Such an incredible experience! Sleeping in the swag under the stars was magical and comfy. We did so much and saw so many amazing things and beautiful landscapes in a good amount of time. I had a great time on the Uluru 3 night tour with our fantastic guide Luna. She turned this group of 12 internationals into a family. Laughter, shared friendship and her knowledge of the area made every day interesting. The 3 different hikes were all fun but Kings Canyon was the highlight for me.

We did this as a family, with teenagers, parents and grandparents, in a group of 22, and we loved it. Our guide Adam took great care of us and we made lovely discoveries and met lovely people. We all came away smiling.

A great family experience of unique landscapes and culture, with plenty of shared moments. Sleeping in a swag on the ground under the stars, helping with dinner and getting to know the other 22 people in our group were all part of it. Our guide Lorrie was very well prepared and constantly attentive, and even brought ice sheets to the water on the bus in 45 degree heat. On our transfer to Alice Springs, Sharnie gave us a lovely drive with stops for ice cream, coffee and the centre of Australia.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip, though not a luxury sit-back-and-relax holiday. Expect heat, very early sunrise starts and plenty of flies, so a fly net is a must. Guide Lorrie was outstanding, with warmth, humour and real knowledge, and the scenery, hikes and insight into Aboriginal culture were all superb. Doing at least one night in a swag is well worth it, and plenty of water is essential, with three litres required for the Kings Canyon hike in peak heat.

Our guide Joey was brilliant. An old school expert who was encyclopedic on aboriginal culture, geology, history,trees ,plants, bush tucker etc..a great guy who had to do far too much guiding, driving and cooking.
Swag sleeping can be tough, the tents are more comfortable. Uluru camp is good and well maintained but kings canyon camp was not....dirty and very neglected.

Me and my friend did the 4 day/3 night trip and explored the heart of Australia. We. visited Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon and honestly, it was one of the best trips I’ve ever done. The landscapes out there are unreal.
Our guides, Tye and Simon, were absolute legends. They shared so many stories about the land and the Anangu culture, and made the whole trip fun and relaxed. They were super funny as well! Watching the sunset over Uluru with a snack in hand felt like a dream haha, and the sunrise walk around Uluru the next morning was just as magical.
The hikes at Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon were amazing (and definitely worth the early starts!). We slept in an eco-tent and later in a swag (we wanted to experience this and they have extra swags). It was so cool because we slept under a sky full of stars, which was really unique and it was not even cold!
The trip was super well organised. We had good food (wraps, curry, pasta), the vibes in the group were great, and it was the right mix of adventure and chill moments. If you ever get the chance to visit the Red Centre, do it. Thanks again ATA!

Destination unique. Group with nice people, through camping and eating together and cleaning up afterwards you also feel connected quickly. Deployment of staff improbably high! Unfortunately, the vehicles were poorly maintained, with many defects.

The tour went 3 days/2 nights.
From Alice Springs the journey took a good 5 hours. Then a hike at Kata Tjuta, then sunset at Uluru and off to camp.
We had the swag (no tent). A kind of big sleeping bag, i.e. we slept on the floor under the starry sky. First night to get used to, second night is great. Starry sky, full moon with us, really great!
Second day up very early, sunrise at Uluru and hike around it (about 4h). Again and again stops for lookouts. 3 hours drive to Camp 2 (with pool)
Day three early get up again and hike at Kings Canyon, then lunch and 5 hours drive back.
It was a great combination, we would do it again.You just have to be aware that there is no great comfort and you have to drive a long time.
But our guide Simon was great!!! He made the trip so fun that the driving time passed quickly!
We joined the three-day outback tour covering Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon and it was unforgettable. Our guide Elyse was outstanding, handling the driving, the itinerary, the cooking and sharing a great deal of knowledge about the region. We booked the 3-day Red Centre tour with Adventure Tours Australia, including overnight stays in 2-person tents. From the organization to the group size and daily activities, everything was perfectly arranged. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking – definitely our highlight in Australia and exactly what we had imagined.
We also really enjoyed the great atmosphere within the group and especially with our guide Mitch. He shared so many interesting stories and had impressive knowledge about every place we visited. Thanks to his friendly, funny and charming personality, we’re giving this tour a full 5 out of 5 stars!
One thing that could be improved for future travelers: the mattresses and covers in the campsites – especially at the Wayoutback Camping Site where we stayed for two nights – really need some attention. They were in poor condition and not very pleasant to sleep on. Of course, this wasn’t Mitch’s fault and only partly under Adventure Tours’ control, but it’s something that should definitely be upgraded.

