Darwin is the capital city of the Northern Territory, Australia. Consisting of 124, 800 Territorians, Darwin is by far the largest and most populated city in the sparsely populated Northern Territory, but the least populous of all Australia's capital cities.
Originally a small port town, Darwin has grown exponentially into one of Australia's most unique and multicultural cities. Its close proximity to Asia gives it a very oriental feel as well as endowing it as an important Australia gateway to South East Asia.
Darwins only connection to the rest of the country is via the famous stuart highway which ends in Port Augusta in South Australia.
Like the rest of the surrounding regions, Darwin enjoys a tropical climate comprising of two different seasons; the Wet and Dry. It is also well know for its incredible amount of lightning strikes every years during heavy hurricanes and storms.

An absolutely grand last three nights under the stars in the red Aussie outback, and the most affordable, phenomenal way to travel the middle of the NT. Alex was the best cook, DJ, facts man and guide, and all the locals knew the owners and had only good things to say. Couldn't recommend it more. Thanks heaps, can't wait to do Alice to Darwin next.

1st August 2026 - 7 Day Darwin to Alice Springs Adventure
I can't recommend the 7-day Darwin to Uluru tour with Mulgas enough, an absolute highlight of my time in Australia. Every day brought something new, from swimming in Litchfield's clear waterholes to watching sunrise over Uluru, with a great balance of adventure, culture and relaxation. Our first guide Olivia (Darwin to Alice Springs) and then Andrew (Alice Springs to Uluru) were both phenomenal, funny, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about the land. The small group made lifelong friends, and sleeping under the stars in a swag was once-in-a-lifetime. If you want to experience the heart of Australia, this is the tour. Thank you, Mulgas!

1st May 2024 - 3 Day Alice Springs to Darwin Tour
I did the 4-day tour of Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon with Laura, then the 3-day trip up to Darwin through the NT's springs, watering holes and pubs with Jason. These were some of the best experiences of my life, and our fearless bush guides made them what they were, making it easy to just lean in and enjoy the ride. Thank you both for showing me a world wilder than I imagined and taking such great care of the group. I'll recommend both legs to anyone who'll listen for the rest of my life.

1st August 2026 - 3 Day Darwin to Alice Springs Tour
We began with the 2-day express from Darwin to Alice Springs - only one pub meal included and otherwise self-catered, with two hostel nights and a lot of driving, though Ryan kept it fun with stops at a hot spring, swimming holes and the Devil's Marbles. Then Jake took over for the 3-day camping section, my favourite part: all meals provided, including camel and kangaroo to try, and he was knowledgeable and energetic. A great tour overall; I'd only include every meal and lift the food quality a touch. Expect plenty of driving and cold desert nights in winter.
