Cookies

A cookie is a small file the site stores in your browser. We use them for three things, and you can choose which of them you allow.

Essential. These make the site work — keeping your booking together as you move between pages, remembering your cookie choice, and protecting the forms from spam. They cannot be switched off, because the site would not function without them.

Understanding how the site is used. Google Analytics tells us which pages people read, which tours they look at, and where they give up. It shows us patterns across all visitors rather than what any one person did.

Measuring our advertising. If you arrived from an advertisement, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta record that the visit led to an enquiry or a booking. This is how we know which advertising is worth paying for. It also allows those companies to show you our advertisements on other sites.

Your choice. If you are visiting from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we ask before setting anything beyond the essential cookies, and nothing else is set until you answer. Elsewhere they are set by default. Either way you can change your mind whenever you like: change your cookie choice.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's own settings. If you do, parts of the site — including booking — may stop working properly.

Keeping your personal information accurate

We take all reasonable measures to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date.  We encourage you to tell us if you change your contact details.  If you believe that your personal information is not accurate or up-to-date please contact us. We will endeavour to correct any personal information as soon as possible.

Protecting your personal information

We may store information in both paper and electronic form.  The security of your personal information is important to us and we take reasonable steps to protect it.  Personally identifiable information is stored on secure servers that are not publicly accessible in secure facilities.  Further, this information is only accessed by authorised Lost In Australia employees or contractors. Credit/debit card details supplied by you to us are not stored on our database after 7 days.

Lost In Australia regularly reviews security and has policies in place to protect information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

  • as required by law
  • to regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials to protect against fraud or investigate a suspected unlawful activity
  • to tour operators whome require passenger details in order to secure a seat. This will include credit card details.
