Journey through Tasmania’s Western Wilds and its stunning landscapes. At Mount Field National Park, stroll beneath some of the world’s tallest trees and admire the cascading beauty of Russell Falls. Next, we visit the vast Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, before continuing through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, where pristine rainforests and rugged mountain scenery await. As we travel west, take in the dramatic landscapes surrounding the historic mining town of Queenstown before arriving in the picturesque harborside village of Strahan.

Day 2: WILD WEST COAST
Today offers two unforgettable ways to experience Tasmania’s rugged west. For adventure seekers, join a guided walk amongst temperate rainforest and explore the towering Henty Sand Dunes. Prefer a more relaxed pace? Opt for the scenic Gordon River Cruise (own cost) through Macquarie Harbour, stopping at historic Sarah Island, and exploring ancient Huon pine forests in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Later, we’ll visit Ocean Beach—Tasmania’s longest stretch of sand—where you can breathe in the world’s freshest air.

Day 3: CRADLE MOUNTAIN TO LAUNCESTON
Experience the alpine landscapes of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, a World Heritage-listed wilderness shaped by ancient glaciers. Choose between several walks such as the stunning 6km Dove Lake circuit, one of Australia’s top short walks, or take on the more challenging hike to Marion’s Lookout for spectacular alpine views. Keep an eye out for wombats at Ronny Creek before descending from the highlands. Along the way, we’ll stop in Sheffield, the renowned “Town of Murals,” before arriving in Launceston.

Day 4: LAUNCESTON TO BICHENO
Walk along Launceston’s scenic Cataract Gorge and look for local wallabies. Later, it’s time to experience some breathtaking East Coast scenery. Enjoy lunch in St Helens before walking along the white sands of the magical Larapuna / the Bay of Fires. We’ll learn about the cultural significance of the area to Palawa people and take our time to savour the ocean and the dramatic colours of rust-orange boulders, white sands and turquoise waters. Then, we will travel south to the picturesque fishing village of Bicheno, where little penguins can be seen emerging from the sea.

Day 5: FREYCINET TO HOBART
Freycinet National Park is a coastal gem with pristine beaches, eucalypt woodlands, and stunning lookouts. Admire the pink granite peaks of the Hazards from Honeymoon Bay before choosing a walk within the park: the trail to the summit of Mt Amos is challenging and offers incredible views, while the moderate walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout also offers breathtaking scenery, and you can continue down and walk along the pristine beach. We conclude at Cape Tourville, with spectacular ocean and peninsula vistas before returning to Hobart via the scenic Great Eastern Drive.

Day 6: STRAHAN > HOBART
Bonorong, Tasmania’s premier conservation and wildlife sanctuary, offers the chance to encounter a variety of native animals, including Tasmanian devils. Next, we’ll explore the historic village of Richmond, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Our trip back to Hobart takes us through the scenic Coal River Valley before we explore Wellington Park, known locally as “The Mountain” or by its Palawa name, Kunanyi. Your guide will lead you through its diverse landscapes, from lush fern glades and towering eucalyptus forests to dramatic rock columns and sprawling boulder fields. With fantastic walking tracks and breathtaking lookouts, it’s the perfect way to conclude our adventure.
How active is this tour?
- The walking in Tasmania is world-class, and we’ve selected beautiful walking experiences for our guests (we include many of the 60-great-short-walks of Tasmania)
- Some walks are guided, while others are unguided (free walking)
- In many locations there is a choice between an easier or more advanced option
- Essentially, you can make this as active or as easy as you like; all walks are optional and range from 20 minutes up to 4 hours

Cancellations by You
At the time of booking we strongly advise you to obtain personal travel insurance which includes cover for cancellation costs.
If you cancel some or all portions of your booking the cancellation terms set out below will apply.
If you cancel a booking:
- 0 to 14 days before the departure date or failure to board on tour will result in a 100% cancellation fee of the booking amount and not eligible for a refund.
- 15 or more days prior to the departure – we will refund the full balance paid by you in connection with your booking. Flexible date changes available.
- Reservations made with a deposit are non-refundable.
Cancellations by Us
If we cancel your tour, you can transfer the fare paid towards a tour on an alternate date or alternatively receive a full refund. Refunds will be provided where required by Australian Consumer Law.
In circumstances where a cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights.

