on my own to see! Stops were good and well timed out with a lengthy walk in the middle to help break up the day. I was picked up in Geelong, so the day wasn't too long for me, but from Melbourne I could see it being a long one. Bring your snacks, games and tunes for the ride and make some new friends. Jordan was organized, clear with instructions and gave enough info about what you were seeing to keep it interesting. Overall, I would recommend!

Maj was an exceptional driver and guide. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the folklore stories during the trip, many with a historical reference. The great ocean tour is highly recommended especially if you are not from the UK or Australia and have trepidation about driving a rental car. We spotted kangaroos, a koala bear, and many native birds. The coast line is truly breathtaking. This reverse tour was also enjoyable because we did everything that most tour companies do from the opposite direction, meaning fewer crowds. We enjoyed stopping at a café and local ice cream parlour as well. everything was beautifully

Had an absolute blast on the tour with our driver/tour guide Rhett (pronounced like 'red')! Extremely knowledgeable in Australian history and Aboriginal culture, and was a delight to hear from him along the way. Learnt lots about evolution (from dogs to seals, hippos to whales), eucalyptus trees (especially the blue-gum species), including his own favourite book that he's obsessed with: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. Definitely worth trying out this tour and an absolute pleasure to travel under Rhett's guidance. For those worried about not seeing any wildlife, rest assured - we saw 3 koalas and many beautiful birds! Rhett is super considerate and a witty guy who also walked with us at every landmark spot, great to have his company. 100/10 would recommend!

The tour was fantastic. So many beautiful sights to see! We even got to see a koala in the wild. Wes told lots of stories and taught us a lot about the area and some about the history of Australia. We were lucky to have a small group of only 10 on our bus, but that is not the norm.
The wind and the chilly (sometimes rainy) weather did not affect our trip at all. Dress warmly if you go in the winter; it can be quite windy near the sea. I was glad I wore boots because it was a bit muddy at some stops. I also brought flip flops to be able to put my feet in the ocean and that was fun too. We had a great day!

We loved our day on the Great Ocean Road led by the hilarious and welcoming host-storyteller Daniel T. The day was filled with variety, sharing, information, wit and astonishing natural beauty. This is a great time, and you learn. Daniel was a memorable guide. One of the best. Go!

“Spectacular Experience”
The Great Ocean Road is definitely listed as one of Australia's top attractions for a reason. The small group environment on this tour was a great way to see it in a personalized setting. Our tour guide Ezra was fantastic and kept us informed and entertained throughout the day. This tour is a long day starting at 7am and returning back to Melbourne at 9pm. Having a great guide made all the difference to keep the energy. In addition to beautiful seascapes, we saw an abundance of wildlife including wild koalas, parrots, and even an echidna waddling along on one of the trails.

Steve the driver was brilliant, made a long day enjoyable, after telling others to make sure they were back in time to move on to next stop, had to wait for people to return , which he managed well ,( I would have left them) trip was long but got to see many things in one day.

Scott was amazing. Even in the morning he has alot of energy. He's unique in his own way, he says what he thinks, and he's an honest man. You can tell that he loves history, and he shares good knowledge and experience with the tour group. He's a safe driver as well. He slowed down while it rained and urged us to use our seatbelts. The tour wouldn't have been as great without him. Good one mate.

Had an amazing day visiting the Great Ocean Road with a small group. Visited beautiful places, and learned a lot thanks to our tour guide Lewis! Liked the fact that it was reversed because we avoided big crowds, and the drive back home was short. Would definitely recommend!

