This approximately 10-hour experience combines a professional beginner-friendly surf lesson with some of the most iconic coastal destinations in Australia. Throughout the day, guests will learn to surf, discover beautiful beaches, explore Byron Bay, visit spectacular coastal lookouts and have the chance to spot local marine wildlife including dolphins, turtles and, if they're lucky, manta rays.
Designed for small groups, the experience is about much more than just a surf lesson — it's a full day immersed in the Australian coastal lifestyle with our local surf instructors and guides.
HOW THE DAY ROLLS
Morning Departure from Brisbane
We start the day with pickup from Brisbane in the morning and head south towards the Gold Coast.
The exact departure time may vary depending on ocean and surf conditions, as we aim to provide the safest and best possible conditions for the surf lesson.
Our first destination is Coolangatta, at the southern end of the Gold Coast. On arrival, guests will have some time to grab a coffee, relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere while our instructors prepare the boards and equipment for the lesson.
Surf Lesson in Coolangatta
Then it's time to hit the water!
Our professional surf lesson is designed specifically for beginners and those looking to improve their basic surfing skills.
Our instructors introduce guests to the fundamentals of surfing, ocean awareness and safety before getting into the water. We'll assess their level, help build their confidence and, most importantly, do everything we can to get them up and riding waves.
All necessary surf equipment is provided.
Byron Bay
After the surf lesson, we'll continue south to Byron Bay.
Guests will have time for lunch and to explore the town centre, browse the local shops, experience Byron's unique atmosphere and relax around Main Beach.
Beaches, Lookouts & Wildlife
In the afternoon, we'll explore the beautiful coastline surrounding Byron Bay.
We'll head towards Little Wategos Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches in the area. Dolphins are regularly seen along this stretch of coastline, and there are also opportunities to spot turtles and other marine life.
We'll then take a panoramic coastal walk, stopping at spectacular lookout points along the way, including the most easterly point of mainland Australia.
The experience finishes at the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse, where we'll take in the incredible coastal views before beginning our journey back to Brisbane.
Return to Brisbane will be approximately 10 hours after departure.