What is the baggage allowance?
You may bring a backpack or suitcase and it will be stored securely in our trailer during the day and unloaded each evening. We recommend bring a smaller day pack to store your daily essentials such as drinks, jackets and sunscreen while on tour.
What immunisations do I need?
For the latest information on immunisations, we strongly recommend you or contact the Travellers Medical and Vaccination Centre (www.traveldoctor.com.au) to discuss health requirements for your trip. They will advise you about appropriate inoculations.
Do I need to take any medical supplies?
It is not necessary to bring any medical supplies other than any personal items you may require. Each tour will carry an first aid box and our guides are all certified in First Aid.
How fit do I need to be?
Our tours are made to be fun, informative and active and can be enjoyed by anyone with a moderate degree of fitness and agility. Travellers should be comfortable with hiking/walking up to 5km each day.
Do I need travel insurance?
Insurance is important in protecting visitors from loss or damange of goods, medical problems, cancelation by passengers or other casualties. Its highly recommended. Some tours on this website require you to have travel insurance. If you are Australian then it is not necessary.
Will I be able to use my mobile whilst on tour?
You can use your mobile while touring in Australia or New Zealand, but coverage may be limited in remote areas. For best connectivity, consider purchasing a local SIM card or an international roaming plan.
Can we depart Tasmania the day our tour finishes? Can we be dropped off at the Airport?
Yes, you can depart Tasmania the same day your tour finishes; to be on the safe side we advise all flights leaving Tasmania should be booked for 8pm or later.We can arrange an airport drop off on the final day of tour the following tours: 7 Day, 6 Day, 5 Day, 4 Day. If you wish to be dropped at the Airport on either of these please ensure you have all possessions with you on tour as you will be dropped at the airport on the way back into Hobart.For all other tours you will be dropped into the city centre.
Can I arrive in Tasmania the day my tour departs?
No, You will need to arrive into your departure city at least the day before your tour is scheduled to depart, due to the early start to our day tours and multi-day tours you cannot arrive the same day your tour is set to depart.
How can I get from the Airport to the city centre?
HOBART AIRPORT INFORMATIONLOCATION – Hobart Airport is located 17 kilometres (roughly a 15-20 minute drive) from the city centre of Hobart. You can get to and from the airport via the SkyBus, Uber or taxis.SKYBUS HOBART EXPRESS SHUTTLE SERVICE – Skybus operates a regular express bus service between Hobart Airport and select locations in Hobart’s city centre.TAXIS – Taxis are located directly out the front of the building and cost approximately $40 to $60 each way to/from Hobart’s city centre. If you need a mini-van or special taxi ask one of the kerbside assistants who will radio one through for you.UBER – Uber is available in Hobart and rides can be organised through their app. Fares can be cheaper than taxis however wait times can vary largely and are dependent on available drivers in the local area.LAUNCESTON AIRPORT INFORMATIONLOCATION – Launceston Airport is located 15 kilometres south of Launceston on the Evandale Main Road. Do I have to book this tour online?
Definitely not. Our website is designed to make is easy and convenient for you to schedule your tour. However we understand sometimes its nice to talk to someone directly. So by all means give us a call and we can organise your trip over the phone.
If I book more than one tour can I get a discount?
Absolutely! If you are booking multiple tours then we may be able to offer you a discount. Send us an email at info@lostinaustralia.org and let us know what you thinking of doing and we can put together a price for you.Also, be sure to look out for monthly specials on tours. We often have some great bargains.
How do I know when a tour is available?
You can check the departure dates of tours by using our calendar on the top right hand corner of the tour page. This will tell you what days the tour departs. For availability of seats please contact us directly at info@lostinaustralia.org or call us.
Does the tour price include flights?
No. Tour prices do not include any travel arrangements other than for the duration of the tour itself. If you need assistance with booking flights or buses our travel team and certainly help - Just ask!
How far in advance do I need to book my tour?
As a rule of thumb we generally say AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to departure, this will usually get you a seat on the date you want. That being said, we cannot guarantee that spaces will be available at the time of your booking so, if you can, book as soon as possible. Bookings can still be made right up until the departure date of the tour if seats are available. If you know when you'd like to travel, please contact us and we will let you know if you need to book soon or if you have time.
If you cancel a booking due to COVID-19
Within 21 days of departure and due to you having COVID-19 or symptoms and supported by a medical certificate, or due to border closures inhibiting your ability to travel, we will refund monies paid by you in connection with the booking less any unrecoverable costs.

Is this Tasmania tour for me?
Our tours are made up of small groups with a range of ages, nationalities and backgrounds - everyone is welcome! On tour we get equally as many males as females and everyone shares an enthusiasm for the out doors, nature, adventure and culture. The trips are packed with many highlights and the pace can be fast - although there’s always time to chill out, have a cold beer ( or wine! ) and soak up your surroundings. As always, if in doubt then contact us directly with your concerns.
Cost and Fees
Will I need additional money?
Visitors are advised to bring some cash as ATMs and banks can be few and far between depending on where we are during the trip. Its handy to have some extra cash as we do stop by local shops and cafe.
Do I need to tip our guide?
If you had an amazing time on tour and wish to tip the guide, then that is completely up to you. However, tipping is not customary and is not at all expected.
Are there any hidden fees I need to know about?
Our tour prices are completely transparent. There are no additional fees involved that are not included in the overall tour price shown. If you wish to do optional activities such as helicopter rides or wildlife safaris, then an extra cost may be needed. However, this will always be made clear at the time of your booking.