The swags are pretty comfy and I love sleeping under the stars.
The tour includes long bus rides, but as long as the aircon is working it is nice to see the vegetation and landscape changing or taking a nap.
The walks made for awesome views and Asha made sure we were finished before the heat set in and were always hydrated and had some snacks.
If you want to experience the Outback on a budget, this is the tour to go.
Would do it again.

Shearna was our tourguide and I have never had a tourguide who was so enthusiastic and lovely! She was very knowledgeable and worked very hard to give us a pleasant time. We sure had a special trip, as we were in the 1% of all tourists who got to see waterfalls on Uluru because of the extreme rainfall we had on the first two days. Sleeping on a campground sure is less luxurious than staying in a hotel, but that definitely made the experience more special and cool.

Had an amazing experience with Adventure Tours. Despite the weather at night not being great for swag camping we got shelter when needed. Our tour guide Simon was excellent. Our first camp site had a beautiful look out point of the Uluru and the second camp site had much better facilities. Kings Canyon walk was fantastic and really enjoyed walking through Kata Tjuṯa too - we learned a lot about the history of the Anangu culture. We did have a large group (31) but depending on how many nights people had booked we lost a few each day until we had 14 for the full tour, it was definitely more sociable with a smaller group especially as a solo traveller, majority of guests were couples.

We had such a great time with our guide Ellyse. She taught us a lot about the culture, wildlife and vegetation. We had so much fun and she made us laugh all the time. There were two storms but everything was handled so well. We ran through the rain to save out sleeping bags which was so fun. Ellyse even brought us to the sunset at Uluru again (although it's not the standard program to do it twice) for the last night because we still had time. We had a trivia on the bus, some other games and the best playlist ever, singing along to the music and having the best time ever. We saw wildlife (dingoes, spiders, camels, horses, birds, ...) which was super cool. Sleeping under the stars was amazing and we got up to watch the sunset from camp on the last day. We always started really early which totally paid of because we could avoid most of the heat. The base walk around Uluru as well as the Rim walk on Kings Canyon were absolutely amazing! Such great views!! We could often choose between different walks so there's something for everyone. For food, there were always vegetarian options as well. Our group was also really cool, we got along very well, helped each other and had heaps of fun. 10/10. Definitely recommend taking this tour, it was amazing!!

Both were Awesomeeee and very enthusiastic. They were very inclusive and the dad jokes were flowing!!! At the start we were all gullible and fell for the humour but by the end, we made him work extra hard to fool us!!! ;)))). He had super knowledge of the region and there wasn’t any question he couldn’t answer.
Food was super and snacks kept everyone going. I was impressed by the food variety and the effort put into the cooking. Thank you also to hostess with the mostess Antja who cooked us a lovely welcoming dinner and delish pancakes!
I enjoyed the relaxing wake up call music that it is now my morning alarm but not sure it will give the same vibe back in Melbourne!!

I recently did the Rock the Red Centre three day, two night trip with our guide Mishka West. He was inclusive, passionate and knowledgeable about Central Australia - the landmarks, the flora and the fauna. He encouraged questions and if he didn't know the answer he would find it by the end of the day. He involved us in meal preparation and setting up camp, which built friendships, and regularly checked in with everyone. One of the best planned tours I have been on.
We took the three day Uluru trip and it was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Sophie, along with trainees Elyse and Asha, made it a ten out of ten. Their knowledge of Aboriginal culture, bush food and medicine and the surrounding area was excellent. The camping was great and sleeping in swags gave us the best stars I have ever seen. The facilities and food were good considering how remote it is.

Sleeping in swags under the stars was a highlight— even spotting the Milky Way! The itinerary was well-paced, allowing plenty of time to soak in the stunning scenery, from sunrise at Uluru to the breathtaking views at Kings Canyon. The food was great, and everything was well-organized, making for a stress-free and enjoyable trip.

