What is included on a Nullarbor crossing?

Nearly all of itSwag, meals, park fees and the guide. One night has no shower.

Almost everything, and you sleep in a swag. The crossing runs ten days between Adelaide and Perth, with nine nights camping and most meals included — westbound covers 9 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 9 dinners. The swag, the camping gear, the national park fees and the guide are all in. One night is bush camping on the Nullarbor itself with no shower or toilet; every other night has both. From $2,219.

Checked on 6 October 2026.

The Nullarbor crossing is one of the great drives and one of the emptiest, which makes the question of what is actually provided more pressing than usual. There is nowhere to pop out to.

Where you actually sleep

It is more varied than "ten days of camping" suggests. Eastbound the nights run through Fitzgerald River, two nights at Lucky Bay, the Nullarbor, Fowlers Bay, Coodlie Park Farm Retreat, Camp Nyroca and two nights at Mikkira Station. Two nights at Lucky Bay is the one people remember — white sand, clear water and kangaroos on the beach.

What it costs, and why

From $2,219 eastbound and $2,450 westbound for ten days. That works out at roughly $220 a day with nearly all your food, your bed, your transport across 2,700km and a guide included — which is the thing to weigh it against rather than against a hire car, because a one-way hire across the Nullarbor carries a drop fee that is a long way from nothing.