What accommodation will we be sleeping in during our Tassie trip?
During our Tasmania tours we stay in a wide variety of different hostels and motels with dorm style accommodation. All accommodation are run by friendly and hospitable locals who's job it is to make sure you enjoy your stay while in Tassie!For those who'd like more privacy, we do have the option to upgrade to twin or double rooms with private facilities.
Can I book extra accommodation for the start and end of the tour?
We know our country inside and out and would be happy to give you good recommodations. Please contact us for recommendations.
Where do I meet the tour?

Here we list everywhere we can pick up from and their respective times.There is a lot of information here to help you plan your flights and arrival.Please review careful as these can vary from tour to tour.
Is food included on this tour?
We believe that our guests prefer to do their own thing when it comes to meals. We allow them their own space each day to dine out and enjoy the local fare and provide recommendations, and we also assist by taking guests to the local supermarket to purchase items that can be prepared in the kitchen at each hostel, either individually or as a group. If there's something you can't do without, just bring it with you! Please advise your dietary requirements at the time of booking.
What vehicle do we use to explore Tasmania?
For our Tasmania tours we generally use one of our custom prepared 4WD Mini buses. However this depends on the size of the group and the amount of days we are out and about. Each Tasmania tour varies so please refer to your tour info panel on the top right hand side of the page.
What is the weather like in Tasmania?
Tasmania weather has four distinct seasons. The warmest months are December, January, February and March. Autumn (Fall) has many sunny days and the landscape produces a mass of colour as 200 year-old oaks, elms, birches and Tasmania’s own native beech, turn from gold to red in preparation for winter. Winter runs from May through August. Spring spans September, October and November, and brings oceans of wildflowers. The average summer temperatures sit between 17 and 23 degrees Celsius (62 and 73 degrees Fahrenheit) and in winter, between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius (37 and 51 degrees Fahrenheit). Tasmania’s location below the 40th parallel means the summer evenings display a lingering twilight

I along with my two Brothers who were visiting from Canada took the Six day Tassie tour, March, 2013 We all agreed it was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. There were travellers from all over the world from young to elderly ,We all had such a good time. We enjoyed the sites and treks food and people of a beautiful part of Australia we had never seen before. Not least was the fantastic tour guide and driver we had on our trip. His knowledge, friendliness and good humour really added to what was a great tour.

Hello,
I would like to have more information about the 6 days Tasmania Tour.
Well, the guided tour will begin the Sunday (10/18/2015). If we arrive on the 17th of October, what could be the accomodation ? This is the same concerning the night between the 23rd and the 24th. Where can I find an accomodation concerning these 2 nights ? What is the difference between a double room and a share room ? And what is the difference between an hostel and a motel ?

I was really impressed with the hotel/motel accommodation option and it was worth the extra money. For six days of travel we got to see a lot of Tasmania and I am looking forward to going back again.

The tour was fantastic. Trent gets 10/10. Very knowledgeable, organised, and never rushes which is hard to find in a tour guide.
I would change the Hobart hostel to the Pickled Frog better holiday atmosphere. The Hobart hostel was a complete let down compared to every other hostel we stayed at. No room in the kitchen to eat, to many stairs and the church bell rings loudly close by all night long making it difficult to sleep. Not great for a group touring that needs to get up early.

I would 100% score it 5 out of 5! The tour was amazing, our guide Jerry was so great and she even managed to hold the rain off for us whilst we went to Marion's lookout in Cradle Mountain!

Absolutely perfect! From the moment James our guide greeted me at my accommodation to the very end of the tour, I can’t think of anything to be negative really. James was professional, knowledgeable, approachable and easy to converse with. I spent my 50th birthday with my fellow travellers in comfort and fun. It will probably be my most memorable birthday ever. Thank you Lea for organising the lovely birthday card and the dinner. I would probably never meet you guys/girls again but the experience will last for a life time.
The tour was fantastic. I find the itinerary suitable for all ages and most fitness levels. As a “budget” tour, it really exceeded my expectations. I am now looking to join the NT tours later this year.
BTW, thank you Joe our tour coordinator, you were absolutely helpful and patient.
All in all, one of my best travel experiences. Highly recommended.

