Itinerary

The day starts with a pick-up from your Cairns city hotel or hostel for the drive of about 20 minutes north to Smithfield. Transfers run at set times through the morning and early afternoon, and your time is confirmed when you book. With a car, you can drive yourself instead and park free on site.

Skypark sits in rainforest at the foot of the ranges. A path climbs through the trees from the car park to reception, about a six-minute walk uphill, and goannas, snakes and blue Ulysses butterflies are often seen along the way. There is a licensed bar and café, with viewing decks where friends can watch.

You check in, sign the waiver and are fitted and briefed by the crew, then the bungy comes first. The crew weigh you, match one of four cord thicknesses to your weight and let you pick from the 16 jump styles on the menu. You climb 196 stairs to the top of the 50 metre tower, the highest lookout in Cairns, with views over the Northern Beaches towards the Great Barrier Reef. You are attached at the ankles and the waist, with a back-up connection, and the drop is towards a 5 metre deep lagoon.

The crew on the platform are accredited Jump Masters, whose training can take up to two years. Then you jump, drop towards the water and bounce back up on the cord while friends watch from below.

Then it's over to the Giant Swing. You can ride it alone or bring up to two others, and you are raised to 45 metres above the canopy. One of you pulls the release, and in 3.5 seconds you fall to about a metre off the ground at up to 120 km/h before swinging out through the trees.

Once both are done there is time for a drink at the bar before the transfer back to town. Photos and video can be bought on the day.

How we collect and publish reviews

Where they come from. Our reviews are gathered from independent review sites and from guests who share feedback with us directly after their trip. They come from people who have actually travelled on the tour. Some longer trips are made up of shorter tours we also sell, run back to back — where a review was written about one of those legs, the review says so.

Why some are edited. Many of our guests travel in their second or third language. Where a review is hard to read, we lightly edit spelling, grammar and punctuation, or paraphrase a sentence for clarity. We never change the rating, the meaning or the sentiment, and we never write a review on a guest's behalf.

Reading the originals. Reviews sourced from public review sites appear there in their original form, and can be read in full at their original source at any time.

So much fun. I came for a bungy and the swing and ended up doing two bungy jumps, talking my wife into a tandem jump, doing the swing with the kids, and my dad did a bungy too.

An incredible experience, I'd bungy jump again and again. I did the swing while I was there too, which was awesome, and the staff were so kind and funny.

The bungy jump and giant swing were thrilling and so well run, and I felt safe and supported. Thanks to our driver Mina, who was fun and full of great local tips.