We have just finished our Uluru adventure and it was the best four days! The tour was incredible and we were able to see so much of the outback in spite of the hot temperatures (all of the walks were planned meticulously and with consideration of the heat - prepare yourself for some early mornings). The camping experience itself was so fun and we really enjoyed camp life with our group it was great. We had paid to stay in the tents which we did for two nights but on the third night decided sleep outside under the stars and we are so glad that we did! Would thoroughly recommend for anyone considering this trip.
Last but not least, our tour guide Ryan was absolutely fantastic! The best tour guide ever! He made our experience of Uluru and we are so grateful to him. He was the perfect mixture of enthusiastic, fun, knowledgable and made sure we fulfilled our itinerary without feeling like we were being kept to a schedule (which is tricky to do when you are fitting a lot in). Anyone who experiences this without Ryan as their tour guide is missing out (sorry not sorry!)!
“Highly Recommended”
Absolutely loved our time with Ryan on our tour!! We had never done overnight tours like this before but we really bonded with everyone in our group. Ryan was really knowledgeable and friendly, the meals were great and all the activities were well timed. He seriously worked so hard during the whole tour to make it the best for us. Most of the walking is done in the mornings so you avoid the heat and you get plenty of time to do them so you’re not pressured to walk fast. Sleeping in a swag is fun and actually quite comfy once you get settled. The views of the stars make up for thinking about whether or not you’re sat on an ant hill. Showers and toilets at the Yulara camp were clean, plenty of them too. The driving was pretty well broken up, plenty of toilet breaks and not in the bus for too long at a time.
My only feedback would be to make it clear on the website to say that you don’t need to bring water bottles with you as you can buy them at service stations on the tour (you must have 3L capacity each for the walks). We bought quite expensive water bottles before and then realised we had to buy more there anyway. And on the website it doesn’t mention that you might want to bring a swimsuit as there are opportunities for swimming (depending on timing).
Highly recommend doing this tour, once in a lifetime experience for us! Great views of Uluru, Kata Tjuṯa and Kings Canyon that I’ll never forget. Thank you Ryan for a great time!

It was a great experience helped massively by Tye the tour guide who not only was friendly and funny, but also very knowledgeable about the area and had an answer for every single question we had. The camping was pretty basic which added to the experience in a way for me - although I was one of the lucky ones who got a tent rather than a sleeping bag outside. The temperature was very hot this time of year with some people really struggling but Tye made sure to bring some to the medical centre. I would recommend flying into Ayres rock airport rather than Alice springs to avoid a 4+ hour bus journey - ayres rock airport is right beside everything.

I was on the 3 night Uluru tour with our lovely tour guide Meg. From pick up to drop off this tour was an amazing experience and if I had to do it again I would book the same without a second thought. Meg has been an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge of the places, plants and indigenous people, which she was sharing with us. She took perfect care of us, altered the plan according to our needs and the weather conditions and made sure that all of us had a great time. Considering the tour itself, the days were sometimes really packed, but it was absolutely worth it!! It included all the things I wanted to see and was set up really nicely!

“3 day Uluru - Adventure, Culture & Stunning Landscapes”
Earlier this month, I went on the 3 Night Uluru Adventure starting and finishing in Yulara. It was a wonderful experience that allowed enough time to explore the main attractions (Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta) along with a spare afternoon/evening for an additional activity of your choice (self organised and funded). If you're interested in the workshops/acitivies around the area I would recommend staying an extra day or so.
This tour is perfect for solo travelers, as it’s easy to make friends along the way.
I slept in a swag, which was a unique and enjoyable experience. Just keep in mind that you won’t get much sleep due to the early starts to catch the sunrise and avoid the heat during hikes. We were fortunate with the weather during this time of year (early October); it was neither too hot nor too cold at night, and there weren’t many flies.
Our tour guide, Renee, was fabulous—energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about the culture and history of the region. She went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of.
The only pitfall of this tour was some miscommunication regarding daylight saving time, which resulted in incorrect pickup times, lunch arrangements, and a few accommodation issues. Improved communication from the reservations team would definitely enhance the overall experience. Despite this minor setback, the adventure was still incredibly rewarding and exceeded my expectations.

My friend and I did the three day, two night camping trip. Sophie was our guide and she was amazing! She was super friendly and took the time to get to know everyone over the trip.
Sophie super knowledgeable about the lands we stood on, sharing stories, the aboriginal language and interesting facts. She answered any questions we had. We really felt like we experienced the diversity of the culture.
We saw Kata Tjuta during the day, Uluru for sunset and sunrise the next morning and hiked Kings Canyon on our final day. Sophie ensured we were always safe and comfortable.
Our favourite part was seeing the sunrise at Uluru. We 100% recommend this tour and Sophie!