I did the 6 day explorer tour solo. We had the wonderful Darcy as our tour guide. She was awesome, enthusiastic, an amazing story teller and had great knowledge. She brought our wee group together and kept everyone included. As a solo traveller she made you feel as a part of the family always.
I stayed in the hostels, which I would recommend. You stay as a part of the group and it is just a better vibe. More team bonding. The hostels are comfortable enough and you are well taken care of. The bus is comfortable, which is good, but we also do many stops to stretch the legs. The walk to Montazuma Falls is well worth it and it's not difficult as opposed to doing the cruise on the river. There is a play in Strahan, well worth the evening out. You can also do the Penguin tour in Bicheno, it was really sweet, but my personal opinion is not worth the $40.
I would recommend this tour to anyone young or old. However, if you are a bit older, some fitness is required. We had a couple in their 60's on the tour with us, they did magnificently on the walks.

I did the 6 day tour in the last week of February 2019, which was fantastic. The itinerary was excellent, with the main highlights being the climb around Cradle Mountain, the stunning landscapes of Freycinet National Park and the wildlife on Maria Island. We had a top group on this trip, spearheaded by Evan (aka Evo), who was an incredible guide and really went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a great (and hilarious) time. I would definitely recommend this trip.

I did the 6 days tour from 30 Jan to 4 Feb with Intrepid (Adventure Tours) and travelled with an amazing group of people and our very own 'Aussie-Gyver' aka Evan as the tour guide. I loved every bit of the journey from the breathtaking scenery, beautiful beaches to hiking in the Cradle Mountain and Hazard Bay (The bakeries were good too especially the Sugar n Spice in Bridport - the best sugar doughnuts in the world)
I even got to see Kangaroos in Maria Island after being in Australia for 5 weeks (Couldn't leave Australia without seeing a Roo or two).
The best bits:
1) Travelling with an amazing group of people who made the trip fun and gave me the encouragement to hike Cradle Mountain (even with my fear of height)
2) The pace of the tour was just right with something for everyone
3) Aussie-Gyver Evan is a great tour guide with his knowledge of history and nature. He took care of everyone and encouraged us to get the best out of the tour. Always full of energy, ready with a smile and few jokes. (You should rename the tour 'The Aussie-Gyver Evan Tour :- ) )
Not so good bit:
The tour finished too quickly- I wished it was longer. I would love to do the tour again.

The experience with Under Down Under was AWESOME! I started the Explorer 6 tour from the 10th of Feb, and ended up meeting lots of cool and super fun people from all over the world! It was hilarious most of the time as we made fun of each other and joked a lot, we decided to call the group as WOMBAT S**T as it seems appropriate as that was what all we’ve been seeing everywhere, like “watch out, there’s wombat poo here”. Our guide James was super chilled, friendly and knowledgeable. We were super happy to have him, he joked with us, dined with us and went out with us! We would totally recommend James to all !!! Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him after 5 days, some of us continued our tour with Jacob who was also pretty awesome. Like James, they were born and raised in Tassie! You won’t regret your time with Under Down Under, you would get to see all the things and places you wanna see and do in Tassie. Most importantly you’d get a knowledgeable guide/driver to introduce the best of Tassie! What more could you possibly ask for aye!

I did the six day tour starting on 23.02.19 with Evo as our guide and I couldn't be more happy with it.
The nature was amazing! Waterfalls, lakes, mountains, lookouts, sand dunes, beaches, kangaroos, penguins, enchidnas, wallabies and on our last day we were able to get up close to wombats and I could even pet one.
Evo was a fantastic guide and did a great job always looking after everyone, caring that you are happy and entertaining the group with jokes and information about the area. Even after the program for the day was finished he often stayed with the group and we went into pubs and had dinner together.
This tour really exceeded all my expectations. Tasmanias nature is completely varied and beautiful, you could start the day with a walk through the forest to a waterfall, on the next stop stand in sand dunes and end the trip on the beach. And the next day could be completely different again, with doing a big hike up a mountain to a lookout. I'm still amazed by Tasmania and would love to come back to see some more places of it.
I can't say enough how much fun I had! I saw some of Tasmanias best places, had a fantastic group and with Evo as the best guide I ever had, it could only turn out to be a great trip. So again big thanks to all of you!

