See MapDay 1: Arrival and Travel
Upon arrival, make your way to Arts Factory Lodge, conveniently located within walking distance of the Greyhound & Premier Bus Stops. If you're flying in, Ballina Airport (BNK) is the nearest option. While airport pick-up is not included, you can easily arrange transportation through Steve's Airport Transfers at an affordable rate of under $25.
Check-in at the reception after 1PM on the first day of your adventure. If you need assistance with flight bookings, feel free to reach out to us for help in finding great deals.
Evenings in Byron Bay are a delight, whether you choose to explore the incredible dining options or simply relax on the main beach, sipping a cold drink and watching the mesmerizing sunset over the surf.
Day 2: Whale Watching (Seasonal) or Kayaking With Dolphins
If the 4 Hour Whale Watching Experience is unavailable, it will be replaced with either a ½ day surf lesson or Kayaking with Dolphins.

Did you know that Byron Bay is part of the renowned 'Humpback Highway'? Over 35,000 humpback whales migrate through this area each year, attracting a diverse range of wildlife for an unforgettable viewing experience.
Your day begins bright and early at The Byron Bay Dive Centre, a short 15-minute walk from your accommodation. The experienced crew will not only entertain you throughout the trip, but also ensure your safety at all times.
The excursion takes you over the reef surrounding Byron Bay and onto the 'Humpback Highway', where you'll witness the incredible spectacle of migrating whales. The high-speed vessel and the expertise of the crew provide the best chance to spot these magnificent creatures up close.
During the 4-hour trip, you'll have ample time for viewing and capturing epic photos (don't forget to snap a selfie with a breaching whale – it's guaranteed to impress!). After the tour, you'll be transported back to your accommodation, where you can join in with the hostel activities.
From yoga and drum circles to didgeridoo carving and poi lessons, there's something for everyone. If you prefer a different vibe, head to Byron Town for a delicious acai bowl at our favorite spot, Combi Byron Bay. Alternatively, indulge in the best burger in town at Main Street Burger Bar.

Day 3: Sea Turtle Snorkel Tour
If you choose the Sea Turtle Snorkel, here's what awaits you...
Join the experts at Byron Bay Dive Centre as they take you to The Pass, where you'll board their fantastic ocean vessel.
Accompanied by friendly guides, you and your group will embark on a journey to Julian Rocks, renowned as one of Australia's top dive and snorkel sites. Dive into the crystal-clear waters and come face to face with fascinating marine life, including turtles, rays, and friendly sharks.
These tours typically depart in the morning or afternoon, leaving you with ample free time to explore. We recommend visiting the famous Byron Bay Lighthouse and Wategos Beach. Take a leisurely coastal walk that can be completed in under 2 hours, offering splendid photo opportunities and chances to spot turtles, dolphins, and seasonal whales swimming below.
After the tour, return to your accommodation where you can participate in various hostel activities, such as yoga, drum circles, didgeridoo carving, and poi lessons. Alternatively, indulge in a delectable acai bowl at our favorite spot, Combi Byron Bay, or treat yourself to the best burgers in town at Main Street Burger Bar.
If you're up for some adventure, drop by the Happy Travels store to rent a bicycle or surfboard. Our friendly staff will guide you to the best local surfing spots or suggest a scenic route to explore with our bicycles.
Day 4: Travel Day / End of Tour
The last day has arrived. It's time to check out and head home or to your next destination. Check-out time is at 10 AM. If you require luggage storage, simply approach the friendly reception team at Arts Factory Byron Bay, and they will gladly assist you.