Incredible trip with a nice group of travellers from everywhere and our fantastic guide Libby. Libby not only aced all the logistics and shared her extensive knowledge on the history, culture, but also botany of the place (and was so patient and cheerful) - she also took us to chase waterfalls when it rained on Uluru and made last minute adjustments to adapt to the weather, which all turned out absolutely perfect.

“Camp and hike in Uluru without worrying thanks to our tour guide”
Looking through the Ayers Rock resort options, it all felt a bit too sterile for such a marvelous wonder. I was looking for a trip where I can do the base camp walk, was more in tune with the natural beauty of Uluru, and be able not to worry about booking every part of the trip. This tour hit all three points. Such an amazing time. It was also more reasonable than staying at the resorts. Definitely for the crowd that wants to do more hiking. We had a group of 24 people of 20-60 year olds from solo travelers, to couples and families with adult children. Our tour guide, Libbi, was amazing tour guide extraordinaire. She woke us up with a smile to catch the early sunrise, drove us safely across the outback as we get to check out kings canyon 3 hours away, organized the group to prep and then cooked yummy meals for us, and then led us on hikes while stopping every so often to give us nuggets of facts.
I would definitely recommend this for those looking for a camping alternative. More fun that way!
You can choose between a tent or an outdoor sleeping bag with coverages called a swag. The tent are prebuilt and I found the beds comfy. Warm showers available in communal sections of the camp. Simple but allows you to enjoy the nature more.

Fantastic opportunity to see the big 3 from Alice Springs! Seeing rain on the rock was just a bonus on top of a fun trip with like minded people and our lovely guide Hunter. Getting to sleep under the stars and see the centre in its different moods was very special. Hunter was very informative and did a wonderful job bringing the group together. For future guests make sure you pack something warm and bring snacks for the drives

We had the best guide Libbi as she drove and showed us around Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon in 3 days! Libbi was friendly and fun, and told us much about the geology, history and cultural significance of each place. Oh and hands down, best damper I've had! We opted for tents which was comfortable and the facilities at the campsites were clean and decent. Loved the sunrise base walk at Uluru but my favourite views would have to be the starry skies at night in the outback. Would definitely reccomend!

My trip to Uluru/Kata Tjuta/Kings Canyon with Adventure Tours was incredible! I had the most amazing time exploring this beautiful landscape and learning about the Indigenous culture and the rock formations. And in just 3 days we saw so much and it didn’t feel rushed at all.
Our tour guide Hunter was awesome- he was very knowledgeable, made everyone feel comfortable and included and informed, made sure we all remained respectful on our visits to sacred areas, made us laugh (bar the poor dad jokes haha), made great food (chicken curry was a highlight), and just made the trip so much fun. I’m amazed he managed to keep the energy of the whole group up even for those long drives and the 5am morning rises. 10/10

I had such an amazing time doing the 3 Day Rock the Center Tour, starting in Yulara and ending in Alice springs. Our tour guide (Captain Vegemite was the best. His knowledge about this area and aboriginal history/culture seems to be infinite. At first I was a bit skeptical about sleeping in a swag outside, especially in winter time, but it was so amazing! The sleeping bags kept me warm throughout the night (pro tip: bring a hot water bottle for maximum comfort). You could see many stars and a beautiful full moon.
I would absolutely do it again and recommend it to everyone.

Great tour for people who want to see the main attractions (and plus) in the Red Center, cruising a little differently than most of the tourists.
As a big plus, our group had Troyes, a really enthousiastique, knowledgeable, kind and fun guide. He enjoyed sharing his expertise on the land, geologie and the aboriginal culture, which he knows especially well. Going beyond what one could expect from a guide, he was eager to involve everybody of our multicultural groupe, creating a great experience!

Although It was early in the morning because we wanted to watch the sunrise, everything was already set and done so we could have breakfast. What an experience. Our guide Betty opened our eyes to the culture and wisdom behind Uluru, which made it far more humbling, and it helps that she cooks a great curry and bolognese. I will be recommending this trip to friends - three days of camping was the perfect amount of time to see it all without rushing, and sleeping in a swag in the middle of the outback is something everyone should do at least once.