I did the 6 day Taste of Tasmania (Basix) tour departing Hobart 16/2 by Intrepid (Adventure Tours). We had Evan as our tour guide and he did an awesome job all the way, would be great to travel with him again. Highlights of the tour:
- Evan: awesome tour guide, made sure we have everything we need, payed attention to everybody (taking care of bday babies as well), shared a lot about local attractions, animals, etc and even more if you had questions. Top it up with great sense of humor and super driving skills and you just have a 5+++ tour guide.
- Tasmania: it is simple beautiful as a whole. Cradle Mountains, Bay of Fire, Maria Island.... Lots of animals (wombat, kangaroo... just the key highlights. The whole itinerary was put together in a good way and well balanced with different kind of activities.
- the group: we had an awesome group of 14. Mostly solo travelers from all kind of background, age, nationalities - was supernice
- breakfast: I do think there is some room for improvement here, would have loved to have some (any) veggies or savory on the palette
- upgraded room: I didn`t choose that, but we had 2 members of the group who had solo rooms and you should be aware that it means you will be on a different location than the rest of the team - I found it a bit awkward that they were separated a bit from the rest of us.
- can we include a stop somewhere to see Tasmanian Devils? That was the only thing I was missing :)
So all in all go for this trip, highly recommended!

I did the six day tour departing Hobart 16/2. What an incredible trip! We saw some amazing sights, and the entire group counted ourselves really lucky to score Evan as our leader. He did a fantastic job all round organising everything and everyone every single day to perfection. He was a great driver and all round guide, never got stressed, took everyone’s needs and wants into consideration at all times, gave loads of great tips and info on all things Tasmanian, was just plain fabulous and hilarious company and perhaps most importantly for someone driving a group around for a week, he has the best taste in music ever :) He even took the trouble to organise birthday cakes and decorate the bus for people’s birthdays on the trip. I don’t know how he managed everything as brilliantly as he did!
Some highlights of the trip for me were Cradle Mountain, staying in Bicheno and Maria Island (so many wombats!) I was fortunate to travel with the coolest group of people ever, and made some great friends. I highly recommend this trip for solo travellers.
Tips: upgraded accomodation on this trip is a terrible idea and was the only negative for me on this trip. Please be aware that if you go for this option you will be housed separately to the rest of the group every night between 5 and 20 minutes walk away. DO NOT go with this option unless you absolutely must have your own room, and if so, be aware that you may feel very isolated. The rest of the group will also have a better quality breakfast together every morning while you have a much poorer continental breakfast in your room alone. If I hadn’t had such a great group of people to travel with I would have probably felt isolated and not included on this trip. Just suck it up and share a room! I should have.
Feedback: get rid of the “upgraded” accommodation on this trip, or make it your own room in the same hostel (this was the impression I got from the itinerary, which was very misleading in the details given) or at least at the closest available accommodation. Proximity is more important than quality or price for this option. Breakfasts are also terrible on this option, without variety and often stale or unhygienic.

I travelled to Tasmania for the museums, wildlife, and cooler temperature - and I can't say that I've been disappointed. The entire state is absolutely gorgeous, particularly the west coast which mainly consists of protected national parks. Saw a lot of wildlife, befriended some really great people from across the globe, and visited Sarah Island which, as a complete history nerd, was probably my highlight. And the wombats, obviously.
Our group was lucky enough to have Evan as our tour guide, who took into consideration everyone's interests (including mine, and pointed me in the direction to all the historical landmarks I needed to see). Another bonus is he knows heaps about Tas, including where the wombats like to hang out on Maria Island. A cool guy who I'd happily road trip across Australia with.
In summary, I had an awesome time and can't stop telling all my friends about how good Tas and this tour is :)

I did a 6 days tour around tasmania with the under down under tours and it was amazing.
Our tourguide Evan showed us the best places of Tasmania. His knowledge about this place was amazing. Everything was very well organized, from the hostels till breakfast, shoppingime, coffee and toilet breaks. All the places we visited were absoluty beautiful!

This was the best holiday I’ve had. Our tour guide Matt was fantastic in providing us with information about the physical capabilities of the hikes and provided alternatives if needed. He also showed us lots of hidden senic hotspots that only locals knew about. Matt was an amazing tour guide. My husband and I both walked away feeling like a big part of our holiday success was because high service Matt provided. This was by far the best way to see the best bits of Tassie in a short amount of time.

We were 3 friends doing the 6-days tour with Matt, our guide, and 21 other people. Although the space in the bus was quite limited, we had a great time: Tasmania is gorgeous and we were lucky with the weather most of the time. The hostels were fine and we had good breakfasts. The only thing we didn’t like is that we were 2 girls, 1 guy and we had asked to be together in the accommodations; we were told it would be done but then we were actually separated for a few nights - but that’s a detail. About our guide: Matt was very friendly and had a nice sense of humour but also a lot of knowledge about Tasmania (its culture, its history but also its nature, etc.)! Great week!