“Just Do It!”
Totally impressed! This tour, with Wildlife, lasted 14 hours and it was fabulous from start to finish. From morning tea at Lake Colac to a beautiful sunset at Bells Beach. And everything in between was fantastic. It was a long yet relaxing day. Our tour guide was Andrew and he was intelligent, knowledgeable, interesting and a really nice person. Well worth doing this trip it was brilliant value for money.
“Beautiful Scenery-but...”
We thought it smart to book the reverse tour so as to avoid traffic. Don't believe it was worth it. Travel time to the first scenic destination was at least 3 hours of a boring route. I believe enjoying the actual ocean views during the tour's beginning would have been a better start to the trip and built up excitement for what was to be experienced at each later stop-culminating, rather than starting with the 12 Apostles. Our driver played hard rock music very loudly during the entire drive. It grated on the nerves. I contrast the music selection to that played on other tours which was both contemporary and fun to listen to. Our first destinations visited were of course, stunning and we enjoyed those stops. Our drive adjacent to the ocean didn't come until the end of the tour day. By that time, many guests had nodded off.
Perhaps the tour organizer included the rain forest tour and the stop at the WW1 Memorial to make customers feel as though they received their tour money's worth. However, both could have been omitted and an earlier arrival back in Melbourne appreciated. Certainly a drive past the Memorial with respectful commentary provided by the guide would have been sufficient. To summarize, we would have preferred the boring trip route at the end of a shorter day.
“Great way to spend a day”
This tour was well planned getting us to some of Australia's unique and beautiful sights. The Great Ocean Road was a beautiful ride with stops at the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and some quaint towns along the way. It was a long day that did not seem long because our guide Richard kept us informed of what we were seeing and the history and important information about the places. We stopped several times along the way to stretch our legs, get something to eat, see the sights, and find wildlife. We also had a great group to travel with who came from several countries and were different ages, but all good traveling companions. One of the best tours I have ever been on.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the day trip”
I thoroughly enjoyed the day trip I did with Lost in Australia last year. The route was perfect for what I wanted to see and I didn't feel too rushed considering how much had to fit into one day. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and lucked into a fantastic up close experience with koalas. The tour guide did a great job. I would highly recommend it to friends and use the company to go on another tour in future.
“Incredible sights, well run tour”
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The scenery is breathtaking. The tour was well run, we were picked up at the agreed place at the agreed time. A sandwich was provided for lunch and there was water on tap in the bus. The tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The weather was fantastic, I would not like to have done this in the rain. We were impressed by the roadside toilet/picnic facilities provided in Australia, they are very geared for tourists. My only complaint is about the bus. We sat right at the back and the suspension kept on bottoming out on the bumpy Great Ocean road. Apart from that, I would highly recommend this tour.

Bells", and a surf music medley in the vicinity of the surfing beaches, and "My Heart Will Go

The Great Ocean Road is probably one of the most stunning road trips I have ever done.
We had a rented car and stopped at every recommended stop. Parked our vehicle and walked down to every stopping point on the Great Ocean Road starting at the 12 Apostles, which was a busy spot. The rest of the stops were just as stunning and worth the time and a lot less busy. Had no idea this would be such an amazing trip.

Our guide Darrell and this tour group was amazing and I would suggest this tour to everyone I know! So much fun and it created so many great memories! Its so smart to do the reverse tour because we missed all the crowds and I feel like we saw so much more this way!

The tour was fine, I spend a lot of time in queue up to helipoter ride then no time in walking tour at Twelve Apostles. And the lunch was pizza for me not much choices. Anyway the tour still worth 4 score.
“Great Ocean Road Tour was Great”
This one day tour was one of the best. It was a very long day of about 15 hours but with many stops along the way. We saw koalas, many different species of colorful birds, the famed 12 Apostles rock formations, and excellent countrysides and seasides en route. Lunch and dinner were included in the tour. Anyone in the Melbourne area for more than a day should consider taking this fully packed one day tour.

I went on the one-day Great Ocean Road tour. Peter was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and funny. I enjoyed his commentary during the drive. He knew when to talk and when to turn on the music and let people sit back and relax. We made several stops at scenic overlooks along the way. We stopped at the Koala cafe where we saw a koala sleeping in a tree and had several birds perch on us. It made for some great pictures. We also stopped off at a rainforest, the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and the London bridge. I thought that the time allotted at each stop was perfect. Not too short and not too long. There was also lunch included in our tour which was at a restaurant. There were several meal choices available. They also picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was really nice. Overall, I definitely felt like I got my money's worth and was very happy that I chose to go on the tour.

make sure you do this trip with a small group instead of the usual big bus way & sit on the left side to catch the best scenes.
but do remember to be prepared for a long day , some rain & pretty cold weather .

“Best tour I've ever done - 1 day Great Ocean Road”
The 1 day Great Ocean road tour was fantastic! The tour guide, Teagan, was really great and very friendly. She stopped at all of the sights and gave us ample time to explore. We even made a few unexpected stops... One to see wild kangaroos! The bus/van was clean and everyone was really nice. The included lunch was sandwiches and she tried to cater to everyone's food needs, but we stopped in a little township that had other food options (Apollo Bay), so that was nice. It was a lovely day and I would do it again in a second, given the opportunity. Thanks Teagan!!