Booked our trip via Lost in Australia. 2 nights, 3 days pick up from Uluru airport and ending in Alice springs. This trip was an amazing experience. It was an adventure with a fantastic group of people and an excellent outback guide -Libbi. We all got a real taste of the “outback”. Reviewing our trip led by Libbi - who worked really hard. She made the trip fun and led it brilliantly. We were constantly kept informed about everything surrounding us and saw lots! Her timing to everything was well planned. Every trip was made at the right time avoiding crowds, avoiding the high heat on the more challenging ways and seeing sunrise and sunset in good time. This trip brought together a group of people who weren’t all known to each other to make it an experience of a lifetime with Libbi leading us all. I did the option of starting the tour in Uluru and then finished it in Alice Springs for a total of 2 nights out in a swag camping. I really loved my time with lots of hiking, watching the sunset of Uluru, the sunrise walk around the base of Uluru was exceptional. Really enjoyed watching the sunset at the Station the second night too.
Betty our guide was excellent - she took her job of telling us more about the Anangu people and culture very seriously and helped us understand the importance of where we were. She also facilitied us all cooking and cleaning together which helped you feel more like a group of friends camping, instead of on a tour. We had a fun time watching the sunset and sitting around the campfire with a couple beers (if you wanted) on the second night. The Canyon Rim walk was also great. Overall highly recommend. If I was to choose again I'd probably choose to do the Uluru pick up and drop off, as it gives you an extra night to do activities and saves you several hours of extra driving!

“Just the best tour out there”
I had the pleasure to be guided by Lorrie and Tye in this fantastic tour.
The experience was just awesome! Lorrie is a fantastic guide and is super nice, has always lots of fun facts and details for you. Tye was also there and helped making the atmosphere even funnier and nicer.
We had a rather small group of different age and nationality and we could get along extremely well and manage to get the maximum out of the tour.
I joined for just 2 days and 1 night, and could enjoy the Kata Tjuta Walpe gorge walk and the Uluru sunset aperitivo on the first day. The second day was just perfect, roaming around the Uluru base walk and the Anunu cultural centre. I also could experience a night in the traditional swag (thank you Tye)!
In addition, they could leave me directly at the Connellan Airport where I had my flight back to Europe.
Definitely the best tours you can get around there, I wish I could have done the 4 days tour (which was unfortunately already fully booked)
“Amazing 3 days”
We had an amazing experience and enjoyed our 3 days in the outback. Lorrie and Mishka were super cool. Eventhough it was Lorries first trip as the leading guide, she did very well and spotted a lot of wild animals. Everything was well organized and every question got an answer;) And cooking together was so much fun!

The 3-Day-Tour was amazing. We had a really great time on the campsite, in the van and on the hikes. Our tourguides Lorrie & Mishka were competent and very well organized. We liked that Lorrie stopped for animals and/or pictures now and then.
What we want to highlight is the great music choice in the morning. Who doesn’t want to wake up to the sound of Hogwarts…
“Amazing outback camping experience!”
We had an amazing 3 days on the Rock the centre tour from Alice springs!
Ryan was an amazing guide and he made sure everyone was having a great time, including little bonus’ here and there and also providing local knowledge on some of the sights during both the drives and the hikes.
He made sure we were all fed with great meals, and was able to make last minute changes dependant on conditions to ensure the best possible trip.
Be prepared this is more like a scout camp rather than an all inclusive holiday which we enjoyed and it made connecting and befriending all the fellow campers easier and not intimidating.
Expect lots of flies and bugs but that’s part of the experience! And plenty of places to purchase fly nets.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone from backpackers to solo travellers, we made some great friends and have taken back lots of memories from the trip!

I did the 3 day tour starting and finishing in Alice Springs. Mishka was an excellent tour guide, he had great enthusiasm and knowledge and was very attentive to everyone’s needs.
If you are looking for luxury accommodation this probably isn’t for you but if you want a fun camping experience this tour is a really good option.

The 3 day camping tour was amazing! Our guide Mishka was knowledgeable, funny and took really good care of us.
The itinerary was really well organised. Getting up early so you don’t have to walk in the midday heat and water was available at all times during the trip, so no worries about that! Occasionally there were snacks handed out to everyone which was really nice and so were the meals!
Sleeping under the stars was unforgettable as was the sunset and sunrise over Uluru and the rest of the tour. A remarkable trip in the middle of Australia I would say :)