We took the 6 Day explorer tour and for 5 of the days we had Rick as our guide. The tour took us to every major sightseeing area in Tasmania. We stayed in the Hotels while many of the other people on our tour stayed in the backpackers hostels. Our hotels were centrally located and very spacious rooms. All but one included breakfast. Rick gave us a great commentary on the sights and told us of good places to eat.
John was guide for Hobart and Port Arthur. He gave an extensive commentary about all of the areas we drove through and the sights he stopped at. It was great not having to drive ourselves and with only 16 people or less it wasn't too crowded. The tours are definitely worth the money and very enjoyable.

Just returned from an awesome trip of Tasmania’s highlights. Incredible scenery and fantastic guide Evan who was super friendly and accommodating, and even threw in a few little extra ice cream stopovers and photo stops for the best of the best close ups of wildlife Tassie had to offer! The trip was really well paced with enough rest stops to be comfortable and plenty of ‘take at your own pace’ walks. Options made it possible for all to participate as they wished. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip. Definitely worth it. Thanks Evan and the crew for keeping us on the go and making it a road trip to remember - playlist and all...

Having just spent a week in Tasmania with Intrepid’s taste of Tasmania 6 day tour, I’ve come home refreshed, rejuvenated and with amazing memories and photographs of a spectacular part of Australia. Evan (Evo) our tour guide was fantastic - driving our group of 20 to hot spots including Strahan, cradle mountain, Mt Amos, Launceston and Bicheno. Whether sharing stories of Tasmania’s history, guiding us through some fantastic walking tracks to majestic waterfalls or simply cracking some terrible dad jokes, he really made the trip special for everyone on board.
Accommodation in hostels was basic but clean with friendly hosts. Plenty of walking an activities every day. Highly recommended.

The basic trip around Tasmania was fantastic. The itinerary was busy without being overwhelming and stopped at all the key places. My only criticism is that I would have liked to spend some time walking around Lake Sinclair. Trent was a fantastic tour guide who did an incredible job keeping the group together. He also went out of his way to cook /organised a BBQ for everyone even though he wasn't required to. Completely recommend the tour and Trent.

I could not have asked for a better 6 days of exploring Tasmania! The views were absolutely stunning, all the activities along the trip were so much fun, and the people I shared the experience with were awesome. There wasn’t a single stop on the trip I didn’t enjoy. Trent was the best guide you could ask for. He was kind, helpful, knowledgeable, had a good sense of humour, and really went the extra step to bring the whole group together and make the journey that much more fun. Tasmania would not have been that beautiful and great without our guide : Trent Cowan. He is really professional, punctual, informative, kind, sassy and funny at the same time. His trademark hat is a treat to watch, you won’t miss it. It was my birthday week, and Trent went the extra mile to organised a BBQ party for me and even got 2 cakes for me, which made my bday really special and unique as I was celebrating it with strangers (not anymore) for the first time but felt even closer than family. Our hike to Mount Amos was epic and one of an experience. I’d recommend everyone to go with Adventure tours and ask for Trent if possible. Best trip ever !! Highly recommended

This trip was so great! I'm not usually a tours person when I travel but am very glad I gave this a go - I feel like I was able to see so much in such a short time and I actually had more energy for it because of not having to plan logistics and drive myself etc. Our guide Keygan was awesome - he knew an insane amount of interesting tidbits about Tasmania's history, flora and fauna, and quirks. He was also just a super nice guy. Tasmania itself is stunning and it too way surpassed my expectations. Deffs do this tour if you're on the fence (and if you do, deffs go to see the play in Strahan)!

Our tour was absolutely 10/10, it was an amazing way to get around Tasmania and not have to worry about the logistics of things. Our tour guide Tom made this experience possible by his enthusiasm, passion and general knowledge about the area and wildlife. I could not recommend him or this tour enough, we have made memories for a lifetime thanks to the well thought out itinerary and time with our brilliant tour guide!

We did the “Explorer 6 tour” with Josh and it was a great experience!
Josh has been a great guide: always positive and full of energy. We saw so many amazing places and animals: echidnas, penguins, wombats and platypus! Great options for varying abilities and freedom to choose what to do. Really lovely group of people.
The motels were good quality and great value.
Josh did everything to meet everyone's expectations.
Highly recommended!

Had a cracking tour guide, Evan, who gave us a great six day tour around Tasmania exploring scenic panoramas and fascinating wildlife.
A warning that this tour is a lot of driving from place to place with not much hiking, but that being said, you do get to explore more of what the island has to offer.
Had a really great time and would recommend to anyone looking to explore Tassie with not much time and wanting to cram as much in as possible.

