Itinerary
Day 1: Hobart to the Wild West Coast
An early start from Hobart takes us deep into the wild west of Tasmania. After passing through New Norfolk, we explore Mount Field National Park, walking among some of the tallest trees on the planet, standing beneath the beautiful Russell Falls, and searching for platypus. Our drive passes through the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area with a stop at Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, strolling along the Franklin River and under Nelson Falls. We explore the eerie historical mining town of Queenstown before reaching Tullah in the afternoon, with free time to explore the township on beautiful Lake Rosebery.

Day 2: Wild West Coast to Central Tasmania (via Cradle Mountain)
From Tullah, we drive through temperate rainforest to the spectacular Cradle Mountain National Park. Get your cameras ready as we spot wild wombats before hiking the popular Dove Lake Circuit — or Marion's Lookout for the adventurous. An afternoon drive brings us to secluded bush accommodation surrounded by wildlife — wallabies, wombats, quolls, birds and more — with an included BBQ dinner with the group.

Day 3: Central Tasmania to Bicheno
We start with a scenic drive to the Bay of Fires, with time to explore its beautiful beaches — rock-hop among the iconic orange lichen-covered granite boulders and enjoy the crystal-clear turquoise water. In the afternoon, we stop at a wildlife sanctuary for a Tasmanian Devil feeding, then drive to Bicheno (known as the next Byron Bay), arriving early to explore the blowhole, coastal loop walk and Whalers Lookout. There's the option of a Little Penguin guided tour at dusk.

Day 4: Bicheno to Hobart
A short drive from Bicheno brings us to Freycinet National Park, home of the famous Wineglass Bay. Hike the Wineglass Bay Lookout and Beach, the Hazards Circuit, or Mount Amos (weather dependent). We stop at Cape Tourville before completing the Great Eastern Drive back to Hobart, with a lunch stop at a winery with iconic east coast views (lunch and wine at your own expense).

Day 5: Maria Island National Park
We set off on a scenic ferry ride to the remote and enchanting Maria Island, a car-free national park where untouched wilderness and rich history await. Spend the day exploring the island on foot with your guide. Wander to the remarkable Fossil Cliffs, where ancient marine fossils are etched into the rock face, and marvel at the swirling patterns and colours of the iconic Painted Cliffs — one of Tasmania's most photogenic natural wonders. We stop in the historic township of Darlington to hear the stories of the island's past. Keep an eye out for wombats grazing, pademelons darting through the bush, wallabies, kangaroos, echidnas and plenty of birdlife along the way.

Day 6: Tasman Peninsula & Cape Hauy
Our final day takes us to the Tasman Peninsula, famed for its towering sea cliffs and wild ocean views. From the pristine shores of Fortescue Bay in Tasman National Park, we set out on a rewarding 4-hour return hike to Cape Hauy — the final section of the famous Three Capes Track — through forest, coastal heath and rugged clifftops, with panoramic views of the Tasman Sea crashing far below. After the hike, unwind with a well-deserved break on the beach at Fortescue Bay. In the afternoon we explore more of the peninsula, with the chance to sample celebrated local produce, before a scenic drive back to Hobart, arriving at approximately 5pm. Airport drop-offs are available on request — or if you're staying longer, don't miss the Salamanca Market on Saturdays.

Throughout your 6-day Tasmania adventure, you’ll stay in carefully selected lodges, cabins, and seaside bungalows that reflect the character and natural beauty of the island. Our base tour rate includes multi-share accommodation, featuring single beds in shared 1–3-bedroom cabins, bungalows, or motels (2–4 guests per room) with attached bathrooms. For those seeking extra privacy, upgrades to private bedrooms with shared bathrooms are available.
On Night One, we stay in a lakeside lodge surrounded by mountains and steeped in local history. The on-site bar and restaurant overlook the water — the perfect place to relax and enjoy dinner after a day of exploring.
Night Two brings us to a remote bush setting in central Tasmania, roughly 600 metres above sea level. These cabins offer peaceful forest and mountain views and are often visited by native wildlife after dark. In the evening, we gather around the campfire for a group BBQ dinner, watching wallabies and other marsupials graze nearby.
On Night Three, we settle into bungalows with ocean and bush views in a quiet coastal town. Each bungalow has its own bathroom and kitchen, and you’ll be just a short walk from the beach, lookouts, and scenic walking tracks.
Accommodation on the final two nights is also included in the same style — multi-share as standard, with private upgrades available.