“Rock to Rock”
Three of our family went on the Rock to Rock tour with Adventure (3 days, 2 nights. As a couple with 25 yr old daughter we all had a fabulous time and were able to see lots in 3 days. Meg did a great job driving us out to Kings Canyon for the night and back to see Uluru and the Kata Tjuta the next day. She was very friendly had lots of interesting facts to tell us. She always kept good time. So we were at sunset and sunrise in plenty of time. Food was great and we had plenty of it. Champagne and nibbles at sunset were great. That’s all you need on a cold night. Went back to camp for dinner when we were ready. Not rushed at all.
Only negative for me was that there was no lights in the tents at Kings Canyon (should’ve taken a head light which was advised). The 2nd nights accommodation at Yulara was much more comfortable. Being August both nights were very cold. We bought their sleeping bags which were ok but we slept in our clothes as well! Overall a great trip and would recommend it as a way to see everything in a short time. Lots of fun. Thanks Meg

“One of the highlights of our trip to Australia!”
My husband and I took the 3 day original tour from Alice Springs in late March and absolutely loved it. Our guide Maddy was excellent! She made everything feel relaxed and doable even for those of us over 60! It is a busy trip so the hours of driving were helpful. The meals were all good and the timing of our hikes were perfect for the weather. Early morning hikes and camping under the stars made this tour truly memorable. One thing you can't predict is the group of people you travel with. Our group was so much fun! We highly recommend this tour.

From a lost in Australia point of view we have no complaints and would highly recommend using your service for the following reasons:
1. All tours booked were all reasonably priced. The fact we were given the price per activity was a positive as we knew what our money was going towards. This was a benefit over other tour operators who only quoted a total and slow to provide a breakdown of the price.
2. When selecting our tours joe was extremely helpful in sending us links and that way we felt we had an ideal say in deciding our tours yet had no hassle with the actual booking. (Also went out of his way to get us on the clipper at the whitsundays). We felt this was a major benefit over peter pan as we felt we weren't just booked on tours with no details given on the type of tour or what other options were available to us. Sending two options to customers allowed us to decide if we wanted to pay more for a better experience or stay with the cheaper option. This was the case in great barrier reef and as mentioned below we were glad of our decision to upgrade.
3. Although everything was done via email we did have a slight worry that we may have issue a long the way and could not stop at a shop like Peter pan but so far we have had no issues and all bookings have been perfect.
4. For a group of 4 backpackers with different money situations the fact we could all pay at different times and different amounts each time was a huge bonus and the tracking of payments and balance was straightforward.
5. In dealing with lost in Australia we did not feel any tour was pushed upon on us. Price details etc were provided to us and the rest of the decisions were left up to us. (This benefit may be due to our dealing only be email).
From a tour operator point of view:
1. The GSL aviation flight was one of our highlights. Highly recommend the hour flight to see an extra bit of the reef.
2. Great barrier reef tour was excellent, food and staff were excellent.
3. We thought there were small minor parts of the uluru trip that could have been better but it was still good value for money.
4. Fraser island was another highlight and the fact we could meet the group in rainbow beach and be dropped back to noosa was a bonus!
My only suggestion is when we booked our first tour we were charged a credit card fee which was not disclosed when paying. This probably should be stated. I emailed after the transaction querying this and told to email again if booking any other tours. This was how I decided to get a quote from lost in oz for the east coast. I would include an option on your website for you guys to quote a groups tailored trip. We knew what we wanted to do and with a picture of a calendar with details it was very easy for Joe to quote our activities and book a bus.

“Great trip to the Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and Kings Canyon”
I took this tour with Niall as my tour leader starting Dec 6, 2018. I was picked-up at my hotel on time; that said there had been confusion caused by an email I should not have received, which required a number of frustrating emails to get it all straightened out. It all worked out. There were 8 of us from Alice Springs to the Ayers Rock airport, where we picked-up the rest of the group. The drive from Alice springs to the airport was in a very comfortable vehicle with plenty of leg room and overhead storage. The leader, Niall, was outstanding in knowledge, humor, personality and driving ability. (A leader of a tour I took later in Tasmania knew Niall and spoke really well of him, too.) I really did not know what to expect on this trip and was pleased and surprised all the way. Our tent and bathroom facilities, as well as the food situation, were all fine and most acceptable---after all, we were in the outback! We were at Uluru for both sunset and sunrise (requiring getting up at 3:45!) but it was totally worth it. We had champagne for the sunset! To me, pictures of Uluru from a distance looked like something dropped into the middle of nowhere; but, when you get up close and really see the structure, it becomes amazing! The 10-km walk around it was amazing; one can see why it was such an important place for the aborigines. The short hike among rocks in a canyon of Kata Tjuta was great. We got to Kings Canyon before sunrise and took the rim hike. Sure, the 500 steps at the start are not easy but certainly worth it in order to see the Garden of Eden, among other sights. An interaction with an aborigine woman (along with a translator) who spoke about various aspects of their lives and culture was really worth while. The group ranged in age from probably mid-20s to 75. It was a good group. Over all, this was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a positive attitude for the living situation on the tour. Keep in mind that there is quite a bit of driving. And, most important: get up and look at the incredible southern sky! Any photographers who read this should take a 14mm lens with them; I used my airplane neck-rest to steady the camera during 30-sec exposures and got great pictures!