We did the Tasmania in 6 Days: the Major Highlights and Attractions tour in March, 2024. This was without a doubt the best tour I have ever been on - due almost entirely to our guide Justin. This tour was not my first "rodeo". He is very personable and worked his butt off to make the trip as easy and enjoyable as possible. If you are looking at a tour in Tas or Australia proper, delay your trip and/or do whatever is necessary to get on a tour with him as guide. If Under Down Under sets a tour through hell and Justin is the guide get on it. I will. Justin's enroute timing with explanations of area history, animals and vegetation was superb. I think he has total recall. He would tell us a story about the area or relate a little history and give us good breaks from such from time to time. His commentary alone was worth the price of the trip. That said, had I rented a car and driven around for 6 days, trying to visit all the cool spots, I would have come away with about 5% of what I received with this tour with Justin. General notes: We opted for a private ensuite room and they were all fine. We had 21 folks in our bus from all over the world. About 11 of the folks opted for hostel accommodation and there were no complaints that I heard. I have never before done an Under Down Under tour and I am not Justin's brother or close friend. Had to add that! The guy just did an amazing job for us! GO HAWKS!

Going to Tasmania at the beginning of my travels was a big mistake. After this tour it can't get any better anymore. This tour is just simply amazing! Had the best time of my life with a sparkly, wonderful and cheerful group of people, our always enthousiastic tour guide Evan and the beautiful landscapes Tasmania has to offer.
As a backpacker, I wasn't sure if booking such a tour would be something for me. But since I don't have a driving licence myself and really wanted to explore Tasmania, I gave it a try. And boy, little did I know!
Within a couple of days the group becomes your little family. The group was really diverse; couples, solo backpackers and friends.
We've got to see a lot of Tasmania; beautiful hikes through nature, the Tasmanian devil, a wonderful play and amazing beaches.
Evan, our tour guide, made sure everyone was having a great time. By giving us lots of information, showing us around, giving different options based on different levels of fitness and especially by looking after everyone during our walks by walking and chatting (and joking ;)) with everyone.
If I could recommend this tour? 1000% yes!

The scenery was absolutely amazing. My personal favorites were Wine Glass Bay, Cradle Mountain, and the beach at Bay of Fires but all of the destinations and activities were worthwhile. So many rain forests, water falls, mountains and lake destinations. Our guide and driver Evan was so upbeat and energetic, always ensuring all the group’s travellers were enjoying themselves and finding them activities best suited for their level of fitness. I had an amazing time on the 6-Day tour of Tasmania. It was a fast paced itinerary which gave me a great taste of everything Tasmania has to offer. Our tour guide Keygan was so professional, friendly and inclusive of everyone on the tour. He really worked hard to make sure that we had a great time. His knowledge of so many different areas and subjects was truly astounding. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is keen to get out into nature, do a few walks/hikes (all very manageable and can cater to different fitness ranges).
I think it would have been helpful to have a little more information about to tour prior to starting. The information on the website is essentially all that you receive. This tour has 2 routes (same activities and accomodations) going in clockwise and anti-clockwise rotations. We weren't sure which one we were doing until we got on the bus the first day! Not a major issue or anything that detracted from the overall tour, but just would have been nice to know.

A good tour is dependant on the tour guide and the people you're touring with. I was blessed with both, with the bonus of good weather. Justin was our tour guide and you can tell how enthusiastic and the enjoyment he brings to his job. I came with my parents who were 84 and 76 and did the 6 days explorer in Tassie and he looked after them in activities that they couldn't participate in. There were lots to see and it's fast pace, but sufficient time to relax and enjoy the scenery. We enjoyed our time and thank you Justin for all the driving and commentary you provided and the ice cream detour

Discovery 6 (October 2024). I have recently returned from this tour. Although it's fresh in my mind this was a holiday I will never forget. Tasmania is a wonderful place and Under Down Under gave me a perfect view of the highlights of this glorious place. I travelled with a friend but others in the group came alone and we had a great time guided by Campbell, our excellent guide, who gave us information on the geography, flora, fauna and history as we toured. In 6 days we saw the Wild West Coast and the fabulous East Coast through the main towns and the countryside The mix of walking, sight seeing, boat trips and key venues was just right and moving on every day was painless as we were delivered to our motel rooms. Walks were tailored to our ability and wishes which was helpful in meeting different needs. Having a number of meals together added to the group bonding and enjoyment of the tour. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Thanks everyone,

Lovely tour, really enjoyed all the places we visited. Hadyn recommended places to eat in the locations we were visiting and had plenty of information regarding the places we drove through and visited. Got to try lavender ice cream and a scallop pie!

Even during the tour I already knew this one will be very hard to top. Small group with interesting open minded people and a very well planned, thought of and prepared trip! None of the usual let’s take the tourist to boring stores to buy local produce but a balanced experience between decent hiking, sight-seeing and, culture. @Campbell, our very knowledgeable, attentive, caring, friendly and funny guide was the best!!!! He made us laugh while sharing history and geographical information. Oh and the Tessie is amazing!!

