Lost In Australia started the way most great adventures do – humbly, and a little chaotically. Our story begins in a small camping office in Darwin, where founder Michael Morgan spent his teenage years in the late 1980s cleaning trucks for his parents’ camping tour business. What started as a family trade grew, over decades, into one of Australia’s most trusted adventure travel companies – one that now helps thousands of travellers explore every corner of this extraordinary country.

That early apprenticeship left its mark. The same hands-on, small-group spirit that defined those early Northern Territory camping tours has carried Lost In Australia from its Darwin roots to covering the length and breadth of the continent, without losing the personal touch that got us here.
We haven’t forgotten where we came from. Rather than mass-market packages, we seek out small, grass-roots, locally owned tour operators – the kind of businesses Michael’s parents once ran – because they’re the ones who deliver the most genuine, authentic experiences a traveller can have.
Our Values
Adventure
Spend five minutes with our team and you’ll notice it immediately: an honest, unshakeable love of travel. It’s not a job requirement we wrote down somewhere – it’s simply who we are, and it shows in the work.
Education
Planning a trip to a country you’ve never seen is hard to do alone. That’s where we come in: helping you understand your options, and figuring out, together, what kind of adventure actually suits you.
Helping
Profit was never the whole point. We want the places we visit, and the people we meet along the way, to be better off for it – which is why we support charities and causes beyond the tours themselves.
Customer Service
None of this works without the people who trust us with their trip. Our travellers aren’t just customers – they’re the reason Lost In Australia exists at all, and we treat every booking that way.