The trip was wonderful and the tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed each of our stops, and camping in the Outback was great experience. It was a great way for my wife and I to travel and hike around the Outback without being overwhelmed with the logistics behind lodging, travel, and food. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
My only improvement recommendation is the lunches were a bit sub-par. The breakfasts and dinners were great, but I wasn't a fan of the lunch, and it seemed like there wasn't enough for everyone.

Crazy but eye-opening tour with Tyler, super helpful guide, obviously very invested in Aboriginal culture was very knowledgeable but respectful. Also it rained heavily on kings canyon tour so part of it was closed but he took us as far as we could get, walking across waterfalls and everything!! Then to top it off, I left my phone on the coach at the end of the trip but he drove back to our hotel late at night to return it on his way home, great guide, great experience, highly recommend

I only have one small recommendation. On the website you can better promote the accommodations by saying that a warm shower and toilets are available. My wife was affraid that the accommodations were really basic and that you have like a bush shower and toilet. But the accommodations are really well organized so you might want to promote that better on the website!

Absolutely loved this trip.
Although short it didn’t feel rushed. Lots of early mornings but that made for no people on the base walk at Uluru and a quieter and cooler Kings Canyon walk. Catch up on sleep on the bus. For 3 days with a lot of driving it didn’t feel like we were stuck on a bus for hours and had frequent breaks
When they say basix they mean basic glamping. Comfy beds and nice camp facilities. All meals included for the 3 days and it was basic bbq meals and good vegetarian options.
Guide and host who cooked all our food were great and we really enjoyed travelling with them.
Overall a really pleasant experience
“Uluru 3 day original”
Booked this trip through intrepid and had an absolute blast. We visited beautiful sites, did really amazing hikes, stayed in amazing camp locations that would not have been possible outside of the tour. Meg was a fantastic, enthusiastic, funny and knowledgeable guide and went above and beyond to inspire us all. The champagne sunset overlooking uluru with a cheese platter was an unexpected highlight as was the incredible camp fire.
“Most amazing trip I've done”
Myself and my parents did the 3 day original Red centre adventure with an extra day added on the end to the MacDonnell Ranges. I have to say I wasn't expecting much from the NT as I had it down in my head as somewhere very empty and dull, but I ended up being absolutely blown away by the guides, service and all the facilities. The camping was fantastic: since we did the original version as opposed to basic, we were provided with beds and towels and linen. Other than being a little bit chilly, which was obviously to be expected given it was winter time, the beds were comfortable and warm enough and everything was very clean.
The camp food was cooked by camp hosts and everything was very high quality, there was plenty of it and given the limited space and cooking facilities they had to work with as well as the number of people to cater for, I think they did an excellent job.
The operation of the trip was faultless - there was a lot of driving involved but we made sufficient stops along the way for toilets/snacks etc. I absolutely loved everything that was planned for us to do, from the sunset at Uluru, sunrise walk and King's canyon rim walk. I learned so much just in the 4 days I was there. The guides were particularly wonderful and deserve a special mention -
We had Jerome and Claire T and both of them went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and happy and enjoying themselves. Honestly can't rate them highly enough. Both spoke to you as if you were a friend and made an effort to get to know you and learn your name, which sounds like such a simple thing but made all the difference. They were patient and considerate and both assets to the company.
Overall a fantastic experience and would urge anyone even just thinking about visiting the NT to go for it. 11/10
“Amazing camping trip”
I had a great time on the 3 day Rock to Rock tour from Yulara. Our guide Claire is a legend and made the trip so much fun! The tour was really organized and well run. I especially loved Kings Canyon and sleeping in a swag under the stars. Amazing trip to end my time in Australia.