Our school group were part of a World Challenge Trip to Tasmania, Under Down Under Tours took us around Tasmania for 5 nights and 6 days. Justin was our tour guide/bus driver for the week and he was so entertaining and engaging with all of our students. Multiple students said the highlight of their trip was listening to his stories and wicked playlists in the bus. When some areas were shut due to storm damage Justin was able to provide us with other options which the students enjoyed just as much. Justin was also able to suggest other ideas that weren't on the original tour that enhanced the students experience. Can't recommend him and UDUT enough. Thanks for a great week!

Three reasons why this tour was so fantastic:1) The nature and scenery throughout Tasmania is jaw dropping - couldn't stop taking photos! 2) The people on our tour were such fun - friendly, funny, energetic and up for anything despite the cold, windy weather 3) The glue that held it all together was our awesome guide, Haydn. He was so knowledgeable about everything ( especially trees!), he was patient, friendly, made a point of spending time with each guest, funny, accommodating of our requests and he was a great driver! The Explorer 6 tour was such a lovely way to see some very diverse parts of Tasmania. As a solo traveller this trip was a great way for me to experience the island without having to drive a car myself, and the lovely group that did the tour with me was a really nice bonus! Our group was very diverse in age range, and I think that Under Down Under did a great job in accommodating to everyone’s specific needs and fitness levels. In the end our wonderful guide Keygan really made this trip as nice as it could be for everyone.

The explorer 6 trip was simply sensational. Evan our tour guide took great care with all 23 of us and especially made sure we all had a good time. All the walks were breathtaking and there were options for all fitness abilities. Highlights for me included the beautiful wineglass bay and cradle mountain. Thank you for a very enjoyable 6 days. I made new friends and had a wonderful time on my first solo trip!

Unfortunately communication between Go Way travel and Down Under was poor. The tour we were booked on no longer existed. We were put on a 6 day explorer which omitted the Port Arthur tour which was disappointing. Otherwise the trip was fantastic. Correct info prior to the trip would have allowed me to choose the best option. Our guide Keygan was great.

I loved my 6 Day Explorer Tour of Tassie with our awesome guide Tim. We packed a huge amount into the six days and saw so much of this beautiful island. There were opportunities for walks in stunning landscapes every day (with easy, moderate and challenging options always available). Tim was brilliant, accommodating the needs of our very mixed group really well and sharing his encyclopaedic knowledge with us on every stop. I really appreciated his passion for Tasmania’s environment and history. Anthony who we had as our guide on the last day was a really lovely guy as well. Thanks so much for a fantastic week!

What a great trip!!! I have just got back from doing the 6 day tour and it was so much fun! We got to see so many places in such a short space of time but it also didn’t feel rushed at all! Our tour guide Evan was incredible! He was fun, enthusiastic, he got to know everyone in the group and he was always coming out with random facts and information about all the places and things we were seeing! This tour did test my fitness abilities I will say but Evan did offer us different levels of walks that we could choose from. Definitely would recommend this tour!

My dad and I have just experienced a 6 day under down under tour of Tasmania.
Hadyn was our tour guide. He truly made our holiday one we will never forget. The knowledge and understanding of nature - fauna and flora, the history he told was just amazing. He took time out with everyone listened to them, helped them , entertained us, guided us, was generally interested in providing us all with what we needed to have the most enjoyable tour. He was a Brilliant driver and confident. We felt safe . Thank you Hadyn for the memories.You are truly a great guide and hope you continue to shine as you do in a field of work you are good at and mostly enjoy.

Did the Explorer 6 tour and it was amazing! Saw so much of the island in the short time we had, from rainforest and dunes to beaches ans mountains, tassie has it all. Including a lot of different animals. We saw wallabies, wombats, enchidnas, tassie devils and more. Keygan was a great tour guide and knew so much about the island and its history and was fun to have around. He gave a lot of information that the sometimes long drives where still enjoyable! Had a great time!

I took a 6-day wilderness tour with a guide in Tasmania from Under Down Under Tours and I must say that it was one of the unforgettable experiences of my life. An excellently chosen route that provided activities of various types and levels, an excellent guide Brandon, who was able to accurately assess moods and levels of fatigue. Moreover, he was extremely pleasant and funny, always smiling. And last but not least, I was lucky to have people in the group who, although they were of different ages and nationalities, always helped me and created a close, almost family atmosphere. I was really sad when the trip ended. Tasmania is such a beautiful country, but we should always be respectful of its culture.
