Itinerary

Days 1 and 2: classroom and pool training

The first two days are spent at the diver training centre, Port Douglas' only purpose-built PADI 5 Star IDC dive facility, centrally located with a heated dive pool and air-conditioned classrooms. You learn dive theory in the classroom and the skills of scuba diving in the pool.

Days 3 and 4: outer Great Barrier Reef

Days three and four are spent on the Great Barrier Reef aboard one of the custom-built dive and snorkel catamarans, Poseidon or Silversonic, with access to some of the region's most pristine dive sites, where you complete four training dives.

At the end of day 4 you are a PADI Open Water Diver. You may have the chance to do two more pleasure dives as a certified diver, or use them as training dives towards Advanced Open Water certification.