This was a fab tour and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a small group setting to do the tour. It was paced well.
I’d strongly recommend being picked up in Ayers Rock as it saves you the long drive on the bus from Alice Springs.
Suzanne and Dominick were our guides, both enthusiastic about what they do and happy to share their wealth of information.
In the beginning of July you need to bring a hat, gloves, and coat, plus layers of additional clothing. It is very cold at night, even in the tents. This is all part of the experience but you won’t be happy if you’re not prepared.
On the second day you should hear the Aboriginal speaker talk about Uluru (this is an option in the tour packages); I would have felt like I missed out had I not done this.
This is not a foodie tour- if you are picky about food you should pack some snacks. There is plenty of food, but it’s for the masses and designed to make you full, not enjoy. Also, if you fly from Sydney to Alice or Ayers you cannot bring fruit with you, and have to throw it away in the airport.
A lot of the other tour buses looked huge and impersonal. This is not what you’ll get on this tour.
“Great adventure”
This adventure was great, seeing the sun set over Uluru, walking around it as the sun rises,, Kings Canyon and the Olgas were good too, but obviously not as great as Uluru. The guides were tough but fair...you need it when you have to get up at 5 am to see the sun-rise over Uluru. Food could be better perhaps...but you know that it isn't going to be fine dining.
“Wasn't sure what to expect but thrilled”
Brief background: we actually booked a tour with Wayoutback, but three days before our departure--when we were already in Australia--Wayoutback cancelled our tour and booked us on a similar trip with Adventure Tours Australia. We weren't sure what to expect, but Adventure Tours Australia was a blast.
We arrived for the tour into Ayers Rock airport. (Side note: we definitely recommend doing the tour this way rather than beginning in Alice Springs. Otherwise, you'll spend an additional 5 hours in the bus, which will make it seem like your tour was nothing but driving.) We hadn't any contact with Adventure Tours Australia before we arrived, but we were told that they'd pick us up at 2 p.m. Clare (sp?) was very prompt and arrived right on time. After a pit stop at the camp, we spent the afternoon at Kata Tjuta and then watched the sunset at Uluru--along with a tasty champagne, cheese and charcuterie spread. After, we had a really delicious Australian BBQ dinner with plenty of wine before calling it a night and settling in to our permanent tents with beds, linens and pillows. One small complaint was the limited number of sleeping bags available at the camp. Not everyone got one--we did--and it fell to below 0 degrees that night. Even with linens, some people still couldn't get warm. It'd be better to ensure that sleeping bags were included and available to everyone--especially those who are flying in and unable to bring their own sleeping bag with them.
On the second and third days, we did some pretty amazing walks/hikes at Uluru and King's Canyon (be aware of the 4.5-hour drive between the two) and also had the opportunity to participate in an Aboriginal guided tour. This definitely set Adventure Tours Australia apart, because I don't believe that many Outback tours include this component. We spent an hour or so with Charmaine, who told us many interesting stories and shared information on the indigenous community's background and why Uluru was so special to them. It was a great experience to be able to meet her.
Clare was a fantastic guide who went out of her way to ensure we were all having a good time. She was funny, knowledgeable and experienced. And Ron kept us fed and fueled--not an easy task considering all the walking and hiking we did over three days. I'm also impressed because one of us cannot eat onions or peppers, and Ron made sure that there was always a slightly altered dish that accommodated this dietary restriction.
This was a great tour with a friendly, experienced guide and a really fun group.

We enjoyed the second half of the trip a lot more when we switched drivers. Our first was allowing his personal issues effect the quality of the trip, but he correctly pulled himself out and we got a new driver who was much more enthusiastic about the whole trip!
So we ended on a high!
One thing I would say was we were not anticipating just how cold it would be in the swags during winter! (Plus my swag on first night was damaged and so I froze the first night because I couldn’t locate the driver to get a new one!)
Also, I think driving all the way to Alice springs to then drive all the way back the next morning was a bit of a stretch. But I think that’s because we were not well informed enough about the sheer distance from Uluru!
But overall I think we all enjoyed the experience, I especially enjoyed hearing about the cultural indigenous history.

to be honest it was a really fun trip. Much better than I imagined it would be. Main reason being the guide James(?), I'm so glad we didn't have one of those 'happy camper/Disneyland/stuffed shirt' types. And it was just one of those groups that gelled so well. Good conversation and plenty of jokes and laughter. In fact I'm really annoyed with myself for not getting contact or Facebook details off those guys so we could share photos etc.
The only comment I would make was that the quality of the bedding, the sleeping bags and pillows, left a lot to be desired. I certainly is time to give them a decent burial.
