Day 1
DAY 1
ISLAND ARRIVAL, BEACH DRIVES & CAMPFIRE NIGHTS ✦
MEET YOUR CREW
Meet your fellow travellers at the Moreton Island Adventures vehicle ferry (East Brisbane) for the crossing to Moreton Island/Mulgumpin. Get to know everyone and hear what’s ahead during your briefing, before arriving on the island and receiving an introduction to your 4x4 vehicles. Share the driving as part of our guided convoy, or enjoy the views as passenger princess. ✦
BEACH DRIVING & CAMP SETUP
Follow the convoy north along Western Beach and sandy inland tracks, getting a feel for island driving as you go. Set up camp together at our private beachfront campsite and stop for a quick breakfast then head out for the day ahead. ✦
CAPE MORETON LIGHTHOUSE
Head to Cape Moreton Lighthouse for a walk up to the coastal viewpoints. Take in the sweeping ocean views and keep watch for dolphins, turtles and migrating whales. The migratory corridor of humpback whales is closer to shore here and at Point Lookout (North Stradbroke Island) than anywhere else in the world! Take your time here and take in the sheer beauty of Australia’s marine life. ✦
NORTH POINT, HONEYMOON BAY & CHAMPAGNE POOLS
Next we will take a drive to the island’s northern tip, from the ocean views at North Point to the sandy cove of Honeymoon Bay. Take a short coastal walk, enjoy the scenery and stop at Champagne Pools, where waves spill over the rocks into natural seawater pools. We will spend plenty of time here to relax, take photos, enjoy a dip when sea conditions are suitable and set up some more beach games. ✦
DINNER, CAMPFIRE & MOVIE NIGHT
Return to camp for an evening of cooking together, music and games. After dinner, get comfortable for a movie at our outdoor cinema beneath the stars. Stay up by the fire chatting with the crew or take a quiet moment by the beach to enjoy the island night sky before heading to your tent.
Day 2
DAY 2
TANGALOOMA WRECKS & BEACH TIME ✦
BREAKFAST & PACK DOWN
Enjoy breakfast and a coffee together with a chill morning around camp, then pack down, tidy the site and load the 4WDs. Set off in convoy for a day by the beach. ✦
TANGALOOMA WRECKS
Spend your second day on the island at the Tangalooma Wrecks. Spend time on the beach, enjoy lunch with the crew and explore the shoreline. Fancy a closer look? Go snorkelling among the sunken ship wrecks, keeping an eye out for tropical fish, turtles and other beautiful marine life. ✦
BEACH LUNCH & VOLLEYBALL
Stay by the Tangalooma Wrecks for lunch on the beach and a game of volleyball. Spend the afternoon playing on the sand, relaxing beside the water and getting some group photos before it’s time to board the ferry. ✦
BACK TO BRISBANE
Board the vehicle ferry and settle in for the crossing back to the mainland. Swap photos, share your favourite moments and make plans to catch up with the friends you’ve made along the way.
